Pirates of the Seas

Late afternoon on the harbor of Baltimare were many docked ships, most of then regular ships and some airships. Considering the flier for this so called adventure never really specified which airship was the one they were looking for, they most likely be searching around for most of the day. Some of the airships were working on loading and unloading crates of stuff and other things while the other airships were dead silent with not a single crew member to be seen. One airship, however, was neither working, nor was it silent.

On the dock next to the airship were crates stacked up in a pile with a chestnut colored pegasus stallion with an azure mane and tail sleeping on the crates. The stallion himself looked like he was in his late teens/early twenties. There was also a scar across his left eye. On the side of the airship was the words Gentle Touch, presumably the name of the airship. The airship itself was a decent sized airship, big enough for a crew of fifteen. It had one mass in the middle with it's sail down. On the top of the mass was the crows nest, where a lone tall figure could be seen looking down at the docks. The sounds coming from the airship were...loud to say the least. It sounded like there was a heated argument going on and things were getting thrown around.

"This is the last airship round these parts... If this ain't the one I'm not gonna need a cannon for these, I could throw em just as well as any cannon could..." Coal Scorcher mumbled to himself as he carried a crate with him, the thing being really heavy even for an Earth Pony. Yet he had carried it the entire day around with him, from airship to airship, asking if this was the one the flier directed him to. Failure upon failure to locate the correct ship left him with a grumpy attitude and a sweaty brow, though his bandana helped with that second problem.
He kicked the sleeping stallion awake as he laid the crate down next to him. "Oi, nappa'. This the ship the flier told me to come to?" He asked, showing said flier to the previously asleep chestnut pegasus. He didn't give a flying horsefeather about the noise. He'd grown used to it over the day. Infact, the seemingly abandoned ships gave him the creeps.

The white griffon spent quite some time flying around, searching for the ship from the flier. His mood was already grumpy from all the searching. 'How can you forget to put the ship's name on your flier...?' he kept asking himself, until eventually arriving at the last ship that he hadn't yet checked, the Gentle Touch. He looked at it for a bit before noticing a sleeping pegasus that was kicked awake by an earth pony. He slowly and carefully approached them and coughed. "Morning to you two. Do you by chance know if this is the ship from the flier?" Wyvorn asked when the Earth pony was done talking, holding up the flier he picked up somewhere.

Around the dockyard trotted a pure white Griffoness, her reddish pink eyes scanning the area around her as her slim, graceful tail flicked from side to side with each step she took. One could be lead to believe from her elegant movements and soft, neat white feathers that she was a Dove Griffon, but closer inspection would show otherwise. The beak was all wrong, too large, too sharp and predatory looking. Her eyes weren't as soft as a Dove's would be, the sharpness of a hunter in their depths with a cunning intelligence. The eyes of a Raven.
Between the Griffoness' large, well preened wings laid a backpack with it's pockets securely done up. Only one thing stuck out from the pack, and that was from underneath. The hilt of a sword, within easy reach of the Griffoness, able to be drawn faster then one would expect. Ad while she certainly didn't look like the sort to carry such a weapon, it wasn't the only toy she had at her disposal, more hidden away in the pack or other places.

She'd been looking around for the ship for quite a while, going from ship to ship asking about the one from the flier, and was starting to get bored. She glanced up to the sky, spotting a black speck above that was circling her, which made her smile softly before continuing on her path. With a blink, her eyes suddenly focussed on something she'd spotted just as she past by a particular ship. A stallion holding a flier the exact same as the one that had brought her to the docks, her vision narrowing to zoom in on it, allowing her to read it from several dozen metres away, just to check.
With a small smile, she started to slowly walk over to the ship and the small group in front of it. Some might have said her walk was seductive as she walked towards the males, but others with keener eyes would have disagreed. They would have likened the way she walked to that of a tigress on the hunt, drawing close to her prey.

The pegasus grunted as he was kicked. His response? To roll over onto his side and continue napping. "Not now Gem...It's nap time." He muttered quietly then paused when he heard the earth pony talk and then the griffon. He sat up and turned towards the two, opening his eyes. The two would be able to see that his left eye was grayed out slightly while his other eye was an orange color. He looked at the two for a moment then at the flier both of them were holding up. "Well you two certainly aren't Gem...And you two certainly look very angry. I'll take a guess and say you both searched the whole harbor for us." He hopped off from the crates and stretched his wings and legs. "Yup. That flier's us alright." He said nodding to the two. He looked behind them slightly at a Griffoness coming towards them. "Two griffons...Wonder if Gem put most of the fliers at Griffonstone or something..." He muttered to himself before shaking his head. "Right...The name's Hookshot by the way, I'll be right back."

The pegasus quickly flew up to the deck of the ship and stepped inside it. A couple minutes later, the arguing seemed to quiet down and seemed to stop entirely. A few more minutes afterwards, the door on the deck of the ship opened up and out came Hookshot and a changeling. The changeling had light green eyes and wore a red bandanna on his head. He also wore a red and white striped shirt and two swords clearly strapped on both of his sides. And Hookshot now had a metal contraption on his right forehoof. The looked down at the earth pony and griffons with a stoic look for a moment. "Hookshot lower the ladder." The changeling said to the pegasus as he threw down a rope ladder. "Come up on deck. I'll introduce you to the rest of the crew...Except the captain, he's currently out right now. Oh...and I can lift that crate up here for you, it'd be difficult for you otherwise." He said to Coal as his horn lit up, waiting for his response.

Coal watched as Hookshot disappeared, making the commotion onboard the ship stop and a changeling coming back along with the pegasus. When the changeling offered to magick his crate up, Coal snorted. He stepped to the side a bit and hollered "Ya might wanna get outta the way!" before hoisting the crate in one arm and in a seemingly impossible feat, tossed it up, up and until it disappeared behind the deck, landing with a satisfying thunk. From the sound of it, the contents were still sealed in though. The stallion smirked as he began to climb the rope.

Wyvorn raised an eyebrow at Hookshot as he talked and quickly looked behind him when the pegasus mentioned two griffins, noticing the griffoness and smiling at her. he patiently waited for their invitation to come onboard, and the griffin just smiled as the ladder was dropped. He spread his wings and flew on board after the earth pony's crate was thrown and landed down in front of the changeling and the pegasus, looking around the deck for a moment before slightly bowing to the pair. "The name is Wyvorn. Wyvorn Whitewing." the snow white griffin introduced himself, smiling before moving out of the way so the Griffoness wouldn't land on him.

The changeling just stared at Coal for a moment before shaking his head. "You could have just said no..." He said before pulling away from the railing of the ship. "A pleasure to meet you Wyvorn. And you, earth pony who has yet to say his name. I am Dripfang, quartermaster of the ship. Whenever the captain isn't around I'm in charge and I make sure everyone follows the captain's orders." At that moment a light gray diamond dog could be seen climbing down from the crows nest and the door down to the lower deck burst open, revealing a worn, exhausted looking light purple unicorn with a dark purple mane.

"Oh yeah sure Dripfang. Leave your mess to me. I'm sure the captain would love you to explain why the engine room is in shambles huh?" She snapped at the changeling before shaking her head and sighing. The changeling opened his mouth so say something but she just lifted a hoof to stop him. She looked over at the griffon and earth pony and blinked at them. "Oh hello...You must be the ones who are coming with us on our trip. I am Gemini, but most of the crew just calls me Gem. Especially my annoying brother, Hookshot." She seemed to glare at the pegasus in question who started laughing. "I mostly work down in the engine room, keeping it in tip top shape. But more the once I'll come up and play a little song for the crew."

"Nonsense, Gemini. We all know Hookshot's annoying. Which is why we keep him down near the cannons to make him less annoying." A deep voice said from the base of the crows nest. The diamond dog who had been climbing down now stood tall, easy for everyone to see. He had a patch of white fur on his belly and muzzle. He also had on a brown gaucho hat and a simple brown pirate vest. He bowed his head at the earth pony and griffin. "Rocky. I'm the Navigator. Mostly keep to the crows nest though."

"And I'm Hookshot. But you already knew that. I keep most of the ship up and running, run around fixing the little things. My sis, Gem, helps with that too. Though she likes her fancy little engines more. I'm also the one who gets down and dirty with the cannons when we get attacked." He grinned at the two for a moment before pointing at Coal. "And you...I like you already!" He chuckled a little before shaking his head. "Now if only the captain would show up..."

Walking down the dock, a sand coat, dirty blond mare could be seen walking down. Wearing an duster, that had sleeves long enough to cover her forehooves. (Which are for some reason making an small clinging sound every time she stepped.) but, the jacket itself not being long enough to show her lack of a cutiemark. Hoister on her back was a weird tech looking gun, which lay diagonally across her saddle bags. Lastly an daisy pendant on a chain necklace around her neck.
She stopped in her straid to on look the vessel. "The gentle touch... This captain desperate to get killed out there." She notice a few head on top of the ship. " *sigh* Just do what the flier says. Deal with pirate, scavenge their gear, get treasure." She reminded herself before walking up to the rope ladder and beginning her climb. Once on the vessel, she stood there and took account of the introductions. 
"Yay, socializing." Her mind stated in a sarcastic manner.

"Name's Coal Scorcher. Nice to meet'cha. If ya want any help in the engine room or with the cannons I can lend a hoof or two." Coal said, looking at everyone on board. "If there's no further stuff to be mentioned then I'd like to get below deck, gotta get my 'luggage' here to a spot that doesn't eventually make it fall overboard." He said, tapping his crate.

Wyvorn kept his smile through the introductions, but remained silent for the while. He was used to meeting one new pony at a time, but so many at the same time was rather overwhelming for him, but he tried not to show it. "Well, happy to meet all of you." he said with a somewhat shy smile before looking around him. "Aand... I can be wherever you'll need me, I suppose." he added, being only slightly nervous.

"Yes...If there is nothing else to say I'll go down to the engines and make sure they are ready for tomorrow. Also to clean up your mess Dripfang and to get away from a certain annoyance." Gem said, glaring at Hookshot again before turning to Coal. "I'll accompany you below decks, show you roughly where everything is." She smiled at him for a moment before walking to the door that lead down.

Rocky made a move to follow them but stopped when a loud thud sounded from on the docks. Everyone of the crew members stopped what they were doing and looked towards the ladder. "I thought I told ye scallywaggers that I wanted these crates on board by the time I get back. We leave on the morrow after all!" A dark brown stallion head poked up from the ladder. He had a scruffy dark green mane and his left ear was missing a bit of the tip. He blinked and stared at the two ponies and griffin on board who he's never seen before.

"Blimey...I thought they'd never find us..." The stallion muttered before shaking his head and climbing on board. "I am Ocean Blade, pleased to met ye." He bowed his head before looking over at Rocky and Dripfang. "Get to it you two. I want all of them on board before we leave today." He then turned his attention towards the new crew members. "Feel free to explore the ship if you want. I'll call you went we head into town. You can even help the two with the boxes if you want." He shrugged at them.

Everyone of the crew members continued to do what they were going to do. Gem opening the door below decks and going down the stairs to a single door where the stairs stopped. There was another set of stairs that looped back around itself down to a hallway with ten or so doors and a single door at the end. The stairs went down even more to where they kept the cannons. On the deck, the diamond dog and changeling were starting to bring boxes on board with either their magic or paws to carry them. And lastly, the earth pony captain and Hookshot stopped back and watched watched everything happen, seemingly ready for any questions the new crew members might ask, if any questions at all.

The sandy coat mare stood there while the captain was giving his spiel. 
"Well might as well know where to put down my stuff, because someone, forgot to put down the name of the ship." The mare said ending with a fake cough.
The mare (Who has yet let out her name) walked to the open door hold by Gem and stood off to the side, gesturing at the coal to go in first. " I see somepony pack lightly."

Wyvorn continued being silent during the new introductions and only bowed his head to the stallion whose name was apparently Ocean Blade. He pondered the options that he was given for a bit. Exploring the ship and knowing what is where would certainly be useful, but the diamond dog and changeling sure looked like they could use some help with the boxes, and the ship exploration could always be done when they're sailing. "I-I'll help with the boxes for now." he said and swiftly went towards the diamond dog and changeling to help with the boxes.

Coal gave a salute of sorts to his new cap'n. "Ahoy, boss! Just gon' dump this below deck and I'll help the others. Name's Coal Scorcher, by the way."
He then followed Gem below deck, his face invisible behind the crate he was carrying. But he was excited for the journey to come. He almost tripped on the steps but managed to gain his balance before the contents of the crate were spilled. "Whoa! Hah, not even a drop in me and already I'm swaying like a ship at sea." He joked, then scrunched his face in thought. "Not too far from the truth, actually."

Sandy follow Gem and Scorcher down the stairs. Keeping an few steps behind just in case the create falls.".... I'm going to regret asking but, Why are you carrying so much crad? Especially when you seem to struggle with it." reacting to the stallion almost dropping his gear.

Dripfang raised an eyebrow at Wyvorn as he came over, his horn lit as a box was lifted over the edge of the boat and set down on the deck. "I don't think-." He was cut off by Rocky shouting something and a box being sent flying over the edge. He quickly caught the box in his magic and set it down carefully. "Rocky! Careful with those boxes damn it!" He growled at the diamond dog momentarily before turning back to Wyvorn. "As I was saying."

"We would appreciate the help! It would make things go by a lot faster. Plus we still have to move the boxes about to the proper places. Even the changeling has some limits to what he can. Same for me." Rocky shouted up at the boat. He could be seen grabbing another box and carrying it over to the ladder. "Come on and help, griffon."

Gem lit up her horn, about ready to catch Coal, but stopped when he regained his balance. She sighed shaking her head. "Do be careful. It would be a tragedy if you hurt yourself already. Anyway, first three doors on the right and first two doors on the left are taken. You can take any other room. Room at the end is where we eat and meet up and stuff. Down the stairs a bit more is where all the cannons and weapons and things are." She turned towards the door behind her and opened it, stepping inside. "And this is the engine room, where I will be most of the time. If you need help or anything come see me...or the others but I sometimes feel I'm the only mature one on this ship...besides Rocky of course." She sighed to herself, shaking her head.

Wyvorn nodded and jumped off the boat to pick up a box. The first one wasn't as heavy as he predicted it to be, but for now he shrugged it off. "I suppose I should just bring those on board and you guys do the sorting later? I still gotta explore the ship and learn what's where, but I've decided to do that during the trip and now help you." he said before spreading his wings and flying back on board, leaving the first box down and jumping off, returning for the rest. The only worry he had right now was that the planks underneath him don't break and cause him to fall in the water when he lands.

"Okay, uhhh. Thanks, Gem." The mare walked by the two and walked in to the third door on the left.

"Heh, looks like I ain't gettin' any rum till I actually get settled in." He said jokingly, before he looked at Gem seriously. "But seriously, I'd like something to drink once we set sail. Hell, even water's fine. Haven't had a drop'o'liquid since I began packing my stuff into this crate." He corrected his position for emphasis before he waddled through the 4th door on the left, setting his crate down at the foot of his bed. "Ah... Home sweet home away from my actual home." He mused to himself, stretching his back and letting out a groan of satisfaction when he felt a pop.

Gem paused and looked behind her at Coal. She giggled and shook her head at him. "You'll find that there is no shortage of rum on this ship. There's some on the room down the hall. Grab a cup and get yourself some. I'm sure no one will mind." She rolled her eyes slightly before stepping into the engine room and closing the door behind her. The two would find that there was a bed, of course, and a desk beside the bed for writing stuff. There was even a little lamp on the desk for them. Besides that, there was nothing else besides space for them to do whatever it is they wanted.

Back on deck and the docks, Rocky and Dripfang continued to move boxes up to the deck for sorting later. "So griffon. Why'd you decide to join us?" The changeling was the one to break the silence as the three moved boxes. "I mean besides adventure because that is such a broad statement it gets boring to hear over time." That statement seemed to make the diamond dog laugh as he climbed up the ladder.

"Only gets boring for you cause you use it as your excuse to stay on...No wait that's what half of use use to stay on. Ocean don't seem to mind though. Then again he saved most of us when we needed it so can't really say much there." The dog shrugged and placed down the box, leaning against it. "Though I'm also curious why you came, ah...Wyvorn." He smiled at the griffion slightly.

Sandy flap her bags on the desk,which landed with a thump. she took off her duster reveling that her right fore hoof to be medievalish mechanical arm. "Something wrong with the springs and shots, Sigh, perfect." After feeling the metal arm for a bit. it made a little popping sound as she slid the casing off. ( showing that she does have all four of her legs) "I need a drink." She walked out of her room and into the room gem pointed to. Leave her metal arm in her room, but kept her cannon and her revolver on her.

Wyvorn chuckled as he placed another box on the ship's deck before leaning on the rail. "Why I came?Apart from the obvious 'adventure'? Hm.. I'd say desire for a neat reward, fun, and a cure for massive boredom. You won't believe how hard it is for a guy like me to find a job in Equestria lately..." he answered before jumping on the dock to pick up another box. "Say... what's in these boxes?" he randomly asked.

Coal looked at the bed in the engine room and blinked. "Wouldn't that be a fire hazard?" He asked Sandy as she walked by, only to freeze and stare at the metal limb she left behind.
"...Well then. I am NOT drunk enough to deal with this." He said before following the mare to the room with the good stuff.

He also idly mused to himself that he should only have 2 or so cups. He still needs to help folks up on the deck, after all.

To clarify:

Sandy said coldly walking down the hall. "We on a ship call the gentle touch. I'll be surprise we make it a quarter way to where ever the buck we going with out someone else blowing us up. Also, the arm's a custom, so, No, you can't wear it, second, if you don't do it right the heat element could cause 3rd degrees burns to your fore hoof." I going to need a lot more then I originally thought.
