In the lands to the south, yonder the mountains that encircles the Badlans, long after the prairies have ended, the land where there are more sand than soil in the ground lays a proud proud city, Roam.
In her proud streets shines her marble buildings bright, as if they were challenging the crystal city of the north. Armoured zebras standing guard at most city corner. Proud red plumes flaunting on top of their masculine owners clad in bronzed armour. Sword, shield and spear alike showing splattered spots of brown, none of them the brown of rust.In the midst of the majestic and proud Roam would one find the home of the legendary Roaman bazaar, home to one million and one different tents and stands, all selling their goods, some more exotic than others. If not for the burning heat, for the equines there wore stripes instead of pastel colours and the weapons that almost all openly were wearing could one almost think they were at a Traders Exchange back home in Equestria...
...If not for one certain small minor detail.
For past the stands trading in spices, silk and shells of the sea, when one have trotted trough the parlours exchanging coins of silver into iced teas and sugary crystal delights, would one find the stands that dealt in meat, the meat of slaves.
On a low tribune with cloths of shade and troughs of water, quality slaves is a costly commodity after all, where filly, colt, stallion and mare alike lay with down turned snouts, fallen ears, marks of ownership instead of destiny and without a single atom of hope to share between them did one stand out from the rest. On the edge of the tribune where she, sitting with her legs swaying over the edge, the chain around her neck stretched taut in the air, glistening like the spiral of silver and small stones there was inlaid in her horn, it keeping her as much a prisoner as the chain. Each time someone went past had the filly, a blank flanked unicorn with midnight blue stripes, a seeking and questioning look in her eyes, dull and matt eyes, dead eyes could one almost say, but still being the ones with most life to them.
From each passer by would she seek contact, to each would her lips ask a question, her young voice hoarse and now only whispers from the many hours of use. But all for naught, for none would listen, and had they lent her their ears would they not have understood her tongue there was exotic even for them. But with the sun going up, and the sun going down would she not stop, for she is lost and seeking home.
First of all, long time no see!
Those that know me know that I run things a bit differently than others. When I play are there no hand holding, there are no bigger hints and nothing are served on silver platters. It is possible to "fail" this game, or even die or what there is worse, so see it as a challenge if nothing else.
As said before, some know me better than others, but let me refresh this, I will only be posting about once every day, and maybe not at all in the weekends. What I will post for you will be the best quality that I can muster thou. I do know that my Danish brain can write some rather odd syntax and wordings at times, so it is more than fine to poke me on our chat and ask for clarification if needed, do just know that no extra info will be given this way.
I plan on posting between 200-1000 words with each post. I do not expect others to post that long replies, but I do expect others to show me the same effort and respect that I am showing them. If you know in advance that you can´t post multi para posts without trouble, or if you know in advance that you can´t read that much in one go is this game not for you.
While I as a GM hate to railroad stories would I recommend that people should think about how they could get the session moving with a good first post, and how their first interactions with Umbra would fit in. I do not say that people only should write their characters into the slave market and nothing else, but the slave market is a needed setting to begin the game properly. If needed for atmosphere can the "slave market" post be the second post if people like to introduce their characters first.
This game is in the NSFW part of the group because of how it are going be be a bit more gritty, gory and in general bleak than most games. While I do not aim for smex, mostly because it takes time to play an intercourse out, do I not mind sexual tones in the game.
This game will have 5 spots. The spots will not be given by the first come, first served principle, but on a combination of which players and characters that I think would have the best and most entertaining chemistry. To try to claim a spot do you just need to link your character from the character thread, and if you wish to add or edit all the data that you wishes.
And last but not least, this is about having fun. Both players and GM alike, not to win, but to have fun and tell an amazing story. I aim to challenge and give others smiles on their lips when they read their reply, and I hope that you will do the same.
