Name: City Lights

Race: Earth Pony

Age: 18

Mane: Long, purple and light blue, with a part.

Coat: White, well maintained.

Cutie mark.: Small purple microphone.

Distinguishing Features: Her violet eyes, and mane, which is very well taken care of. She has a reputation for being a looker.

Specialty (eg. special spells, unique powers etc): She can (somewhat) sing and dance. Not entirely unique, but City Lights has the gift of gab and is usually able to talk her way out of most situations.

Weaknesses: She's got a bit of an ego. She doesn't really like to do rough things, and doesn't like being dirty or sweaty. Due to her slight frame, she isn't really able to hold up to other ponies in physical feats. She has also never received any training with weapons.

Occupation: Formerly a singer/dancer, now looking for any type of work.

History: City Lights was born to upper middle class parents in Manehatten. They always doted on her, and because of this she isn't used to ponies telling her no. City always fancied herself a singer, and when she got her cutie mark, she was sure that was her destiny. She found herself working at a rather seedy bar in Manehatten, and learned how to dance and wait tables as well. Unfortunately, she wasn't as great of a singer as she fancied herself. She wasn't happy with her job (and neither were the customers) so she quit her job and left Manehatten.

Personality: She can come off as very obsessed with herself. City is very prim and proper, but there may be a wild pony lurking way down beneath her well kept exterior. Around new ponies, she can seem a little quiet, but once she knows them, she will open up. She prefers more mare oriented activities, such as spa trips and fashion, to masculine pursuits. As such, she doesn't like to get messy. Music is her real passion in life. She admires the Royal Guards, but would never dream of joining them.

Distinguishing Features: Most of the time he has a mechanical owl resting on a shoulder pad on his shoulder and a mechanical mouse resting in his mane. He also has goggles over his eyes.

Specialty (eg. special spells, unique powers etc): Though he can’t fight for himself, he can give his owl a command to do so for him and it will do so with ferocity.

Weaknesses: He is not physically strong and is a rather slow flier. He also doesn’t know how to fight at all. He has the tendency to get sidetracked easily.

Occupation: Librarian and Inventor

Gear: A mechanical mouse being powered by a small gem and a mechanical owl with sharp talons and wings also powered by a gem.

History: Clockwork was always a strange colt when he was young. When he was in school he would always sketch in a notebook, always wanting to build things and experiment. His best friend, Scarlet Trails, always told him he was an odd colt, but that she’d help him be odd anyway she could. He was always grateful for her friendship.

When the two became 12, Clockwork found a little injured mouse in his backyard. He ask Scarlet to help him nurse the mouse back to good health so that it could have a chance in living. During that time, he grew attached to the mouse and decided to keep him as a pet, calling him Reginald. His friend told he once more that he was an odd pony when he said he was going to keep the mouse as a pet.

One day, his parents thought it would be a good idea to get him a pet owl as a birthday present. That was not the best idea, however. Almost immediately after it was out of it’s cage, the owl tried to get the mouse and eat it. Clockwork put away his mouse in somewhere safe while he dealt with the owl. The owl was put back in it’s cage and everyone was happy. His family decided to keep the owl, but always put it away from the mouse. They didn’t have any trouble with the owl from then on and Clockwork named him Peter.

Time past and Clockwork got older. His mouse Reginald had already died and Peter also died. He wanted another mouse, but one that could live as long as he did. He went to work on making a small mechanical mouse with some help from his old friend Scarlet. She helped him with the magic portion of the mouse and he made everything else. In a few months time, he made himself another Reginald that could walk and have a bit of emotion thanks to Scarlet.

He then started to want another owl just like Peter. He went through the same process with the same help from his friend and together they made his old pets, only this time Peter didn’t have the urge to kill Reginald much. There still is the occasional times where Peter tries to bite down on the now metal mouse that is Reginald. Clockwork wants to blame that all on Scarlet who seems to have given the mouse and owl the personalities of his old pets.

Personality: He is strange and kooky but he’s all around fun to be around. He can be extremely stubborn at times, but he’s a great and smart pony.

Weaknesses:The flames take 1 second to charge. If the charge is interrupted using an attack, they deal major damage to themselves.

History: At birth Melon Blast was gifted a special unique pendant from his mother to serve as a charm to protect him throughout his life. It was specially crafted as a celebration to his birth. Melon Blast had a brilliant mind, though his brilliance shown when it involved things like gaming. This showed quite early in his life and he quickly had gotten his cutie mark much faster than most of the other colts and fillies at the time. His protective mother insisted for him to take up martial arts as a hobby, mostly as a means to have him able to protect himself, but Melon Blast gladly took it, mostly as a means to use as reference ideas for his own games, so it was a win-win overall. Melon Blast went to well off schools dedicated towards game making, to which he has gotten a full-ride scholarship for college when he finished his current level of schooling.

Personality:Very happy-go-lucky and carefree. This gets them into trouble. A lot.

Distinguishing Features: Speech pattern, slightly pudgy build, small wings (this is an injury, not from birth. She can fly, as they are healing well, but not easily).

Specialty (eg. special spells, unique powers etc): Candy-making, sales, communicating with changelings.

Weaknesses: Her weakness varies depending on the relationship. If she sees the person as a friend or someone she can rely on, she trusts them completely. Otherwise, she hides her motives, and may devolve into hostility.

Occupation: Makes candies for her small business. Oddly, is not as good at math as one might expect. She is also often called on by the government when the changeling population starts acting out, which, fortunately for her family, is very rare.

Gear: Carries a book of recipes, a greatsword from her fighting days, and a locket with two pictures: one of her husband and children, the other her older sister and brother-in-law.

History: Heads up, this is an AU.
Eight years ago, she crossed paths with a refugee changeling named Silver Lining. He was too battered to attack her, so she took him in until he could survive on his own. This was extremely bad planning on her part, not only for the danger simply of his presence, but also his circumstance. An hour later, she had managed to sneak it into her house, only to be attacked by the Queen (remotely, of course). They both survived, but her wings and a large portion of her home had been burned. She arrived at the hospital with her memory of the incident wiped from her mind.
She spent the next few weeks piecing together what had happened with the help of her sister, Lemon Drop. She discovered that Silver had been put in prison, and tried to get him to tell her about the incident. He wasn't sure about whether or not this was a good idea, as he knew she would likely get involved with the affairs of the Hive. Of course, that only made her more curious, and decided a deal would be better than nothing. With more than a little protest from the changeling, she dug through every book she could find on changelings. Unfortunately, there was only one, and that was only theoretical. Even worse, she drew the attention of the Mantis Uprising.
The Mantis Uprising was an organization dedicated to overthrowing the current changeling Queen, Obsidian. They had discovered that she had been killing off Worker drones by the masses, which was why Silver had to run. He had been moments away from his execution. Obsidian had also banished Chrysalis when she found out the former Queen had survived the Canterlot invasion, and covered it up ever since.
The two of them were pulled into the organization under the orders of Mirage, one of the other escapees and the leader of the Uprising. She trained them to fight on the front lines, informing Silver's importance to the Queen: some of the worker drones were "mutts", gifted with powers native to other lands and species. Silver was a Mirror, able to reflect his appearance, transformed or not, on another person and control them. Obsidian's job was to weed them out, but instead of just killing them, she was performing experiments to replicate their powers, picking only the most resilient by putting them through termination spells. At this point, Mirage refused to let them leave. Obsidian was defeated, but Mirage took over in her place.
Unable to bring her down, Cherry had no choice but to go to Celestia, who opened Equestria's gates to the changelings (highly supervised, of course) until she backed down. Mirage and her followers tried to attack Canterlot again, this time with the entire willing population. Cherry and Silver fought on the front lines again, but this time on Equestria's side. The war didn't last long, as most changelings were happy to defect as long as they had food.
Years later, Cherry's candy business moved to the capital city, which had begun the central hub of this era of peace. Changelings were accepted, begrudgedly at first but more so as time passed. She eventually married Silver, and they currently have a daughter, Sparkling Cider.

Personality: Quirky, intuitive, and very proud of herself. Not necessarily book smart, but still fairly intelligent. Gets hurt easily when someone she trusts proves unworthy of said trust, although often bitter if she doesn't. DO NOT intentionally get on her bad side, because she will be vicious if provoked.

Current Home: A suburb of Canterlot.

Misc: Can be played as optimistic or more tolerant of those in her bad side. Can also be played in her fighting years.

Name: Alpha Protocol
Race: Pegasus
Age: 32
Mane: Dark red with a yellow stripe.
Coat: Crimson
Cutie mark.: A single page of paper with all of the words seemingly blacked out.

Distinguishing Features: He has multiple scars and some piercings on his left ear and wings.

Specialty (eg. special spells, unique powers etc):
Alpha is savy with the spy business. He knows how to find information the right way and what hooves or claws to keep it out of. He also knows a bit about creating gadgets such as small scale explosives.

Weaknesses:
Because of his scars, and piercings, he is easily recognizable to anyone who has seen him before, which would render a disguise useless.

Occupation: Freelance Agent

Gear:
Carries a short blade for when situations get violent, and an even smaller spare in case he looses it.

History:
If there are only two things true about Alpha, it's that he gets into what he's not supposed to, and he likes the ladies. Oh yeah~.

Since he was a young colt, Alpha enjoyed getting into trouble and being places he didn't belong. He would eavesdrop on conversations all the time. He was brought home by the Guard on numerous occasions. After school, he joined the military for a short while in the intelligence division.

Somepony somewhere soon realized that this was the wrong place for him to be if they wanted to keep any "secrets". He was captured, interrogated as a spy, but then hired as one instead. Alpha worked the next few years as a government funded agent which took him all around the continent.

He soon quit working for the government, but I'm sure you know what happens to Spies who try to quit. He was hunted down for a long time and almost killed in the Office Bombing of Staliongrad.(Read about it in the paper) Barely escaping with his life, he went underground for the next two years. Keeping himself out of harm's way as much as possible until he eventually found and killed the ones that tried to kill him.

Personality:
Alpha really likes to get where he doesn't belong and snoop around in other's business. He also enjoys promiscuous relations with classy ladies, as well as the occasional interrogation.

Weaknesses: He's a tree. He burns easily. Duh.

Gear: He always has a small, waterproof bag of tea leaves, several cups, a canteen, and several enchanted gems that will heat up to boiling temperature when wet.

History: Maple was born and raised in Equestria itself, adopted by pony parents. As he grew up with them, he got interested in their line of work, as they were both cooks, and as he got older, he learned little things from them, little tricks to improve a certain dish, what to add in place of other ingredients to replace them, or improve upon the dish. Maple learned very well. And when he was old enough to move out, he did, and immediately went to Canterlot, looking for a job there, but only finding catering jobs. But he still did what he could to keep himself busy, making a few friends here and there, but never really connecting much, until he got hired by a Noblemare to work with her other cook, and he happily took the job, and was very excited to see how much his employer enjoyed his cooking. But after some time, he started to hang out with the other cook, becoming very close with her, since they worked together constantly. Nowadays the stallion's seen wandering the stores in Canterlot for rarer ingredients for dishes, or just relaxing at a cafe.

Personality: Kind, lighthearted, rather flirty at times. This stallion is always up for a bit of fun if there's nothing else to do, be it some games, a bit of drinking, or other things.

Current Home: Canterlot, though he travels a lot.

Misc: He is a cuddler.

Specialty (eg. special spells, unique powers etc): He has learned how to shape shift and look into a person's emotions. Leaf can also focus his magical energy over his body or any object he is currently holding in order to create a razor sharp edge over it. The edge normally equates to a regular razor though can be sharpened while also being able to grow to the size of a short sword. He knows some forms of combat, plays some sports, and knows various spell. He also just have the strange way in nothing small details.
Weaknesses: Shape shifting is something that he constantly has to think about in order to maintain. His control does well for regular conversation, but high levels of physical activity makes it start to fade. The majority of his spells are to show off with and to please guests whenever he has to.
Occupation: Student at Celestia's School of Gifted Unicorns
Gear: He tends to keep a pair of glasses on him
History: He was the result of a noble getting with an ambassador of Equestria when the private meeting between the two got intimate. He was born and raised by the two though as the years passed, they taught him how to fit the roles that he would have to live in because of who his parents were. Leaf gladly learned these things and naturally learned to be suspicious from overhearing conversations between his parents. Normally only had a few select friends though he always preferred to be by himself. He has grown to a fine looking stallion and is working to make a name for himself in Canterlot as a bright young stallion that most know very little about.
Personality: He tends to keep quiet and simply listen to things instead of contributing though questions what be doesn't understand. He is also fairly competitive and loves a friendly rivalry to make things interesting. He is a determined individual and also gets possessive over people he cares about. Also, he tends to keep tabs on people at all times in order to make sure he's prepared for whatever situation he's in.

Specialty (eg. special spells, unique powers etc): Climbing, appraisal, traps, and a small ability for communicating with animals. Can also make healing potions, but nothing very powerful and she needs to find a book for other types. Uses mind tricks to battle.

Weaknesses: Not very physically strong. Instead, as mentioned above, relies on spells, traps, and manipulation. If someone were to cancel her magic, she would be largely defenseless. However, she could still learn to use a weapon, given time.

Occupation: Traveling merchant. Usually works alone.

Gear: A worn hood, a saddle bag, and a story book.

History: When Shadow was seven years old, she got lost in the Everfree Forest. She made it through the night without any confrontation, besides the occasional squirrel. The next morning, she was found by a batpony named Beat, who took her in without a second thought. Shadow would later learn that Beat had lost her husband hours before, and couldn't raise their son, a tiny colt named Clover, on her own. In fact, whenever Clover asked about his lineage, Beat would simply reply that he was loved very much.
Shadow grew up as part of the family, training to survive in the wild. Clover looked up to her, and Beat was a brilliant teacher. Still, she never felt she was really one of them. They had scars, and she didn't. They were meant for this life, and she had trouble with even basic hunting. She didn't fit. Years later, she decided to get them to see the world beyond. Things went well at first; they went to a medicine maker on the edge of the forest, who connected them to a traveling showmare.
Then Clover discovered his talent for alchemy. He stayed with Zecora to hone this skill while the others went with Trixie. Unfortunately, Beat couldn't handle the culture clash, and with Trixie moving along her own way, Shadow was left to stabilize her mentor's panic attacks.
A few days later, they made their way back to Zecora, only to find that Clover was having a similar mental struggle. Trixie had come straight back after dropping them off, and the contrast between the two adults was too much. Beat certainly wasn't the wisest of ponies, but she was his golden standard for everyone her age. How could there be someone more experienced then his teacher? How could there be a grown-up who acted like a child?
Eventually Clover's problems were resolved, but Beat was never able to be a part of society. She's lived in the wild longer than she could remember. Shadow moved on, while her family stayed with Zecora. However, Trixie's lifestyle was somehow more appealing to her, and she eventually decided to become a merchant. Once in a while, she visits her family to tell them about the world beyond.
Before entering the forest, she was one of the youngest in a family of rich, enigmatic ponies who, as far as she learned, didn't even miss a beat when she couldn't be found. She has very little memory of them, but she does remember being trained skills similar to what one would expect from a crime ring, for instance, how to detect lies and carry pills from one location to another without being caught. She's lost these skills, for the most part.

Personality: Reclusive, intuitive, and intelligent. Loves to read, although mostly fiction. Very brave when faced with things that should instinctually scare her; for instance, the dark or the thought of monsters. She's acclimatized to those, although is still affected by social fears.

Current Home: Wherever she decides to set up next.

Misc: Has a soft spot for animals, especially cats. Will not leave her hood for anything; it is her one material memory of her old life (in the forest, not early childhood. She's pretty eager to give that up).

Khaos, you're better than this. After Sword pulled a stunt to screw with the rest of the admins, I can sort of grin and bear obviously absurd characters that aren't there to be approved, but just represent someone trying to lighten the mood. The reason I know this is that I've read all your other characters and know how you try to drive me to the edge of the roof with a noose around my neck. Distinguishing Features: The symbols on his body tend to move around as they use magic, this is their grimoire body searching for the spell. It takes no longer than 5 seconds for him to find any spell in existence and cast it.

Gear: Pure White contacts to hide the constant scramble of words uploading itself into their body. A rather soft, grey thin hood that covers most all their body.
History: As a foal Notebook found a love of books and scroll, which were supposed to be for the Unicorn schools. He loved the power his race had within their hooves. He loved the thought of flying in the clouds above. However, despite his love for such things he was not a user of magic, nor could he fly. He was born to a family of peach tree farmers who discouraged his love of knowledge, and forced him to work the farm. Knowledge is a beckoning force though, and he was unable to resist the callings.
As he worked her would read his books and learn, to read and write, to the point that in his days that he was fluent in every language known at that time period, he had reached his late teenage years by this point. Many quickly came to learn of him as a farmer of great knowledge of both the earth and the science of several magics, as well as his historical and linguistic knowledge of many races. As such many settlements offered him simple jobs, to record and keep track of all books in their libraries. He promptly denied this as he was content with his life.
As he continued to gain knowledge and requests of service, of which he promptly denied, he got a request which caught his eye. One sealed in the wax stamp of Karminica a unicorn known for her magical exploration and research as well as, for the shadier parts of town as a goddess of fate, not to be trifled or denied as she was a benevolent and wrathful magic user whose very talent was fate itself. It asked if he loved magic enough to lust for it, if he lusted for all knowledge he could ever wish for. Knowing he was unable to refuse out of wisdom and genuine curiosity he met with her in the outskirts of canterlot. She offered him a proposal, become the author of her cult, and a devoted follower for the rest of existence, and she would give him the means to know or do anything he could not, or did not. Knowing full well saying no would be his death he accepted. He was given an experimental type of unicorn magic, books enchanted to cast spells for their users through verbal incantation of mental recitals so long as they held the book. He became addicted to it, along with writing the intoxicating teachings of his mistress. His benevolent and wrathful goddess. Her physical form was no longer a factor to his mind as it melted away under the knowledge he held. He was the first and only priest of Karma to be named before the cult was disbanded by decree of the princesses and the capture of Karminica, his Mistress.
After her death he continued to spread the teachings of Mistress Karma and all her glory, along with experimenting upon his knowledge to create better grimoires, what was once a simple peach farmer, and admirer of knowledge and magic, was now a knowledge hungry cultist priest. He improved upon the experimental magic, until he reached his best epiphany yet, becoming the grimoire, become all written knowledge. Writing his own algorithm of spell based off everything he knew. When he read the incantation he fused with the grimoires that sprawled around him. He became the written knowledge of every word, and everything written, his knowledge archivable in its extensiveness.
When he was discovered he was crumpled mess that couldn't even speak correctly. They received what they knew as the wrath of their goddess, and the touch of harmony given to them saved them from becoming a mindless drone amongst ponies and all that followed. They forced themselves to become comprehensible, to cope with their new existence as a thing, not a pony, despite being able to change through various formats of such a thing. He gained work at the Canterlot Library and Archives as a Librarian, of which he became the sole spirit to keep track of.
Personality: Literal, does not begin to describe Note as he does not understand the actual verbal use of sarcasm or jokes, asserted by others around him as he doesn't find it funny. He enjoys the simplicity of helping others in most anyway he can, which is to say many ways. Though he is not a good liar, thief, or bargainer, seeing as he is easily lied to, or swindled out of money.
He hates it when people cry, and hates himself for being too blunt, or incapable of fixing such issues. He still enjoys hard work in the field and every harvest season leaves the library and visits the peach farm he grew up on and takes a crate of fresh peaches. Paying for it with triple the cost of the actual crate, without actually revealing his face. And then harvesting a crate to replace it.

Specialty (eg. special spells, unique powers etc): Misha is a very strong minotaur, and has rather spot-on aim with his shotgun, but he prefers to not use the shotgun often, as he is big and strong enough to deter any thoughts of fighting around him.

Weaknesses: Though he is very big and strong, the minotaur is rather slow in comparison to most.

Occupation: Carpenter.

Gear: He wears shorts and a plaid button-up shirt at most times, and most of the time carries a double-barrel shotgun with him, and plenty of ammo, both buckshot and slugs. But his back pockets have storage enchantments, one for his ammo, and the other pocket has about a dozen spare shirts at any one time, for reasons only known to him and those who hang around him long enough.

History: Misha was born and raised by his parents out in the mountains, where he grew up learning about living out in the wild, rather far from the closest town, and learned very, very quickly how to keep away from the bigger threats out in the woods. When he got old enough, he got himself an axe and traveled out to the edge of the Whitetail, felling a dozen or so trees and building his own home there. And for years, he traveled between his cabin and the closest town to see about getting work, as he was very good with building things, carpentry being something he picked up, and something he needed to know when he built his home. Nowadays, he's happy to meet new people, and always enjoys conversation with others.

Personality: Misha is a very kind and friendly person, no matter who you are, unless you are mean to him or his friends, that's when he gets a little violent.
