Initiation into knighthood

Sacred picked up his mace, hooking it back on his belt for the moment. He tried to push a few dents out of his shield while rejoining the group. "Onward we go, right?" It appeared that he had fully recovered from whatever rage he had been in earlier.

"Evening Echo, but you can just call me Echo," the night replied as she grabbed up her sword again as well as picking up her fallen comrade's axe. "What about yours?" She then asked while moving to walk with them. Sacred and Faerie wouldn't have a ton of time to answer as the cave they proceeded down to get deeper into the lair wasn't apparently that long. It'd turned to the left almost immediately after entering it and sloped downward almost as soon at a fairly steep incline, meaning it wouldn't be an easy thing to run back up. A short landing existed at the end of the slope and a sharp right turn on it held the tunnel's exit into another larger chamber.

Inside this large chamber, a very crude throne of various skulls (most of which were animal) hide scraps, sticks and who knew what else, strained and struggled under the bulk of a ridiculously tall and muscular goblin. The abomination of a monster's back was to the group, as it sat overlooking a small pool of dark reddish liquid, and facing numerous other tunnels that branched off into who knew how many different directions. The echoes of combat came from many of these tunnels on the far side of the room and this giant goblin seemed a bit confused as to which one it should go to inspect or have to deal with first. For the moment the goblin didn't seem to notice Faerie, Echo, or Sacred, hence while it's crude looking staff/club wasn't being swung at them.

Nyx nods politely to her, rolling her shoulders after the strain of foiling the stupidly strong goblins. "I'm Faerie Fire,a don this is Sacred Chime. A pleasure."
Nyx quickly prevents Echo from heading off too quickly. "Hold up. I want to use stealth, especially after seeing how strong they were."
This turns out to be a good idea, seeing as there is a huge goblin against which they can sneak attack. Being as quiet as possible, Nyx conveys to her companions "Sacred, try to be sneaky until the battle as started. Echo, on the count of three, magically blast it with me. Then we'll support Sacred, and adjust as the battle develops."

Sacred Chime nods at the both of them, moving along until they got to the room with the huge goblin. He didn't say a word, merely nodding at Faerie while doing his best to not move much or make much noise at all, waiting for her and the other knight to strike first before going in and placing himself between them and danger. He silently prayed that his tower shield would last throughout the fight.

Echo nodded in understanding as well and got ready, awaiting the countdown. As soon as Nyx said three and launched her fireball, Echo lived up to her namesake and did the same. The two magic blasts sailed towards the unsuspecting, hulking brute. Every second that passed, they enclosed on the target, seemingly aimed at the back of it's head and upper shoulder. As Sacred crept into position, his armor making a minimal amount of clinking and clanking even despite his attempts at sneakiness, the truly monstrous goblin didn't stir nor turn around. In fact from Sacred's closer inspection, he could see that the thing wasn't moving at all, right up until the fireballs smacked into the back of the goblin's head.

It didn't let out a scream, it didn't cry out in pain, it didn't even grunt from the impact. The beast just slumped forward as if to fall to it's knees, but with no solid ground to support it with the monster standing on the edge of the dark pool, the goblin fell forward with a loud splash that sprayed the dark liquid all over the immediate cave walls and sent a decent splash towards Sacred. The goblin's body, staff included, immediately disappeared beneath the surface of the dark waters, and in it's place the stench of blood flooded the chamber to a point where it became hard to breath. Aside from the dripping sounds of the now soaked cave walls and Sacred, if he'd been hit, the chamber was suddenly and eerily quiet.

Sacred Chime was going to do something had the spell not been so effective at dropping the goblin ASAP. It was kind of strange to see the goblin not move at all, and would have mentioned something had it not eaten both fireballs and slumped over into the pool. It was almost a strange kind of refreshing to not have to run up and take a beating from something big- and then Sacred spoke too soon, as it crashed into the pool and sprayed a strange fluid everywhere.

Sacred Chime, being the master of agility that he was, attempted to leap out of the way...only to shoulder-check a nearby wall while wearing fullplate and a tower shield. Not fun. And now it reeked like blood, causing him to pant as he couldn't hear his own panting. Again, wonderful. He didn't panic, he simply raised a gauntleted hand and cast minor dipsell, checking to see if that worked at all.

Nyx walks over hesitantly, rather surprised by how that went. "Stay on your guard, everypony. Sacred, are you alright?" she asks, speaking in hushed tones as she looks around to see if anyone would attack. "Echo, can you check what gear it had while we stand guard?" With that, Faerie would indeed start looking around, staying close to her companions but trying to see if there were any chests of safes in the room. Once Echo had finished searching the corpse, they could move around the room as a group.

Scared's dispell spell didn't seem to do much of anything as it enveloped him. The blood still stank, it was still on him, and it really didn't seem to be doing much of anything else.

"Uh sure, soon as I, find it," Echo replied while looking at the pool of liquid that the goblin hulk had fallen into but had yet to re-emerge. When it still didn't come up a few moments later, Echo dove in while Nyx inspected the room. Nyx's investigation revealed nothing, no boxes, no chests, and no additional monsters. Seconds later though, Echo suddenly surfaced with a gasp. "Hey you two, there's tunnel down here and the current seems to have sucked that big goblin down it. Are we going to try and explore it?"

Faerie looks over. "A tunnel? We lack any water breathing potions. Can you tell how far it goes?"
