"not that ive seen" she said with a quick answer

Brim nodded and continued wandering with Lightning through the town. The majority of buildings they passed were simple homes, with just the occasional business nestled in here or there. One of the few large two story buildings however had a vacancy sign hanging from an overhang. Brim pointed out the sign, saying "hey, the inn back in the woods had one of those signs. Can we stay there?"

"lets go ask" she said up beat

Brim nodded and followed after Lightning into the building. The mare behind the counter might have been the first pony not to give the two a double take, though this was likely because she was busy looking through a magazine and not really paying attention to Brim and Lightning. "Welcome to the thatched roof inn, rooms are either 25 bits for a single or 40 for a double per night," she said sounding pretty bored.

"5 nights double please" she said dropping a full coin bag on the desk

"Thank you and have a pleasant stay," the mare said basically scooping the bag of bits under the counter and hoofing a key onto the surface. "Up the stairs, 4th door on the right," she continued still without looking up from her reading.

"thankyou ma'am" takes the key and goes to there room.

Brim followed after Lightning, offering the mare behind the counter a wave that she didn't even acknowledge. Inside the room, there were the two beds as stated and a small bathroom off to the side. While it wasn't anything like the places in Canterlot, there was a certain cozy quality to the small room. As Brim clambered onto one bed he looked over at Lightning. "So you grew up in this town?" he asked now that they could speak in private.

"yeah sort of, from the age of 6 atleast, i love this town" she said laying in bed.

"What all is there to it? Seems kinda small compared to the last town," Brim remarked as he turned to face Lightning.

"it is and simple, full of simple ponies too, and that way its not all hustle and bustle, but still alot happens here" she said plainly but fondly

"Like what?" Brim asked completely unaware of the towns rather infamous series of weekly disasters or shenanigans.

"im sure you'll see tomorrow hehe" she said with a smile

"Oh, alright, *yawn*, well it has been a busy day. Got to meet the princesses, was given a strange job from them, guess I'll see you in the morning Lightning," Brim said finally rolling over and going to sleep.

"night demon-chan" she said, then gets cosy and finally sleeps.

The night passed without incident, and in what seemed like no time at all, the morning sun was slowly rising and peeking in through the windows. For these first few hours of the day, Brim just rolled over and pulled the covers over his head, mumbling something about feeding Petrokiv later.

lightning was up by now and was watching her friend sleep.

After a short while, mostly consisting of Brim tossing and turning a little more, Brim sat up and pushed the covers away. Yawning widely, he turned to look over at Lightning and threw her a somewhat silly looking smile. "Morning," he said still half asleep.

"So Petrokiv really means allot to you huh, to invade your dreams." She said getting dressed.

"Huh? Oh, well he was one of my first friends and he was always there for me and such," Brim responded still sleepy, but smiling none the less.

lightning smiled back as she finnished getting dressed, "should we go downstairs yet or would you like me to wait?" she said getting up and streching.

"Hmm? Oh let's go," Brim said clambering out of his own bed. After floundering a bit, he managed to get his hooves under him and upright, Brim stood next to Lightning and followed her down stairs.

lightning waled to the tabled area and looked at the menu.

Brim didn't so much as glance at his menu, instead he was busy looking at the variety of ponies that surrounded him. He finally noticed that after maybe one extended stare or a single double take, the ponies around them didn't seem to get too riled up over his appearance. This led to his next quesiton. "Lightning, do weird things happen in this town a lot?"

"more than you could imagine recently, its defently something special" she said looking around too try and reconise any of the other patrons.
