Practice: Star vs. Sword (Private)

The sun was setting as the moon and stars slowly peeked over the mountains on the horizon. The sky was cloudless and a nice yellow and purple as the sun set. The wind blew gently through a field of tall grass, making the grass lean to one side. In the middle of the field, there was a pony clad in a dark purple and light purple armor. The pony had bat like wings and fluffy tipped ear and was obviously a stallion. The stallion had a gray coat and black mane and looked to be sitting. A helmet laid on the ground to his side and a sword was on his other side.

Star Sentinel kept his ears held up high, so that he can hear any and all sounds encase something snuck up on him. His eyes kept moving to see if anything moved and he was ready to grab his sword if he needed to. He didn't let his guard down for a longer than a second, but when he did, it was more or less because of the sound of the wind blowing over the tall grass. All was silent, but he was sure that might change relatively soon. But till that moment, he'd just keep his eyes and ears peeled for anything.

A tall grey Pegasi with blue tipped wings and hair wearing silver armor landed silently in front of Star. He carried no weapon, only an ornate silver band linked around his right wrist. His armor was sparing, to say the least, joints left open for maximum mobility, and only his torso had decent protection. "So...." he mused, examining his opponent. "Alert and ready. Very well. Lets begin." Not wasting time, he charged, no weapon in hand at the moment as he bolted directly at Star.

Star looked at the grey pegasus for a moment before quickly grabbing his helmet and putting it on. He got into a kneeling position, grabbing his sword and it's scabbard, before jumping back a few feet back. He strapped the sword to his waist and held his hands in front of him in a defensive position. He had to smile a little bit. "Bring it on." He waited for the pegasus to attack or something before he would actually do any thing.

"Hand to hand it is!" he shouted as he reached CQC range. Quickly, he reached out with his left hand to grab his shoulder, and launched a knee strike aimed right at his diaphram. Armor would be an annoyance in this hand to hand fight, but that would just force him to use a certain style of fighting less dependant on strikes.

In reaction to his shoulder being grabbed, Star grabbed the pegasus's upper arm in his right hand and his forearm in his left hand. He moved off to his right side, just barely missing the knee that was meant to land a blow in the area of his diaphram. If he was a slip second later, he would have been hit. He moved the gray pegasus's arm so that it was bending a little, as he tried to move behind the other stallion and knee him in the back.

Sword turned with her as he grabbed her left arm, that not really bothering him in the slightest. In fact, he'd done him a favor by tying up his hands and leaving his torso completely wide open. With his hand protected by his gauntlet, he had no reservations about his next attack. Sword slammed home with an uppercut to his left midsection, aiming to rupture his spleen and remove him from the fight all together. If he hit that was.

Star gulped, just now realizing the error he had made. Caught by surprise at Sword turning with him, he didn't have enough to dodge the incoming attack so he just braced himself for it. When the blow landed, it did manage to rupture his spleen and that in turn made him scream in pain. He fell to his knees and held the area where he was punched. "Left myself wide open....I deserved that punch...And that ruptured spleen." He smiled up at the gray pegasus, coughing and wincing in pain all the while he said that. He was seriously going to need to find a hospital soon....But at least he went down smiling...

Feeling him drop like a ton of bricks, he knew the fight was over for the moment. "Yeah, you were kind of asking for it, but I'm not going to let you off that easily. Just stay here for the moment, I need to retrieve something from my bag." Taking off, Sword returned in a few minutes with a large pack, him pulling a flask out of it, and forcing a rather foul tasting liquid down Star's throat, her insides mending back to normal and his pain fading. "Tastes like ass but its damn effective. Now stand up. There's plenty more where that came from."

Star waited for Sword to returned only for a flask of foul tasting liquid to be shoved down his throat. He gagged a little, but at least felt his spleen healing. He stood up and stretched a little bit. "And how would you know what ass taste like?" He said with a smirk before backing away from Sword. "Plenty more to come eh? Well I still got plenty of fight left in me." He got into a defensive position again. His smile never seemed to fade, taking one second to catch his breath and calm down just a tad.

Rolling his eyes, Sword settled back into stance, wings flaring out. "Oh ain't you a witty one? In that case." He extended his hand, his band flashing for a moment as a sheathed katana appeared, him grasping it and drawing the blade, scabbard held in his left hand. "Don't let your mouth write checks your ass can't cash kid. Here I come." And again, Sword charged, dropping his blade to his left side, and then slashing diagonally up and to the right at Star's torso, his sheathe following with a second strike aimed at his head.

Star fell down to one knee to dodge the scabbard that was aimed for his head. He quickly grabbed his sheathed sword and held it up vertically in front of him to stop the sword. He quickly unfurled his wings and gave them a quick flap to move away from the katana.

Star made a smart move in choosing to retreat, as Sword was halfway through a snap kick that would have connected with his face before setting his leg back down. "I suppose it'd be polite of me to let you draw your blade now, considering your rather clever counter to my attack there. Go on, I'll wait right here for you." And wait he did, with his katana now gripped in two hands, the sheathe attached to his belt for now.

Star back up a few more steps before he unsheathe his sword, holding it in his right hand and his scabbard in the other. He thought about what he could do for an attack, but he didn't think to long and hard on it as he charged at Sword. One he was close enough, he raised his sword and swung at him in a diagonal downwards.

"Straightforward, without fear or hesitation." Sword remarked, raising his katana in both hands, blade angled so that Star's strike would slide down the flat of his blade and towards the ground. At the same time, he stepped in and lashed out with a snap kick to his midsection, coming down hard onto his left shoulder with the flat of his blade simultaneously, not wanting to kill him, just break his collarbone at worst. "Commendable, but foolish."

Star was caught a little by surprise but he couldn't react in time. The flat of Sword's sword landed on his left shoulder, he felt pain as he felt his collarbone break. He was then kicked in the abdomen, sending him stumbling backwards. He winced in pain as he moved his shoulder. "Gah...Foolish? Of course..." He needed to think of how to attack Sword, but he also needed to keep his already hurt shoulder away from the other stallion. He let out a little growl and just decide to take up a defensive position.

Sword didn't stop, rather he pressed the advantage, stabbing forward with both hands on the blade, stepping forward with his right foot as he did so, reaching to grasp his sheathe with his left hand as he did so.
