The Multi-Dimensional OC Bar

"Right... of course..." Somewhere in the haze of memory, Vision dimly recalled that she had said her name before. Perhaps in the last ten minutes or the last century. He wasn't sure. "So... how's life treating you?"

"Well enough, just got a free milkshake," she said with a cheeky grin that hinted towards a little playful bait at Lightning. The beginnings of a playful mood appearing instead of the negative ones Lightning had been receiving from her for the past few minutes.

"Actually... I'd like to do an experiment, if you will allow it." Vision sits up straight, looking a lot better than he did earlier. "Could I have a small taste of that milkshake?"

Nim shrugged and passed over the strongly peppermint spiked drink, though what he expected to find, she didn't know. It was after all, just a peppermint milkshake.

lightnings mood had been going down since she woke up but now she just looked like see had her soul and purpose taken from her.

Vision sniffs the milkshake tentatively. He then takes a moment to observe its texture, and then takes a gulp.

"Mm." He nods. "Yes, I think I can do this."

He pushes the drink back to Nim and concentrates on an empty spot on the table, his horn glowing. Bit by bit, a spectral image of the milkshake constructed itself on the tabletop, and as it completed it solidified in colour.

"There." Vision smiles. "You can try to drink it, if you like. It might not fill your stomach but it will satisfy your tastebuds. My illusions can appeal to all five senses."

"Neat trick, but I think I'll stick to the real thing," Nim replied going back to enjoying her own milkshake. She however couldn't help the small chuckle that escaped her muzzle when Lightning threw that look. "Hahaha, told you there were easier ways," she said in conjunction with the chuckle.

"Aw, come on." Vision waves the illusory milkshake around. "This one is cost-free." He takes a mouthful of it. "Uh... okay, perhaps there's a little too much peppermint..."

lightning rested her head on her arms and closed her eyes.

Nim drank the last of her own smoothie and then looked warily at Visions before yawning widely. "I think Lightning might have the right idea here. It's pretty late, at least where I'm from and bed's looking pretty comfortable," Nim commented before turning to the barkeeper and telling her that should Lightning want to get a hold of her, let her know. Then Nim got up, bid the all good night, and left the bar for the eve.

lightning rented a room and headed up there sad and tired.

"Good night." Vision calls after both of them, then falls back to his own dreamland with the illusory milkshake. It quickly dissolves into nothingness, and he takes a sip of his own water.

The griffin finishes his drink. "Well, have fun." He says as he stands up, turning towards the doorway.

"Goodbye." Vision calls, half-attentive. He looks back at his drink and sighs.

Rain Blade looks up from his food and realizes everypony but Vision has gone, "Where'd everybody go?"

"... To sleep, it seems." Vision sips his water. "I gather that they felt it was late."

"Oh, I see... How's your head treating you?"

"Slightly better." Vision rubs his head with his hoof. "Not quite fully recovered, but recovered enough, I suppose."

He nods in recognition, "thanks by the way, you really didn't have to do that for me."

"... You're welcome, I suppose." Vision looks down at the tabletop. "But you were in pain. I couldn't just stand there and watch."

Shrugging he replies "it wouldn't have surprised me if you had. Most of the time when I change in a public place I get a cluster of ponies that just stand around gawking as I writhe in pain on the ground. On a number of occasions I've been called out as a phony and attention seeker, though the exact quotes were far more vulgar."

Vision winces. "What can I say? I guess I'm... different like that." He sighs. "Sometimes society can be cruel. Or maybe it's just because everypony is too cynical. Trust and kindness are rare commodities nowadays, aren't they?"

"True, but that just makes them all the more valuable and mean so much more."

"I... suppose that's one way of looking at it." Vision waves his drink around in the air before taking a sip. "But me? I don't like to have to deal with society. I spend a lot more time by myself."

The thestral stretches his leathery wings, flexing the claws that tip them, "That's all well and good until you meet somepony you fancy, then it becomes awful lonely..."
