Tour of the Dead ship (private)

"Alright, alright. Guess there's some benefits to taking the long way round," Zen said shifting his scythe to his right hand and proceeding with the left hand first into the side corridor Plasma showed. Once inside, he waited for Plasma to lead on.

Crawling through the corridors, the only light being from his helmet, he caught a glimpse of a bladed arm. Taking out his cutter and slowly making his way to the blade, the creature yelled and rushed through the corridor in reverse; making all sorts of noise throughout until it suddenly stopped with something breaking. Soon he made his way through to the cannon nest, though when he climbed out he was immediately assaulted by one of the creatures, it grappled him and begun attempting to repeatedly impale him. After a brief struggle, he managed to counter the grapple and take it's head off; deaf, blind and unable to smell him, it began swinging wildly across the room, almost clipping Zen when he came out. Stream quickly aimed his cutter and began firing shots into its arms, taking each off in a single shot, and then aimed for the legs and took those off too. With the surprise now taken care of, he sat in the seat for cannon 47 and said "watch what I do as I explain"
He began moving the joysticks in different directions, testing out the operation of the guns, also making sure that Zen was paying attention. He said "see? just move these around until the gun moves over your target, then press the button up top here to fire, it's easy"

Zen had grinned at the chance of finally taking on one of these things, but it was to his chagrin that it was already dealt with by the time he appeared. Shrugging the loss off, Zen settled to take out some of the destructive urges on whatever it was they were supposed to be shooting with the cannons...

"Hey, what are we trying to take out with these things anyways?" He asked after taking the other gunner's seat and spinning it around a little to start getting a feel for the controls.

"Rocks, big enough to make the hole that contact beam makes look like nothing, it they get hit this ship will be torn apart. We need to destroy them before they can hit the ship, the more the better" Stream said, followed by Firefox coming up and saying "We're headed through the asteroid field, you better be ready"

"Wonderful," Zen replied sarcastically as he continued fiddling around with the controls. As a few large rocks came in to view, he managed to render them into almost nothing with a few shots, after a few misses.

As Zen continued taking errant shots at the flying boulders, he called out, "dang a few sets of these would have been a god send on the Celerity." As he spoke, one faster flying boulder managed to sail work it's way past his turrets, but after a quick curse under his breath, the rock changed it's course, narrowly missing the hull. After that near slip, Zen kept quiet while continuing to destroy more asteroids.

"Guess the gravity tethers also help with deflecting asteroids, Firefox always has been a resourceful one. And yes, these types of cannons are a real choice of pick among scavengers and salvagers thanks to their power and efficiency" Stream said as he began putting his shots downrange, expertly hitting his targets until they were harmless rubble.

"Yeah, gravity tethers," Zen muttered under his breath. "So how long are we going to have to do this?" Zen asked as he continued blasting away rocks.

"Either until we are out of the field or until Fox can bring the gun's automatic systems back up, both of which are probably very time consuming" He continued hitting the rocks as he called up Fox and said "Fox, how close are you to bringing these cannons online?"

"Just a couple minutes"

"Excellent" Stream closed the channel and said "well, there's your window"

"Cool, don't personally care for having to devote this much attention to a specific direction when you've made it quite clear that there are lots of creatures that have very little resistance on reaching just about any place on this ship." Zen replied blasting a few more of the asteroids away.

"I don't either, 'specially when that bastard over there nearly took my arm off when I came out, these places are usually safe but as you saw, that's not always the case" Stream replied, continuing to obliterate the incoming asteroids.

"Hmmm, given that information, cover me for a sec," Zen said suddenly getting up from his seat and setting about doing something that Plasma couldn't see. After a few minutes of looking about, he found the things he was hunting for. The various vents and passages that led into the room.

Quickly whipping the scythe off his back and spinning it around in a couple quick slashes, Zen soon had portals leading into his pocket dimension in front of every vent, door, or similar thing. With the simple, but formidable defense up, Zen sat back down to continue destroying asteroids with Plasma.

"Gonna guess you have some sort of fancy magic trap set up for them? And that maintenance hatch is our only way in or out of here unless something decides to pay us a visit through the wall" Stream said when he saw Zen get up, but didn't think much on it until his controls stopped working, Firefox coming up and saying "Got it, you're good to go to Hydroponi- *beep beep beep* hold on a sec... that's odd, there's something coming in from the field"

"More rocks?"

"Negative, listen:
This is the USM Vengeance to USG Constellation, power down all weapon systems and prepare to be boarded
That doesn't sound very warm to me"

"What I want to know is how they found us"

"If I meet them I'll ask, for now, get to Hydroponics and kill whatever's contaminating the air on this ship, Fox out" The screen disappeared as both cannon nest began firing at any remaining rocks on a course for the Constellation. Getting up from his seat he began "Ok Zen, undo what you did to the hatch, we're done here-" but was cut off when something started whispering in his ear, the speech unintelligible, though when it stopped whispering he looked back out to space and saw something that made the blood drain from his face.

Zen nodded at the instruction, and with nothing more than a glance at the openings, then ceased existing. "There, we're free to..." Zen trailed off as he noticed Plasma was looking away and quite disturbed. "What is it?" Zen asked looking off towards the same direction as Plasma was.

Staring back at them through the window of cannon 47 was a creature Stream fought once before. Standing out there was Titan, it's head looking at them upside-down, the thing had a vaguely pony-shaped head with two huge mandibles the size of a pony's arm sticking out of either side. It tried roaring at the window, causing large amounts of spittle to come out and hit the window, Stream said stressfully and quietly "Zen, whatever you did to the hatch, remove it now!"

"Way ahead of you, but if I may offer a suggestion. Short cut back to the room before the stroll outside," Zen said bringing his scythe back up again to create a new portal, or well pair of portals, the first leading from where they were into the void, and then the second one leading from the void back to the room where Zen had entered this dimension from. "Step lively now, that thing looks pissed." he called already moving towards the new opening.

"That would be a good idea" Stream said as he hurried after Zen, but the creature had other plans. With a resounding crash the monster forced one of it's massive arms through the nigh-bulletproof glass and latched onto his leg, causing the room to lose atmosphere as it dragged him out into space. Stream fired frantically at the creature, trying to find any sort of chink or weakpoint in it's armor, but then he got an idea. Taking out another one of his tools, he aimed right at the creature and shot a grenade into it's face, stunning it for a few seconds and forcing it to throw him away to get the bright light out of it's eyes. Whether lady luck had smiled upon him or not, he was thrown through a window in the flight lounge; only a few doors away from where the safe spot was. He waited for the breach to seal before trekking on and found Zen waiting there, waiting for him to come through. Stream coughed slightly to get his attention and said "Titan had other plans for me"

"So I saw. These portals are more like windows than doors. Just because I'm on the other side, doesn't mean I can't look back though them. Honestly thought you were dead for a moment." Zen replied as he turned around. "But because they're like that, I can't just open them in the middle of space and such as well as having to close that one when you got yanked out of the room," he continued swinging the scythe about to once again rest on his shoulder.

"Though I can also say I wasn't bored," Zen added pointing over his shoulder towards a couple of well decimated corpses. Each one sported a severed leg, a large cut severing the torso from the waist, and similar cuts to the neck and shoulders leaving them little more than heaps of flesh. "You weren't kidding when you said they didn't like to stay dead. First the leg, then the chest, then the arms. Got the heads just to make sure in the end."

"Either way, where to next?"

"We're headed for Hydroponics, finally going to get a chance to kill whatever's polluting the atmosphere" Stream said as he opened the elevator door leading down.

Zen took the hint to have the metal helmet reassemble itself and moved to follow Plasma onto the elevator. "Down we go, hehehe."

They descended down the elevator, noticing the air gaining a slightly greener tinge the further down they went. When the elevator let them off the tinge was replaced with green dust-like particulates; flooding the elevator like a wave. Stream said sarcastically "and I thought smoking was bad for your health..."

"Heh, yeah no kidding," Zen replied, though the comment seemed rather off-handed. "This is just too much like some times long since past for me." Zen continued as he moved off the elevator and got his scythe ready.

A beginning to become familiar roar resounded out near by, but the echo's made it almost impossible to tell where it'd come from. The creature didn't waste time in dragging itself out of a nearby vent and proceeding to charge at Zen and Plasma.

Though it's charge was cut short as a blade of condensed magical energy that slammed into it's chest that pushed the creature back to the wall before forcing it's way through it, cutting the creature in half. As the upper half began pulling itself towards them, Zen asked "you want to finish this one?"

"I don't see why not" Stream replied as he cut off one of the limbs to it, picked up the blade from it with some sort of bluish-white field, then violently let it  go; slamming into the creature and pinning it against a wall where it continued to thrash about until stream cut the other limb off and smashed it's head with the second blade, bits of brain matter spilling out around the gaping wound; rotten and half-boiled. Stream silently thanked his suit for having an air-tight helmet as the smell would have likely been horrid

"So where to, engineer?" Zen asked with a smirk as he turned away from the now very dead creature. "The atmosphere of the place was rather disturbing, but surprisingly enough, he'd seen something similar before hand.

"One moment..." Stream said as he held out his hand, parallel to the ground, watching as a blue line formed on the ground, pointing to a nearby door. Stream dropped his hand and said "That way"

"Now that seems helpful," Zen replied as he moved to follow Stream. The scythe resting on his shoulder lying ready to swing at the next monster to appear.
