As the fighting settled down, so did Sugary as he stopped casting spells and stood quietly once more, looking all over for other signs of conflict. "Excellently done, everyone; Now, did anyone happen to see any distinguishing features about them? Might be worth remembering them for later..." He also occasionally looked to the ground, particularly for anything remotely shiny.

As the beasts retreated into the woods, pyro put away his equipment with a twirl before looking over to sugary and said " those things did not seem to be affected to much by elemental attacks it seems"

Faelyn snuggles Cynder, "Not a big fan of the ghosties and the ghoulies?" She backs off after a bit though, putting her things away. "I didn't notice anything particularly odd. They went boom well enough though."

Cynder huffed and lets her arms fall to her side. "What were those things? They didn't look like ghosts..." She says, starting to walk again. "Come on, let's keep moving." Cynder leads the way down the trail, through the forest and eventually to the front of the large pyramid. The large doors at the front of it are shut, the stone seemingly the only thing blocking their passage. "Artifact should be in there."

"so, how do we enter? bust the door open or find a switch or key to open it?" pyro asked as the Group reached the temple proper, looking around as he was looking for a rune to possibly bust trough

Alas, all Sugary could find was a shiny pebble. But it was pretty, so he took it with him and moved on. "Maybe they were not ghosts, but they moved like they've gone and come from beyond... Either way, they were hostile."

Along the way, he had admired Faelyn briefly with a smile. "By the way, that was very vigorous music. I'd love to hear some more of it soon! It sure gets me pumped!" And now that they were before the temple, he mostly looked around as well. Then, he began to poke the stone here and there with the stick. "Anything sound hollow to you guys around here?"

Faelyn shrugs, "It looks a little shabby, but it sure is a lot of food. I mean, a big door. Has anyone checked it to see if it's open?" As she asks, she personally pushes at it to see if it's open.

As Faelyn pushes the door, she finds that it opens quite easily, making a soft scraping noise as it does so. Cynder looks curiously and checks her surroundings before helping open the door. The inside was stone, just as the rest was. A large, cavernous room greeted the adventurers, torches lit themselves, and in the back of this large room sat a pedestal, on which stood the small feline idol they were searching for. "There it is!"

"that is the thing we are after? there must traps in here, there is no way it could be this easy to get to that idol" pyro said, feeling very skeptical that its just go in, take the idol and go out.

pyro looked over att sugary and faelyn and asked " do you 2 feel anything special in this area, like traps or auras or something, anything?"

Sugary was slackjawed that the door did in fact open so easily for what it was. He looked at the door and Faelyn time and again as they went in. "Uh... So, do you work out often?" He teased, since he wasn't sure why a door would be that easy to get through. Then, he had a gamble of a thought as the idol was in view. "Say... Maybe it is that easy? I mean... whose to say there aren't other greater treasure around here with more value?" He left it all up to chance, and walked over to the pedestal slowly, intent on just grabbing the idol... His heart raced the closer he got...

Faelyn flexxed as Sugary mentioned her working out with a giggle, then eyeballed the cat idol. She felt a mixture of bad feeling, and hunger. The idol being made out of precious gemstone would do that for the lavamare anthro. She decided the best course of action would be to stay close to Cynder, as she had a big shiny sword to swing away the bad guys.

Temple Run - Page 3 Empty

From out of nowhere

As Sugary took another step, only inches away from grabbing the idol, his foot would suddenly drop about at inch as he steps on a pressure plate. The pedestal holding the idol suddenly shot upwards out of the reach of anyone, and the floor would start to sink as the large stone doors slammed shut. They were trapped now. As the floor continued to sink, on the wall which contained their exit, a metal grate appeared. The floor stops several feet down, the doors now also out of reach and the grate turned out to be a gate, behind which something growled.

"It was trapped!" Cynder points out the obvious as she draws her sword again. She looks around at her friends, and then to the source of the growling, positioning herself at the front to tank it out. The grate then drops open, and out of it crawls what can only be described as some sort of large cat, if cats were black and gross and spiny with smoking yellow eyes that looked straight at the adventurers.

"i told you it could be trapped, i gosh darned told you!!" pyro exclaimed att sugary angrily as he went for the idol without second thought as the idol was sent uppwards on the pedestal and with the door closing behind them and the floor sinking down several feet along with the gate now appearing into view where the growling came from.

pyro was in a rather hot-headed mood and with cynder now calling out the obvious, it didint realy help his temper and replied "yes cynder, we noticed!" and with the gate now opening and releasing the feline-like beast "you have got to be kidding me now! thats it!" he said, his armor pieces now vissible but in a burst of flames, even he was radiating with slight heat around him as was using his fire rune, he also drew forth a fire blade from a rune and even summoning copies 10 of himself, they being noticeable in being less armored but they where enough to deal some damage and draw agro from his companions

Sugary tried to use magic to pull the idol towards him, but nothing conventional seemed to work as it just shot upwards with the pillar as they went down. "... Figures." He looked rather vexed at being the one to activate the trap. "Well, better me to show the way it goes..." Oddly enough, he smiled at Pyro's frustration. "You get used to these things. Now the question is how you plan to deal with Tiny there." Since he just made one step in classic dungeon adventuring, he went about letting Pyro and Cynder take charge in the fight while he searched the walls for more things to touch. He believed in the strength of his companions, really. He was watching and listening if they needed his help.

Faelyn took in a big gulp of air and attempted, very cutely, to look big and scary as a fire elemental. The best she could do was burn bright enough to cast light around her, and make the air a bit warmer. But, she was also made of magma and fire, and the cat thing probably wouldn't know the difference, right?

The large beast hissed at Pyro's sudden multiplication, eyes darting between the many copies. The apparent spines on its grizzly back stood on end, sharp points threateningly quivering. Then it lunged! Straight for Pyro and his copies.

Cynder side stepped in the way of it and gave her sword an overhand swing, clipping off a few spines, but she was quickly batted away and hissed at as she fell to the ground, stunned from that hit.

With the beast attacking fast, Sugary kept alert while still seeking out for an exit option as he kept prodding the walls and flooring. He then saw from the corner of his eye that Cynder took a hit, and he assisted by cushioning her fall with magic, gently pulling her back and bit and back on her legs. "Are you okay? If you can't handle it, let me take your place." He didn't want to risk them staying around for too long in the trap area. Who knew how much longer before more showed up? He'd also try going around the beast towards the place it came out of and see if an exit was available there.

with a quick handsignal, pyro's copies stod in 2 lines infront of thier master, one half holding melee weapons charging the beasts and the other half attacked with ranged magic bolts rangeing from poison, cold, fire and lightning, with pyro himself buffing his copies, companions and himself with a damage boost and health regen as he charged aswell with his fireblade with a battle cry

Faelyn was a bit at a loss as to what to do. She didn't want to be in the big swirly vortex of bad, but she also didn't want to be absolutely useless. In the end, she came to rest by Market, passively illuminating everything with a warm glow.

The creature hisses at Pyro, though it seems to be resistant to his magic. He presses forward, the magic hitting the creature and staggering its approach. Cynder got back on her feet with thanks to Sugary and got back into the fray, swinging her large sword at the beast.

Sugary would have luck finding another pressure plate, a red symbol lighting up on the stone. And then, on multiple random spots on the floor, the same symbol, but larger, lit up on the floor, burned brighter, and then burst into a pillar of fire that shot up to the ceiling of the room intensely, burning anything in it's path.

with pyro's melee clones and himself charging towards the beast and his ranged spellcaster clones laying down supresion fire with thier elemental bolts, they would aporach the beast head on, that is if it where not for the fire trap sugary unknowinly trigerd.

A sigil appeard right under the charging Group, the melee clones noticed it and dodged out of the way, pyro on the other hand was right in the middle of the fire symbol when it burst into a fire pillar, sending him upp into the air above the beast with a "yeaaaaihh!!!", scorched but generaly not to harmed as his fire rune granted him better recistance from the same elemental attacks against him while the clones engaged the beast with slashes and slams from hammers, swords and blades, pyro would then come attacking from above with ranges fire slashes with his fire blade,

Sugary grumbled as the next trap activated, and worried about Pyro for a time until he sprung out from the flames well enough. it was then that he got an idea and smiled as he looked to Faelyn. "Faelyn, good timing! Can you help me adjust this? I think we can turn this into an opportunity." His hand began to form a set of basic runic symbols around his fingers before placing them over the wall with the sign. "I think I can get this to redirect the fires at the creature from below while the others attack."

Faelyn nods as a jet goes right through her, passing harmlessly. Her stomache rumbles as she processes her food faster, so she fishes a piece of charcoal out and noms it quick. "Tell me what to do."

Sugary quickly gestured for Faelyn to place her arm on the wall next to his hand. "I need you to help me find the best way to aim those pillars of fire against that beast. Figured an Elemental could feel her way through this enchantment a bit better than I."

She nodded and put her hooves on tile. In truth, she didn't have a lot of trainning for this sort of thing. But she could feel it at work. In her head, it was like there were wires to puppet the flaming death marionette of a trap behind her. She just wasn't going to be getting it right away. She cautiously began pulling one of the strings she thought might work.
