"I'm new to the area and heard that this place was nice to meet people"

"Oh, yes indeed." Ician stares at the drunk Griff. "All sorts of people."

Crescendo stands
"Well, Ician, it was nice meeting you. It's getting late, I'm going home. You can expect to find me back up here soon."
Crescendo leaves the bar

"Goodbye." Ician calls after him, then settles back to his drink of water.

Griff finally moves "huh..." he says, quickly looking around. "What did I miss...?"

Ician takes a sip of water. "Not much. Just a short conversation." He eyes Griff. "Feeling better now?"

Griff silently stares at Ician with half closed eyes for a few moments before he realizes that he has been asked a question. "Uhh.. sure, I guess."

"Mm." Ician stares vacantly for several moments. He then looks away, gazing into his cup of water. "So... how's life?"

"Everything's better when there's a few bottles of alcohol..." Griff says, now staring into one of the walls.

Ician sighs. "Usually I find that it's the other way around." He looks upwards, staring at a random spot on the ceiling. "Alcohol only ends up in my mouth when I have something to forget."

Griff takes one glare at Ician. "Hey Ician, since when.. *hic* do you have a twin brother?" Griff says, barely keeping his head in the air.

Ician blinks at Griff, then sighs. "And that's why I stay away from alcohol." His horn flashes with intense light, and his unassuming grey cloak is pulled off of his torso, folded into a soft pile of fabric, and situated beneath Griff's head.

Gently, Ician pats Griff's back and navigates his head onto the makeshift pillow. "Sweet dreams."

Griff faceplants into the Ician's cloak and soon after falls into a short sleep.

Moments after that, a mare walks into the bar with a big smile on her face. "One beer please!" She says to Martini and then notices Ician. She immediately salutes. "Greetings, officer Ician!" She says.

"Um..." Ician regards her curiously. "Sorry, you are...?"

"Sky Cog, sir!" She says. "Proud captain of Airship Crystal Viper, gifted to me by Princess Luna herself!"

"I... see." Ician pauses. "Well, pleased to meet you."

A few seconds tick by. Ician stiffens.

"Hold on a second. Airship? Princess Luna?" He eyes Sky Cog. "Are you in the Equestrian Army, by any chance?"

"Me, not really, sir, but my father is Royal Guard's main engineer." She answers quickly.

"You have a royalty-sanctioned airship? Those are quite rare." He sips from his glass. "What is your father's name?"

"Crescent Gear, sir." She says, looking at the chair. "Mind if I sit down?"

"Go ahead." Ician indicates a free chair. "Intriguing, that I have not heard about this before now." He faces Sky Cog. "So, you have an airship? What's it like?"

Sky sits down on a free chair. "It's a rather large ship.. used to be a pirate ship." She begins. "Royal Forces damaged it when it attacked Canterlot 9 years ago. It was still flying, but everyone on it was dead, those that did survive were taken to a prison. Some captains took the ship and ordered my father to fix it up and make it suitable for Equestrian Army. When I reached 19 years of age, my father asked the Princess Luna if he can keep the ship, she approved and then I got an airship for myself on my birthday." She says, smiling.

"I see. Interesting..." He chuckled dryly. "I can imagine Royal High Command kicking up a fuss about that. An airship is a pretty valuable asset. But, of course, the Princess' word is law."

"Who's he?" she asks as she looks at the sleeping Griff.

"Hm?" Ician glances at Griff. "Oh, he's Griff. A mercenary."

"A mercenary, huh.." she says. "I hope he's at least friendly..."
