The Multi-Dimensional OC Bar

The stallion, initially, gives Divine a bemused look, before simply shrugging. "Fine. I'm not cruel, after all. I'll quit messing with you two. No promises for anyone else, though" He then turns his head to Ician. "Well, I imagine suprising you can't be that hard. Oh, and yes, I do find it fun. Funny, too. Sometimes. It depends."

Divine returns to Ruby and nuzzles her. Ruby hugged her, shooting daggers at the stallion before focussing on Divine.

Ician glances at Divine, then at the stallion. He continues the conversation, but in a more subdued and passive tone. "Oh, you might find that it is a lot harder to surprise me than you think. I've seen a lot in this Bar. Though, strangely, not the likes of you. Not before today, at any rate." He smiles. "You must be a rare breed. Should I ask the animal welfare group to add insensitive, arrogant earth ponies to the endangered species list?"

"Probably not" the stallion says, as if answering an actual question. "Not only are there plenty of us, but we're not that easy to take out. Me, especially. See, I'm getting this feeling that you don't really know who you're talking to. But, I digress. At any rate, if the things you've seen, that you think are noteworthy enough to bring up now, only come out of this bar, then you must live a sad, sheltered life. You have my sympathies." He says with a smirk.

"I'm getting this feeling that you don't know who you're talking to, either." Ician shakes his head. "But I digress. You haven't been in this bar nearly long enough to see all the things I have. And," he adds, "if living a life that isn't sheltered makes me like you... I'll stick with the way things are, thank you very much." He takes a nonchalant sip of water. "And you may have my sympathies in return. I can only imagine the volume of manure you've been dragged through to make you who you are now." He gives the stallion his own smirk. "Must be the stuff of legends."

"You'd be suprised. But, like I said; not that hard to do." He says while shaking his head. "I wouldn't call it the stuff of legends, but it's not exactly been easy. When your grandpa runs the family buisness, and you're expected to be a part of that buisness, but you've never met your grandpa, and he trusts you like a racist Pegasus trusts a unicorn, it tends to be a little.... Difficult. You'd think being the only son of his only son would help you get his trust, but apparently not." He gives a sigh. "But I digress. Maybe you've been here longer, but I can, without a doubt, say that this bar isn't much compared to being a Wiseguy. And hey, you pretty much admitted to being sheltered, so I'm chalking this up as a victory for me." He says with snide smile.

"Oh you poor dear." Divine stood up slowly. "Your grandad doesn't trust you... That must be soooo tough." She laughs sarcastically. "I would defiantly know nothing like that."

"Arrogance.." Aerv begins. "Oh how much I hate it. So, if I heard correctly, you live by expense of others.." he says as one of his eyes turn black, the small flame in his fingers turning into piece of what looks like shadowy fog. "Makes me sort of glad I don't live here.." he says silently.

Ician smiles his own smile at the stallion. "Whatever made you think being sheltered was a bad thing? You treat it as if it's a winning stroke." His face darkens. "But let me assure you, I am not sheltered. Maybe, once upon a time, I was... but not anymore. And not now."

He blinks, the darkness disappearing. "Ah, but who am I to say? It sounds like you've had a rough life." He inclines his head slightly. "My condolences."

He turns to Divine. "He has his own problems, his own life. Perhaps you oughtn't belittle them. Everyone has his or her breaking point, after all. Not everypony can look back upon the past with as much indifference as you can."

"Indifference? You think I look at it with indifference?" She shook her head sadly. "I wish I could do that much." She holds up her empty glass. "I grew up with a drunk father who only bought minimum food and alcohol. Unless I'm dealing in court or am drunk, which takes a lot, I'm incredibly submissive. I can't see, cry and can't love, all cursed by my father's rage. You think that I coul suffer that with indifference?!"

Ruby blinked as he listened to her story, wiping a few stray tears from her eyes.

Ician pauses, searching for the right words. "... Divine, you know I am not as good with words as I would like to be. And sometimes I say things I do not mean." He hesitates again, structuring his next sentence with care. "Indifference is not the word I should have used, and I apologise for it. What I truly wanted to convey was..." His mouth opens and closes several times. He blinks. "... Everyone has a past. Some, not as good as others. Just because you have suffered through worse does not mean you should look down on what others have gone through." He looks down at the floor. "Everypony has their breaking point. You have been through a lot, Divine, and that makes you strong. Stronger than others, but... a lesser suffering can be a far greater nightmare for the one who cannot handle it."

Divine closes her mouth. "Ician... I shouldn't have exploded... I'm sorry... I forgot my place..." She bowed her head, walking over and hugging him gently. "Sorry..."

"No, don't be." Ician returns the hug. "That was my fault. I should have watched what I said more carefully." He shakes his head. "See now, this is why I can't handle myself in a social situation."

She bows her head. "I better get going. I'll need to get a good nights sleep for court tomorrow." She walked back over to Ruby, took her hoof and walked to the door. "You don't need to worry Ician. Bye."

"Oh yes, before you go." Ician calls. "Don't forget about the expedition. We'll be leaving soon, I believe." He looks around. "Not that 'soon' has much meaning when you're in this Bar."

"True. I'll be back in time, don't worry." She left, Ruby waving as she followed her out.
