A Visitor From Manehattan.

Trottingham is currently hosting a Charity Event raising money to support effort's of expansion of the Crystal Empire which recently has suffered minor property damage by Dragon's. The event is currently being hosted within a newcomer influential home. Who the owner and thrower of this party is unknown but she is apparently wealthy and a very kind person based on how the other's talk about her. Among the people invited includes Respected Blacksmith and Veteran Dusk Hammer.

The home was rather large practically a mansion with decorated marble floor's and wooden wall's with various painting's and banner's hanging on there. The ceiling had a chandelier hanging and various window's gave light to the room. Many of the people mingled and classical music was heard playing as well.

"Ugh, they had to mark on the invitation that I'd be invited," Dusk Hammer said to himself. That would mean a lot of single mares would be in attendance. As his parents were musicians that often worked with the Trottingham nobles, the nobles definitely knew about him. This also meant every noble's daughter knew he was single and had a good idea of who he was. As he walked up to the mansion, he already could see some of the other nobles and their daughters conversing outside, many of the daughters swooning when they caught sight of his 7 foot tall and strongly built figure. Wearing his white soldier's dress uniform only added to that effect. It also meant he was easy to spot, even in a crowd.

"Well, here come's a long list of dates and requests to dance. I might break my two drink limit tonight just to get through this," he said to himself. However, he kept a smile on his face and politely bowed towards the nobles and their daughters, garnering more of the previous reaction. He soon entered the mansion, and the attention seemed to shift onto him for a moment. Many mares were already sidling up to him, and he gave his normal routine of kissed hands and compliments.

One mare near him seemed a bit uninterested and was busy looking at something behind her. She seemed to say something then smiled when people began talking to her with a forced smile.

She was rather attractive with blue skin and purple hair with the same color in her eyes. Her hair was a simple braid and her face looked kind yet she had a hourglass figure and quite large breasts. Her skin was contrasted by her bright orange dress which looked both attractive and formal.

Many Nobles seemed to be talking to her and whatever was behind her.

Dusk soon managed to satisfy most of the mares who came up to him, though many of them still followed him around. He did notice the blue skinned mare who seemed to have little interest in him, and the party for that matter. She certainly was attractive, but most of the mares at the party were. Curiosity got the better of him since he didn't recognize her, and he thought that she would at least make a good drinking partner once he managed to get over to the bar for a nice glass of scotch.

So, he walked over to her, despite the number of mares following him. "Good evening," he began with a polite bow, "I am Dusk Hammer. I've attended many parties in Trottingham, but you are a mare I have not seen before. Might I kindly ask for your name?" He knew he was laying the formality on thick, but it was why the nobles loved him in the first place.

The blue skinned mare smiled and bowed followed by saying'' My name Zephyr Sherbet but everyone calls me Hazel''. She smiled and added'' You are that Blacksmith that everyone is talking about correct? People keep telling me to meet you all because he's a honor to have at party's. I don't see why I should make a big deal over charity but my friend's say that's how the upper class of society handle stuff with parties and all''. She smiled then turned to look behind her and whispered ''Come on, please say hello to the nice man''.

A small girl with purple hair that while done formally also hung down the right side of her face completely hiding it and part of the left leaving on her eye and mouth being seen. She had strange blue and red skin in a swirling pattern all around her body but it didn't seem to have any pattern. She wore a rather stylish green dress that seemed bigger than her and showed she was a bit developed making her age probably around 13 or so. The girl seemed shy and looked at the ground mumbling something.

''This is my daughter Palmie Sherbet but I call her Sharie''Hazel introduced nudging Sharie forward.

Dusk crouched down so he wouldn't seem so intimidating to the girl. "Well hello there Sharie. I must say you look very pretty," Dusk said, hoping to boost the girl's confidence.

Sharie blushed and mumbled"Everyone keeps saying that..". She hid behind her mothers dress peeking out embaressed.

Hazel smiled and brushed her daughters hair and asked Dusk"Would you care for a drink?". She smiled evilly and whispered"I can't stand all these people talking to me just because of my looks y'know? I'm getting tired of those Noble's sons following me around..".
(Sharie doesn't like her swirls because she thinks it makes her stand out which it does)

Dusk stood back up and glanced back at the noble ladies following him then turned back to Hazel and said, "By all means, I could use a drink." He then came a little closer and whispered, "And I wouldn't mind losing the ladies who constantly follow me around in these gatherings." He then started walking towards the bar, making sure Hazel and Sharie were following behind him.

The bartender, a grey skinned man looked up when Dusk and Hazel arrived. Hazel immediatelt put down a pouch of bits and said"A glass of your finest wine for me and some grape juice for my daughter". The man looked over at Sharie and smiled kindly getting some glasses. He paused and looked at Dusk, "And what will you be having?"He asked.

"Scotch, straight," Dusk Hammer simply said as he sat down. He soon turned to Hazel and asked, "So, I assume you have to be someone fairly respected to be here. What do you do?"

''I'm a dentist by trade back in Manehattan, I have served various different high ranking official's in my line of work and have been payed a large amount for my job so I am well known there''Hazel said taking sips of her wine. ''I came here because a bestowed this house upon me as a gift so I dedcided to run a charity event, I have been very well-known for my charity event's back in Manehattan''.

The bartender gave Dusk his scoth.

Dusk took a drink of his scotch before replying. "A dentist. Certainly more prestigious than a humble blacksmith like me. Donating to charity is something I appreciate, though I tend not to have the bits to help fund some charities. Being a blacksmith is not a wealthy pony's job, but I wouldn't trade it for anything. ...Well, except for another tour in the Royal Guard if I ever felt the need to return to it," Dusk said.

''Ah so your a soldier? I have always admired those brave stallion's risking their lives for us at home..I became very endeared to one in fact..''Hazel admitted blushing and said quietly''We had a lovely night before he had to go on duty and the result 8 month's later was Sharie..but I never saw him again..''

"Ah, I'm sorry to hear that. I do hope he didn't just leave you. I'm certain it was hard for both you and your daughter," Dusk said.

''No it wasn't hard, even back then I had plenty of money..having my daughter just gave me a reason to spend it I suppose...I didn't really interact with the other noble's after having her, I always liked just being with her y'know? She's my perfect little girl after all..''

"You definitely are a caring mother. You're lucky to have each other. Are you actually from a noble house, or are you just a fairly wealthy and respected person?" Dusk asked.

''Defiantly the second one, I'm not really noble blood but I suppose something about me makes the other want me in that group or so..''

"Just like me, only I'm not wealthy. I think a lot of it is how polite I am, and how well I'm accustomed to being around and conversing with nobles. My parents would take me with them when they played music for parties like this while I was young, and that's how I became known among the nobles. Joining the Royal Guard practically made me the most eligible bachelor in Trottingham, which is annoying since all the noble want me to marry their daughters," Dusk said.

''I have the same issue with their spoiled son's'' Hazel laughed then asked kindly ''So you mentioned your parent's do you have any sibling's or children or the such?''.

"I have two brothers and one sister. No children, as I have always been single. I'm the oldest of my siblings. One of my brothers is a performer who'll sleep with a lady whenever he has the chance. The other is a silversmith who behaves much like me, and the youngest is my sister, who's shy and loves to paint," Dusk said.

''What do your parent's do?'' Hazel asked leaning forward a bit interested. ''I'm considering visting your family if that's alright, my dear Sharie isn't really that social and very shy but perhap's your sister and her would make good company..''.

Sharie sank lower in her chair sipping her grape juice box embaressed.

"Like I said earlier, my parents are musicians. My mother does give piano lessons when she's not playing for anypony. And my parents would be glad to meet you. Though, my performing brother is in town, so expect him to flirt with you. He goes after all the pretty single ladies," Dusk said.

''Then I should be considered flattered since you just called me pretty'' Hazel said then chuckled a bit, ''How old is your sister?''.

Dusk also chuckled and soon answered her question. "My sister is 16. She does have some close friends, so I can't see why Sharie wouldn't get along with her. I don't think age would be that much of an issue."

''I hope Sharie has fun, I will stop by tomorrow after the event if that's fine with you'' Hazel said standing up having finished her drink and took Sharie's hand as dance music began to play.

''I'd love to chat some more but I have the sudden need to spend time with my sweet daughter on the dance floor'' Hazel said then paused and gave Dragon a peck on the check and said ''That's for calling me pretty'' she said then lead off to the dance floor in the middle of the room.
