Training Grounds

Blade did not turn around and instead he let his construct fade so he could land on top of one of the trees. The construct did not seem to change or alter because the activation of the ruins. Soon, Blade turned around an looked over at Zen which caused the construct to constrict on the runes. The idea was to either cause the runes to be crushed or destroy them by the blast Zen would have to make to get it off.

Seeing that ice wasn't doing much to the goo like substance, Zen began to back peddle a little in the air away from Blade to continue trying to remove the gunk without interruption. For his second attempt at removing the substance, he brought the other sword that was crackling with electricity into contact with the goo covered blade, seeing if the addition of electricity to cold would do anything.

Something of note however would be how the backs of the blades merged perfectly with each other. Together forming a new double edged sword whose runes actually seemed to merge together into a new pattern.

Check Mate walked in stoically, as he always did when entering combat. His sword was tucked away safely under his black trench coat, but his eyes shot daggers at any who dared look into them. His broken shackles clinked as he walked up to the reception desk. Fighting was serious business for him, and while he knew how to enjoy it, he also knew that he needed training. This place would be perfect.

The dark pony sitting at the desk looked up from the laptop he was typing on to look over at Chest. The stallion at the desk didnt seem to mind Chest's gaze though he did give a small amount of attention to the shackles. "You need someone to fight with?" He asked quickly before he moved his eyes back to his work and waited for the stallion to respond. "Also, are you an ex-convict or convict? If not then I apologize for the misunderstanding."

Blade dropped down and onto the ground as Zen flew away from him. It was good to be on the ground again. Soon, he felt his construct break and shatter before it faded. As he glanced over at Zen he saw that he had put his two blades together. While he couldn't see the runes from where he was he knew the weapon had gotten stronger.

The stallion started to run further into the forest and hopily get out of sight. He kept an eye open for any portals opening up around him as well.

Annoyed by the goo's persistence at staying attached to his swords, Zen settled for more drastic measures. Shifting the combined blade into one hoof, Zen reached out with his other hoof into the pocket dimension to quickly withdraw a small black stone. As he withdrew his hoof rather quickly from the small portal, it slammed shut almost quick enough to risk injury to Zen. Once free from the void space, Zen held the powerful magic draining void stone next to the goo, hoping that it would break down the simple magic and drain it away quickly. After all, the longer Zen held the stone, the more it seemed to burn his hoof as it ate away at his very being which for the moment could be seen as a slowly spreading blackened section of hoof closest to the void stone.

In moments, the stone had done it's work and the goo was drained away. Zen then wasted little time in tossing the stone into the air before cutting open a new larger portal for it to fall into, which the stone closed as it fell through. As Zen cast a slightly concerned look to his now seemingly burned hoof, he separated the swords and took off to try and find Blade again. Soon spotting his opponent, Zen began to dive with both swords held in front of him at Blade.

Blade soon felt his construct to be fading and paused as Zen sucked it away in some sort of rock. He watched this for a moment and slowly started to move away in a slow pace. His hoof touching any tree close to drain a little energy from which caused the bark to die a little. Soon, Zen was falling towards him and Blade only continued his slow pace backwards.

His body began to glow as another construct formed around his body. He stopped now and layered the construct with four others, which gave him five layers of protection. Once, Zen was almost on top off him his first three layers expanded outwards and opened a little to let his opennet to fall in and soon late his other layers to expand onto Zen's body to smush him between them.

As soon as the layers closed above Zen, he cut a portal open above him and simultaneously to Blades left. And as the under layers expanded outwards, he used it to give him extra momentum and basically push him through the tears in reality with one sword aimed at Blade's side. Managing to avoid being crushed, and counter attacking in one fluid motion.

Blade smiled as Zen fell into the layers, but heard a tearing coming from his left. He turned to see the portal that formed and the sword that was coming down on him. He did a quick roll to the right and avoided the strike even though his armor would have protected against the attack. As he landed he turned a blasted a bolt of energy at Zen and created another layer around himself.

For once, the attack was too close for Zen to react. The blast slammed into him and sent the pegasi tumbling backward towards the edge of the floating island. Zen ended his tumble on his rump looking around a little clueless for a moment before chuckling and going ahead to lean back so he simply fell off the edge of the floating island.

Zen didn't remain out of sight for long though, as within mere moments of falling back, he was suddenly falling towards Blade from above where a new portal opened. Both swords Zen had were then swung about in a flurry of attacks, the runes along each beginning to glow as the flurry continued until each was trailing it's respective element with every swing.

Blade created another construct around his body, expecting Zen to fly up or create another portal to go on the attack. His eyes darted back and forth as he until he saw the pegasus appear above him. The guard expanded his construct as stepped of the it so it become a wall in front of him as he was caught off guard by the sudden attack. His horn ready to make another blast of energy for when Zen broke through or be able to fire if Zen went around it.

Seeing his flurry unable to touch Blade by the wall of energy, Zen did the Zen thing to do and made a fresh portal, or rather a series of them. Two portals for each sword so the sword blades was displaced past the barrier and able to continue on their series of strikes against Blade. The enchanted weapons still trailing their respective elements of ice and lightning as the runes held a steady charge. At least until they merged together near the end of the quick flurry and unleashed the magic charged together as a combined blast of ice and lightning that raced towards their target.

Elsi grinned as she found the Training Grounds finally. The pirate easily finding her place inside the building of fighters. The only problem for the multi-shaded brown griffon was finding a opponent. She had been warned about the strange powers that some utilized as a weapon of fighting, so taking the easy way of deciding she woke Sweeps up.

Just find somebody now that you have awoken me from min slumber I can help.

lightning glided close and walked to the training grounds, her previous fight was to close and sparing seemed to be the best option. she looked around and spotted elsa, taking a deep breath she approached. "hello there, are you here to fight any pony specifically?" she asked with a steady face.

” No we aren't trying to be picky. A simple spar is all we look for before returning to the Captain to set off.” Elsi replied plainly. Holding out her paw in a friendly gesture.

This is our chance to fight! Lets go! Lets go! Lets go!

she raised her hand and met the griffons paw "well then, i guess i am viable, two questions first. one, do you have any certain rules? and two, how do we.. you know, do this, like do we need to speak to someone?"

"Go into a door and pciture the place you want to fight." A dark stallion said as he continued to type on his laptop, not even looking at the other two. "You two can set the pain setting between you two by yelling a certain number, any number through 1-10, ten being the most painful and a simple punch can cause black outs from pain. This can only be done when you two both agree on the change of setting, since everything is the same unless changed by you two. Another questions?" He asked as he finally glanced over at the two.

"what would adverage pain level be, five?" the mare asked and then followed with. "and is the room like a didgital simulation, in other words, can you die?" she once again asked with a very a smile showing through a serious face.

"Yes, Five is the base and no, you cant die. You will be transported out of the room after one of you loses or simply after you two decide to leave. Anything that was damaged in the room will be repair after you arrive back her that inculdes damaged items, equipment and injures of any kind." He said as moved his attention back his laptop, assuming that the mare's questions had been answered.

lightning nodded and turned back to the griffon, fully happy with his awnser. "so what do you say, up for the fight?" she asked elsi.

How could we say no to that. We don't have to worry about shooting ya!” Rubbing her cuffs and started feeling the pain of the transformation happen her body almost doubled in size her wings seeming to break and heal in several places as the grew larger as well. Elsi in their mind slowly slipped inti the mind and Sweeps broke forth, with a final cry of pain the griffon had morphed.

” Okay lassy lets go! Im ready, your ready and im calling your new dibs concept on choosing location. Im Sweeps.”

"I'm lightning and that's cool with me" the anthropomorphic festral said with an excitement seeping through her steadiness.

”Good to hear lass.” Sweeps said as he flung himself through the door of the arena. A large town appearing inside the room as if ut had always been the size of said town. It was full of cottage like houses and around the town were various alleys and streets.

the festral followed suit, and as soon as she saw the town she began to laugh with true joy. "i dont know how you knew but this is just perfect, now, do you have any rules for us or are we to bow and go?" she asked as she took to the air and hovered.

” Ei Lass. Just that it stay regular weapons to regular weapons.” Sweeps said disappearing into the catacomb of backalleys not a sound to be heard.
