Blade quickly stepped back as he saw the portals open, the trails nearly hitting him. He kept backstepping until he was a good distance away from their reach. Soon, the blast of energy was sent towards him and after adding some more energy into his body he rolled to the left and barely managed to the strike. The armored pony looked over at Zen and let his construct wrap around him as his weapons were on the other side of the portals.

When Zen saw the wall begin to wrap around him he groaned. He then expanded the portal his combined sword were already going though to the point where he could fit without cutting it, and stepped through. Once on the other side and out of the construct, Zen coughed a couple times, a few droplets of blood spraying onto the ground.

"Heh, that could have been a lot worse if I didn't already have a portal open," he remarked before launching himself at Blade. The combined sword was aimed as a stab held in one hoof while the other hoof was drawn back like it was going to strike normally. "You can't catch me Blade, but let's see if I can catch you," he said once he got closer. Zen's hoof that was pulled back suddenly went into a small portal and came back drawing the scythe. As the weapon was ripped from the pocket dimension, it was swung around so that the wickedly curved blade was actually behind Blade and being pulled towards him while the stabbing sword was shooting forward. While the tactic did bar movement to the front, back, and Blade's left, the right was still open since the scythe only had so much of a curve to it.

Blade quickly poured power into his body as Zen charged, Blade's eyes glowed a bright green for a brief moment. He quickly placed his right hoof onto the long handle of the scythe after it was swung at him and placed his other hoof further onto the weapon. He quickly swung violently to the left to get Zen to fly off into the direction or to simply have Zen to be knocked off balance. The blade could still hit him, but he hoped his armor would lessen the blow.

Zen didn't even try to resist the movement, and simply continued to stab forward with the combined sickle sword until it hit it's mark. In an attempt to make the attack just a little more powerful even, Zen activated the newly combined ice and electricity elemented runes along the conjoined blades, coating their edges in the magical energies. Even still, the weapon would only pierce so far past the armor Blade coated himself in, if at all.

So after his stab, while being swung outward, Zen kept his grip on the scythe tight so there wouldn't be any additional leverage working against him in his next attack. Then with a quick flap of his wings, Zen pulled up on his grip on the scythe and planted his hooves hard into the ground while still turning to continued the swinging motion of the scythe with his body as the new fulcrum and the curved blade set to catch Blade as it passed on by in a cruel horizontal slash.

Blade's armor was pierced by the sword and left a small gash into the stallion's left shoulder. It wasnt anything to worry about, but there was still a small tickle of blood coming from the wound. He kept his hooves onto the scythe and held onto it tightly, it only tightening as the electrict current passed through his armor. He managed to hold onto the scythe enough so that he skidded over to the left and then fell due to be knocked of balance. Blade pulled onto the scythe with strength that was beyond that of an average unicorn as his horn lite up.

Again, Zen found himself being thrown around, and again he didn't try to resist, though the comparison to a rag doll did bubble up in his mind during this brief aerial venture. That is right before the ground invaded his sight. Acting on instinct rather than rational thought, Zen forced open a portal and dove into the pocket dimension, coughing up blood immediately. Once inside though he adjusted the size of the hole so that only his scythe would fit through, let go of his conjoined swords so they simply floated in the void space, seized the scythes shaft and yanked on it like a lever in an attempt to pull Blade over the too small/thin opening with the curved blade of the scythe curling around his middle.

Opening a couple small holes back to the arena so his hooves would have some bracing, Zen then yanked on the shaft in an attempt to guillotine Blade through the middle. The runes along the blade of the scythe also began to glow, the brightness rapidly increasing as magic built up normally and was poured into it by Zen. Even if the scythe didn't cut through Blade's armor, Zen wanted him stuck there for a moment or two.
