To restore or forsake the past (signup, future AU, adventure!)

It is said 'The bigger we are, the harder we fall'. I don't think truer words could be said about the ponies. The legends say that long ago there was a land known as Equestria where the ponies were free to laugh and play and enjoy the day as carefree as they could under the benevolent rule of the solar sisters. That there were six ponies who represented the best of us all who rose to resolve any challenge or threat that dared to confront the Empire. But that was a long, time ago...

The world's changed so much since those old legends. There was the advancements, technology reaching heights to achieve what shouldn't have been possible, miracles that transcended the wildest imaginations, and yet at the cost of so much devastation to the world. Then the scientist turned their attention towards fixing the world, to bring it back and repair the damages their reckless advancements had done. It only partially worked.

The world was fixed, forests returned, the waters were cleared, and the air was clean, but the forest gained a mind of it's own. It struck out at the technology and the ponies that coveted it, destroying all in it's wake and the world was plunged into this new dark age. Now though we've managed to strike a peace with the forest, we exist as it does and do what we can to not anger it. The Historia Derelicta keeps us safe, they condemn the horrid advancements of the past to keep from angering the forests and keep us all safe from the destruction the past warrants.

But then there's Phoenix. They say the world can be fixed, that with the technologies of the past, we dont' have to live in fear anymore. There are many that don't trust them, or the sinful weapons of the past they use, but could they really be that wrong? The forest isn't kind and has killed far more than it's saved.

Regardless of either faction, that doesn't really change the small filly who suddenly burst in threw the doors of the local tavern, calling out for help with frantic tear filled eyes.

Hello and welcome again to another Zen made game.
Well this here's the sign up so not really going to bog it down with too much but if you've played or read any of my other games, you've probably got something of a grasp on my style. The important thing right now though is to post a link to A character you want to sign up and possibly whether or not you wish to be part of either faction, Historia Derelicta or Phoenix. Though if you'd rather message me privately for the faction choice and/or additional information on either faction, feel free to do so. Also, as a little addition note, if you really want to sign up multiple OCs to use, I will consider it.

As one should come to grasp, this is a far future AU and while the tech level reached a high point in the past, that was a long time ago and just about none of it survives anymore. The common weapons are your bow n' arrows, sword n' shield, etc. I'm looking for no more than 5 players for this game, and it won't be a first come first serve basis on the choices.

Alright, so I'm going to expand a little bit here upon the status of each faction, what they really represent, and what being a part of either entitles. Before that though let me make this really clear, IF you are choosing to be a part of a faction, you are a newer member of said faction. No player controlled OC is starting this game at a high position in either faction.

Historia Derelicta:
The Historia Derelicta is kind of a combination of things. It's part religious sect, part Order of knights, part Law of the Lands, etc. The Derelicta primarily stands to remove and/or destroy any of the technology of the past which has been blamed for nearly every problem that the current world faces, and they aren't really wrong. Technology caused unparalleled destruction, misery, and devastation that even still continues to plague the societies that strive to survive in the world.

Any and all members of the Derelicta, from the highest officer to the lowest grunt, all have one primary objective and that is the destruction of any and all technology from the past. For this act, the majority of the population actually applauds and supports the Derelicta in it's endeavors.

If a player starts as a member of the Derelicta, they are given a badge in the shape of the order's symbol, to wear that proclaims them as such. This symbol is easily recognizable.

Phoenix
As with any society that features a large, at least somewhat centralized governmental like power, there is a rebellion that stands against it. For the Derelicta, this group is known as Phoenix. Phoenix rejects the words of the Derelicta, proclaiming that technology not only isn't bad, but it can actually restore the world to a state like it was before the forest became sentient. Phoenix sees the ashes of the past, but looks past them to marvel at the wondrous things technology achieved as well and wants to see such miracles of science being used again.

Needless to say, Phoenix seeks to find, recover, and restore to working order, all the technology it can and through any means necessary. This act however isn't widely supported, and in most cases will likely draw unwanted attention. Most of the population fears technology, fears what it can do, and are at least uneasy around those that are seen with it.

Players starting with the group Phoenix do not start with any special items considering that any mark or badge that would proclaim them as members of the rebellious faction, and likely land them at the mercy of the Derelicta. Instead they are given passwords to use with other members for verification

The Forest
While not a faction in 90% oof the regard, it's something that bears mentioning as well. The Forest is sentient in this game, though very little is known about it even to the most learned scholars. Some towns try to work with the forest, while others try to keep as far away from it as possible. There are proven stories though of the harshness of the Forest and how itself will prey upon the unwary that wander into it's forbidden lengths without the proper respect. Creatures composed of the greenery, giant beasts that dwarf even the largest ponies, and the mysterious druids that can sometimes be seen outside of the forests.

There is no known way to join the Forest, but that doesn't stop a decent amount of the population from revering it or trying to aid it in what ways they can. The Derelicta seems to usually be on the side of the Forest, though there have been times when the two have come to conflict. Phoenix however has open conflict with the forest.

Can I sign up Darkcharm for this? She doesn't really care which faction she's in, just so as long as she receives something in return--and actually gets her end of the deal. She doesn't get swept up in this because she wants to, she is simply in the wrong place at the wrong time.
