Breaking Quarantine

Blaze regards the stallion coldly, firing all the stun spells into him. It makes an effort to guide them around the hammer, sending a few of them around back. The guardmare, Star, would hopefully be able to handle the rest.
Just in case though, it began charging several more stun spells.

The series of stun spells didn't even come close to the stallion, breaking apart and seemingly being absorbed by the hammer. As more spells were slung at him, the more were broken down, and the slowly brighter the runes glowed. When the stallion got within the last bit of distance to Blaze, he sprung towards it, bringing the warhammer down in a powerful smashing arc. Even if Blaze managed to dodge the attack, a sudden shockwave like explosion erupted out from the source of the impact, very similar to when the stallion's sword had broke before, only the hammer remained intact. this close, Blaze could blatantly feel the magic draining effects of the void stone that the entire weapon was made of, and in fact she would have never seen a crystal even close to this size.

Star blinked for a moment as he heard an explosion. He muttered a curse and looked at the rune gun for a moment. Wasn't good with whatever that gem was...but maybe it hurts like hell when smacked with? Not that he had much time to really decide on it as he flew back over to the stairs and straight down them as fast as he could...barely having time to register that the stallion and Blaze were in the way...So he decided to try and push Blaze out of his way enough and fly straight at the stallion to hopefully tackle him.

Despite Star's valiant effort to help Blaze with the void knight, the knight spotted and reacted to the tackle. He brandished the maul with a quick upward swing that caught Star under the jaw with a sickening crack. With the charge effectively halted, the knight brought the hammer back around to once more unleash a powerful arcing slam. The hammer's head sailed through the air before crashing into Star, slamming the poor thestral into the already disorientated Blaze before a second shockwave erupted out from the weapon, tearing both pony and ooze apart.

And just like that, the forsaken city claimed yet another research team, as well as the lives of those that'd assisted them.
