The Sunless Swain (Private W/ Sword Symphony)

Mittere stepped off of the train onto the platform, rather assuredly pushing her way through the crowds of the Canterlot train station. She had just returned from a trip the Crystal Empire,  a place she had missed the first time around. During the height of the old King's reign she was preoccupied elsewhere and by the time she was ready the place had vanished. Sombra and the power he had was interesting to her. If she could have met the stallion a lot would have been different. They didn't make them like they used to, or so was the impression she got from the painting she saw of him and the books available.  

Of course, getting to the Crystal Empire meant taking a train, and through the mainline was the easier option than hopping several smaller lines, ergo she had to travel through Canterlot. She meandered around the train station, killing time that she had to waste, something she could afford to do. There was something wrong with the smaller lines she had planned to take had been damaged during her month and a slight in the empire. This was the closest she could probably come to having  a vacation, the only problem being it was Canterlot. Mittere was not a fan of Canterlot, not because of the flagrant architecture, or the attitude the ponies seemed to breed, but it was just the one building. The palace reminded her of some certain ponies which had wronged her greatly. That was how she felt at least.She could try and storm Celestia, but she was so widely and highly regarded that in the public eye would make her some sort of villain.

The weather schedule for the day was pretty nice, intermittent clouds as they were moved around combined with a warm enough 19 degrees. With her clothing taken into account, she was actually pretty warm. Once she was free of some of the warmth of the clouds,  she breathed a sigh as she lowered her hood and ran a hand through her hair once or twice to brush her orange mane back into a nice free flowing position. A hand was moved to where her neckline met the robe she wore, pulling it outward to get some cooler air to flow down to her chest a little better. She carried on walking, unlike the last city she walked through she had no mission here for the time being.

Above the intermittent clouds Sword glided aloft the winds on his large wings, looking for a spot to land in the vast city that was the Crystal Empire. Though he enjoyed the bustle of the city, he had to admit he hated landing in them. Still, despite the crowds, he eventually found a space where he could land without hitting someone with his wings. The central plaza of the town. After touching down, he tucked his wings back into resting position and shrugged his shoulders, looking around for a place to eat. Flying from Manehatten to the Empire was enough to take the energy from anypony. Finding a suitable restaurant with an open patio, he booked himself a table quick, and sat down to relax. taking a moment to adjust his jeans before having a look at the menu.

Mittere wandered, setting herself small goals so that she may appear to be moving with purpose. Along her way she closed her eyes momentarily as her horn lit. It gave her a strong intuitive feeling of what time it was, as though she could feel that it was approaching the strongest part of the day. Without any timekeeping on her though, she could only guess maybe eleven, a little later perhaps. She looked behind her for a moment, considering a trip back to the train station, somewhere where there would be a clock, but decided against it. It didn’t really matter what time it was, as she had plenty.

As she wandered the thought did strike her though. if she were going to be here for a while, why could she not find something to amuse herself with? her list of hobbies was long enough, but in a city it might be hard to find the facilities she wanted. Did the city have any small venues for sports? she was well acquainted with many types of ball, not all sporting related mind you. She looked over several ponies in the crowd, thinking to ask them, but knowing an even better way. All she had to do was go to some cafe or restaurant, ask a pony there, and then order up some local spring water or maybe some cola to pay back her debt, in the the name of somepony else of course.

Her choice of dining establishment matched, Sword’s and she walked into the seating area. She intercepted a mare who seemed to be moving to the table of some lone pegasus that definitely made her would sex list and asked her a few questions. If she annoyed the stallion at all, she could apologize, giving her an excuse to talk to him. If only everything she planned fell together so nicely.
