Defenders of Equestria: Class B

A group of ponies stood in the observation deck of the airship that was flying them to Valhalla, the school that had either invited them to join or they had went through combat training in special schools. Whatever the the reason for the ponies to be going to Valhalla, they were still on the observation deck and could see the area below them as they flew by.

The view was breathtaking. They could see mountains and little mountain springs. They were flying over an area with valleys that had lakes. Looking across into the horizon, the ponies can see that they were at cloud level. The sun was just reaching its peak as they finally flew over the city of Canterlot. Ponies walked around down below them as they flew towards their destination, a massive building with different towers for those who just want to sit and look at the city down below them.

The city of Canterlot was on the side of a mountain while the school was on the top of the mountain. There were many trees in front of the school that just added to the view. The front of the school had a nice grassy field that had a path leading down the middle, towards the front doors of the school. There was a water fountain off to the left of the school.

A lone thestral stood off to the side, away from the others. There was a helmet with a spinal fin on the top in his hands. He kept his head low and slouched a bit. The thestral was gray, had black hair, and wore a silver chestplate and had equally silver armor arm and leg braces. He had a backpack on that practically covered his wings and was wearing black sunglasses that covered his eyes. There was a sword strapped to his left side, it's hilt was dark purple and had a crescent moon engraved into it.

The Notebook

A mare approached the thestral, curious as to why he chose to stand alone, instead of socializing with his future classmates. The mare was flanked by a quartet of blades, rotating beside her like silent guardians. Two on each side. She wore a brown corset over a white shirt coupled with a matching skirt. At her feet, she wore long legged boots of the same scheme.  She also wore a cape, blue with golden trims.

"You there," She said, gesturing at the thestral, ".... wonderful weather we are having, is it not?"

Bountiful Harvest stood near the edge, enthralled by the view. She wore camoflauge cargo pants, an olive tank top, military grade combat boots, and had only her left steel bracers, her leather chestplate and other bracer were in her duffel bag, by her feet. A dark grey steel gladius shortsword hung at her left hip, sheathed. She let her bright green eyes wander the landscape they passed, smiling all the while. She did not know what the ponies felt with their fur, but she loved the feel of a gentle breeze against her bark. The leaves on her mane, tail, and wings rustled, setting the fruit that hung in them swinging side to side slightly. She snapped out of the trance and looke about at the others for a bit before stretching a little, smiling. She plucked a mango from her wing and nibbled it delicately, enjoying the deliscious taste before looking back and seeing the school they were to attend, quickly grabbing her bag and slinging it over her shoulder.

Aerv Xereth was leaning on the ship's fence, admiring the view of Canterlot and the school he will soon be attending. He was wearing a dark-grey jacket, light blue thick chestplate, thick shoulderpads of the same color, dark blue army pants with quite a few pockets and military boots. Around his neck, there was a long green scarf and an olden gold compass and a pair of goggles were resting on top of his head. To cover it all, including his wings, he was wearing a large dark-blue cloak with a hood, that was dramatically waving in the wind as they continued their flight. Hanging on his side, there was what seemed to be a folded weapon, releasing a blue glow.

Aerv felt the breeze reaching his soft ears, since almost little to none reached the skin under his scales, and closed his eyes to focus more on the gentle breeze. As he noticed that they were reaching the school, he too grabbed the bag that was lying on the deck next to him and put it over one of his shoulders, smiling at the school.

Blade picked up his bag as they started to land, placing his shield back on his back. He wore a simple pair of blue jeans and two, almost knee high, black combat boots. He wore a brown leather jacket and a black t-shirt underneath and sighed as he looked over at the new school. The stallion had been through a few special schools that had lead to this point and was happy that he was finally at the last stage of his training.

He smiled happliy and slowly walked onto the school grounds and looked over at the campus and his follow classmates once more. While, he nearly had gotten a heart attack numerous of times at seeing the dragon amongst them and on the verge of attacking it almost just as many.The mere sight of it caused bad memories to come back to him and the helpless feeling he had. So, he had made sure to get off before it did and rush away, making sure he wouldn't have to look at the scaly creature. While, it worked to an extent the fact he knew the dragon was behind him was only slightly better than starring at it.

A lone figure stood in his own corner of the observation deck. Clothed in a long dull-green cloak, a cape draped all the way to his feet, his face was shrouded in shadow beneath the cowl of his hood. He said nothing and did nothing, merely staring down at the approaching school. In his hands, an elegant bow of silver rested, some of the glyphs inscribed on its surface glowing occasionally in hues of vibrant ice blue.

He brooded over the scene from the airship's deck in silence and solitude.

Angel shied from the crowd as they began to land. The albino pegasus seeming to absorb what she could out of her future classmates, clad in a simple white combat tailored dress. Her body covered in the brackets they should be. Slowly building the courage she approached Blade in a attempt to be friendly, simply edging her way towards him. It wasn't out of any sort of conspiracy beginnings, but simply to make small talk, or it would have been had she not jumped away last minute. Making a made dash for the entrance and edit of the craft wanting simply to get off of this aircraft carrier.

Lightning, a 16 thesral, not being too good at socializing, observed the group, she stood at 5.4ft tall, her left arm and shoulders were covered by her Prussian blue, violet, and lemon yellow layered shoulder cloak. under that she wore a black with gold trim right sided button shirt, and smooth light black trousers, the wore tall black boots under her trouser. her right eye was covered with a large leather eye patch with three small white triangles pointing to the center. she desired not to make conversation but to wait for some one to come to her yet keeping rather close to the main group to learn what she could from them.

The thestral looked over at the mare who seemed slightly younger than himself. "Uh...Yeah...It's a nice...day." As he said the word day, he had winced a little bit. He turned his head to one of the windows and looked out it, a small smile creeping onto his lips. "What's...What's a mare like you doing on an airship going to Valhalla?" He asked as he saw the airship was about to land. He walked over to the exit as the ship stopped.

The many ponies on the airship quickly filed out of the ship, many gasping at the school. The ponies almost immediately ran off to do their own things, or explore. A little group of mostly fours ponies stood off to the side and watched the ponies leaving. One was a pegasus, two were earth ponies, and the last one was a unicorn. One of the earth ponies wore a golden helmet that had a light blue plume on the top of it and had equally gold armor.

Once the thestral walked out of the airship, the earth pony that had the golden armor rushed to his side and threw an arm over his shoulder. "There you are. Been wondering when you'd come out of hiding, Star." He grinned evilly at the thestral who pushed the earth pony back. "Aye. That's not nice. Can't we have a fresh start? It's a new school after all."

The thestral just shook his head in response and looked silently at the younger mare. He gestured to her with a hand, silently telling her to follow him. He walked away from the earth pony and his group. He let out a long sigh, before he sprinted off towards the left of the school with his helmet in hand. He could hear the earth pony and his group laughing as he sprinted.

"We'll get you one of these days, batty. Run all you want! We're still in a class together."

"Same as everyone else, I suppose. I am here to learn." she said , following the thestral to the exit. She stopped as she reached it, however, taking a moment to take in the new environment. Welcome to the first day of the rest of our lives... Finally. Valhalla. She thought to herself, and resumed following the thestral. She was about to introduce herself, when the Earth pony approached them.  She shook her head disapprovingly during their exchange. Even here, ponies will be ponies.
"...What was that about---Star, was it?" She asks the thestral, taking up her spot behind him once again.

Aerv Xereth slowly walked off the ship, admiring the area, his new school. "Neat.." He thought, looking at the details, and as he was looking around, he noticed the earth pony approaching them and doing their 'show'. "Must be some bullies..." Aerv thought to himself and walked towards Accentria. Once he reached her, he stopped and extended his arm with plans of shaking hers. "Hi." He said, smiling. "We've been traveling on that ship together for a bit, but I don't believe I've introduced myself yet. My name's Aerv Xereth, what's yours?" He asked, his big blue cloak with a currently-unused hood flowing dramatically in the wind.

Lightning walked off the ship looking at the school and was very quite impressed with the sight of the school. she, with great care and acknowledgement of her surroundings headed towards it, she began to wander, if making friends soon would be a good idea or if she should let chance bring friends to her, after pondering this and realizing that that was a stupid idea to rely on chance in this sort of situation she remembered how the girls of her home town acted when interacting to new ponies, she held her hands behind her back and wafted towards the group containing aerv, star and 1 other, as she had already caught 2 of there names.

The cloaked figure noticed that the ship had landed. His hood still obscuring his face, he strode away from his observation position and off the ship, his cape billowing out behind him. He reached into the folds of his cloak with his left hand as he stepped into the school proper and pulled out a large, shining silver bow with markings running up and down its side.

For some reason, this place gave him a sense of foreboding. He wasn't quite sure why, but he wasn't one to distrust his instincts. They had always served him well.

"Infinity I." He muttered. His right hand became awash with a faint blue glow.

Blade watched as the thestral ran away from the earth pony and his friends. He felt his anger raise a little at the sight, but decided not to jump to conclusions so soon. The only way he would figure that out was by asking, it was also a good excuse to get his mind and body away from the thing that was on there ship. Soon, he noticed a small light from the cloaked figure and let his gaze on him or her linger a few seconds longer than he should have.

After, he made his way through the people that were making their way to the school he got to the earth pony and his group. "Hey." He said as he held his hand out to the stallion. "You one of the older class stallions?" He asked and hopefully get some idea about the students and teachers of the place.

Angel was gone as soon as the ship was down. Too many taller classmates had appeared in the group. It hadn't helped, however, that in her attempt to leave she had found herself in the middle of everybody else. The stallion she had tried to approach, a dragon, and two others. The threstrals didn't scare her much they weren't to much taller than her, but the cloaked stallion gave her chills. She couldn't move though, so she simply hugged her notebook and waited it out. The albino wanted only to disappear at that point, no longer having any courage to even begin to try and speak to anyone.

Lightning took in the knowledge of the shy pony, made her way to the albino mare and leaned forward to look her in the eyes. she smiled for a moment then spoke. "I'm lightning whats your name?",She asked in the most friendly tone she could manage before standing straight, hoping she wasn't being to forward. whilst waiting for her anticipated reply she observed what she could and made herself familiar with the way the older and longer joined students treated the newbies and how one got a good reputation around this place as best she could.

Star looked at the mare he had waved to follow. He stopped under the shade of a tree and slumped down against it. "Yeah. Name's Star Sentinel. And those guys were just a bunch of bullies. You see...They have a tendency to pick on others that are...different." He took off his backpack and put it on the ground. He stretched his bat wings and gave them a little flap. "For me it's my-." He stopped and looked at the dragon who walked towards them. "Uhh...Hello?" He said, giving a little wave to the dragon.

The earth pony looked at Blade with a raised eyebrow. "Older class stallions?" He elbowed the unicorn next to him. "Hey? We older class stallion?" He asked with a smile and laugh. The unicorn just shook his head in response and laughed as well. "Well there you have it. We aren't any older class stallions. But if we were why would we answer a stallion like you?"

The pegasus of the group walked off and walked towards the cloaked figure. The pegasus had a rust colored mane and a simple white shirt and jeans on. He had a black desperado hat on and a red bandanna. He was also orange and his only weapon that was visible was a small knife strapped to his shoulder. He did stay a fare distance way from the cloaked figure, however, wanting to observe the pony first.

The cloaked figure glanced down at his glowing hand. He twisted his fingers around deftly, seemingly doing nothing other than spinning in the air. But soon, with graceful slowness, a pillar of ice-blue light formed in his right hand and moulded itself into a sharp-tipped arrow. As soon as the last pinprick of light slipped into place, the arrow fell, as if only just subject to gravity, and was caught square in the palm of the figure's hand.

He gazed at the arrow, rotating it to inspect it from every angle. He eventually nodded in satisfaction, tucking his right hand into the folds of his cloak and turning around. It was then that he noticed, through the shadow obscuring his face, that there was a pegasus watching him. He did nothing but stare back at him.

Accentria listened attentively shaking her head in disapproval at the mention of the unfair treatment. During Star Sentinel's explanation, She had telekinetically moved the Geas behind her and by tilting them horizontally, she created a sort of makeshift bench--- All the while paying full attention to Star. Sitting on them, she again moved the Geas, positioning herself so that she could easily see both Star Sentinel and the dragon. She then waved him a polite hello, and gave him an equally polite smile in greeting.
A dragon? Interesting. She thought to herself.

Blade shrugged and didnt seem to mind that he was classified as a different stallion though internally he wanted to punch the earth pony. He actually seemed as if he was actually curious about it. His eyes wandered a brief moment as he watched the pegasus leave his group and move over to the griffon before moving back to the stallion he was talking to. "I don't know really. Also, a stallion like me? What do you mean?" He asked wondering if there was an actual reason for the earth pony saying what he said outside of beingthe regular bully that he was being. If it was then he would be sure that the stallion was simply full of it and not simply joking around.

Aerv waved back at Star with a big smile. "Bullies.. another correct guess for me." he said and chuckled. He noticed Accentria's floating swords and slightly wondered how did they support her weight. He decided to himself that the answer was simply 'magic' and that he's not gonna question it anymore. "So, uhm.." he began, trying to start the conversation. "..How do you like the school so far? I mean, the outsides of it... I just love the design." He said, scratching the back of his head as if he was unsure if that will make him any better friends with mainly Accentria and Star.

Angel almost fell backwards as she was suddenly approached by the other pony using her brackets she caught herself and stood back up, trying to find a way to respond. But simply finding herself at a lose of words, she didn't want to talk. Not in this crowd, not in private, not to this pony. It wasn't ill will, but simply lack of knowledge. She wanted to know about them before knowing them. That was how she had always been, but this time around was different. Never before had she been so forward oh approached by someone. So it left her without a thought as to what she needed to say. Hello, I am Angel. That was what they wanted to hear right? It didn't matter at this point, looking down she just barely muttered inaudibly her responce, "I'm Angel Glow."

lightnings very sencertive ears twitched as she picked her name up and nodded with a smile. she relaxed her stance up as much as possible as to remove the feeling of fret as much as possible for the shy mare. she said, in her most softest voice. "that's a pretty name" she looked out the corner of her eye to the mare and then looked up smiling as if she had just made a great resolve, even her breathing had calmed to a steady rate. she looked around and took in what she could. this was all turning out how she always had hoped, and she could not be happier, for that was the moment she had all her opportunity and paths lade out for her ready for her to make a move.

The earth pony seemed to glare at Blade. The other two ponies looked at each other with a every worried look on their face. "Now, now, Storm! No need to get so fussy on a simple unicorn, right?" The unicorn said to the earth pony in armor. The other earth pony nodded he head. The earth pony looked to be carrying four different bags, probably each on the bags belonging to each of the four ponies in the little group. He also looked very concerned. "Come on Storm. We better get some exploring done before that short little meeting starts." The unicorn patted the armored shoulder of the earth pony.

"Whatever." The earth pony named Storm turned away. "And don't forget to give Dark Wing his bag. He seems to be staying here for a while." He said over his shoulder at the earth pony carrying the bags. He gave a little salute and tossed the orange pegasus one of the bags as he passed. "We'll see you at the meeting, right Dark Wing?" The earth pony stopped and looked at the pegasus.

The pegasus caught the bag and slung it over his shoulder. He looked between the cloaked figure and the earth pony. "Uhh...Yeah. Ah'll see ya soon." He said with a southern accent. One the earth pony was gone her turned back at to stare at the cloaked figure. "Uhh...Howdy?" He gave a slight wave and a little smile. He scratched the back of his neck. "Now if ya think ah'm one o' em bullies, ah'll tell ya right now ah ain't." He said firmly, hanging his head a little.

Star looked at Accentria and Aerv. "Uh...yeah..." He stood up and slung his backpack back onto his back. He picked up his helmet and put it on. "This is getting a tad awkward for my taste. Why don't we explore the school a little bit? We have some time before we have to get going to that little meeting. You know the one where they tell us what we will be doing." He gave them both a smile and stretched his arms. "Plus! We aren't stuck in that airship anymore. Freedom from that cramped space." He gave a little chuckle.

The cloaked figure advanced slowly towards the pegasus. Dark Wing... He drew the arrow out of his cloak and re-shaped the tip, moulding it into something far blunter. It lost the sharp edge and instead adopted a hammerhead-like look.

"Show me." The figure stated curtly, walking right in front of the pegasus. "Show me you're not. And then tell me why you were with them."

He twirled the arrow around in his hands and nocked it into his silver bow. Pain with minimal injury... "Punch II." The ice-blue arrow seemed to shift and morph, returning to its original shape a few moments later but now glowing with a faint purple hue. He raised the bow, not quite threateningly yet but in a position to be soon. He stared at the pegasus expectantly.
