He laughed happily and shook his head. "Trust me, I'd love to. It would be my honour." He leant closer to her. "And as for the nobles, well, I have great fun taunting them."

"I wish I could." Harmony sighs. "But when my career depends on what they think of me... Well, that doesn't give me much of a choice, does it?"

He tapped his chin and chuckled at a thought. "If say, I was to annoy some nobles, do you think you could stop yourself from laughing whilst I do so?"

Harmony bows her head in mock contemplation. "Hm... It sounds tough. I'm not sure I'll be able to do it."

"A shame. You see, there's not a thing those nobles could do as I technically out-rank them." He leaned closer and flashed a smile. "So it's a real shame."

Harmony looked surprised. "How do you outrank a noble? They're all Dukes and Duchesses, Princes and Princesses... does a Sergeant outrank those?"

"Secrets. A few words in a few ears. And sometimes I serve under Celestia herself as her personal guard. They tend not to argue with someone who can easily have a word in her ear." He chuckled at the thought.

"Hm. So you're a powerful stallion..." She smiles at him. "Tell me more about yourself. What do you do in your off-time?"

"Spare time? What's that?" He asked jokingly. "But seriously, not a whole lot. I don't see the point in dating because not many mares click with me. I enjoy reading, listening to music... I'll have to try dating with you." He smiled at the thought.

"Listening to music?" Harmony's grin grows wider. "What genre do you prefer?" She gestures to the array of instruments. "Anything I can play?"

He nodded. "I should hope so. I enjoy classical, jazz, a little bit of rock, and anything with a violin in it. Assuming of course, the pony playing the violin doesn't sound like they're straggling a cat."

Harmony smiles sweetly at him. "I don't suppose I sound like I'm strangling a cat?"

"Not at all my dear. Your music is exquisite." He leaned closer again, smiling gently at her.

Griff attemps to ignore the new couple. "So anyways..." he turns to Ician. "My mission wasn't so bad.. at least payment-wise. I don't suppose you care what it was..?"

"No, no, go ahead." Ician says to Griff. "Why wouldn't I care? Your life is at least ten times as exciting as mine."

He studiously avoids looking at Harmony and Paladin.

Harmony, for her part, leans yet closer to Paladin and says, "Tell me, how do you like this?" Ending the old song, she quickly kicks into a new one.

Paladin blinked in surprise, closing his eyes as he listened to the song happily, mind drifting in bliss as she played.

"Amazing... Truly amazing." He whispered.

"Would be quite surprising to you. Royal forces across the east sea wanted me to scout the area with my eagle eyes." Griff says, sipping his rum yet again.

"Thank you, thank you." Harmony ends the song, bowing as if to a large crowd. "You're too kind."

Ician looks purposefully away from her. "Royal forces, eh? What were you scouting for?"

He took her hoof and smiled. "Anytime my dear." He leaned a little closer, still smiling.

"Anything that didn't look ordinary, I guess." He says. "Guess I'm not a bad guy afterall, huh."

Harmony blushes, looking at Paladin's face and smiling. "I'll be happy to play for you anytime."

At the other end of the room, Ician addresses Griff, "I never said you were a bad guy. A mercenary, perhaps, but hardly a bad guy." He nods. "Go wherever the money takes you, I suppose. I'm afraid I'm not one to understand that kind of mentality very well."

"I'd like that... A lot." He framed her face with a hoof and blushed. "I Ummm... Don't actually have a whole lot of experience... With this whole thing..." He chuckled.

"Actually... I don't either, but..." She coughs awkwardly. "... we've got to start somewhere, don't we?"

He kissed her gently, still blushing gently. Holding her gently, he kissed her, tail flicking.
