It's been an relatively peaceful couple of years in these lands. Albeit with a bit of instability, the neighboring countries have managed to keep from tearing each other apart in all out war so far. For one reason or another, they do not all get along, be it for cultural reasons, logistical, or what might be considered downright disrespect by some. In this time of unstable peace, a terrible force of darkness grew and festered deep in the canyons beyond the south. Soon, it would spring up and begin dominating the land as it made its way north. No-one knows yet what exactly it is that is making its conquest across the kingdoms, empires and unions, but all signs point to a foe of unparalleled power. If these small nations have any hope of surviving, they will have to work together... Whether they like it or not.

Ok, this is my first time doing this type of thread, but hopefully we can get through it without any complications. The idea here is that players will be placing a character in charge of their respective nation, and thus in charge of their military. This nation may or may not get along with it's neighbors and that may or may not effect how they interact with said neighbors.

Now here are a few things that you'll need for your signup:

Leader:(Your Character goes here)
Greatest Military Strength:(Name ONE thing that makes your military stand out among others)
Greatest Military Weakness:(This one is important and I won't accept any bs. This needs to be a flaw that can be potentially fatal if exploited)
Short Cultural description:(Briefly describe how your nation interacts between themselves and other nations.
Vanity item:(Something your country has that others would potentially want)
Quirk:(Something others might find negative about your culture)
Boon:(Something others might find positive about your culture)

More things will be added as I see fit but those will do for now. I'm not going to railroad this thread. It can end in a number of ways and I can't guarantee that everyone will survive. Some of you may die. That being said, lets get the signups underway.

Leader: Queen Chief Nuria Wintersbane
Greatest Military Strength: Larger than normal military due to warrior culture.
Greatest Military Weakness: Significantly weaker fighting force in extreme cold weather climates.
Short Cultural description: As a kirin consistent warrior culture, they often fight among themselves for sport. As their culture mainly revolves around a warrior, strength based status system, they often view visitors or other nations as being weaker than themselves.
Vanity item: Prime farmland that is mostly used for hunting rather than farming.
Quirk: Often perceived as lazy, dimwitted or barbaric.
Boon: Surprisingly friendly in person for being a warrior culture.

Greatest Military Strength: Outstanding range troops in general with specially designed Janissary troops as their elite.
Greatest Military Weakness: Lacking in heavy armour
Short Cultural description: The powerful Gryphons and Earth ponies made a pact under the divine wisdom of Ishkar to help one another and form a strong bond of friendship between them. Most of the culture is based around honor and sacrifice, the army is placed in high regards and those worthy are placed in a hall of heroes.
Vanity item: Exotic clothing material from the trade hubs.
Quirk: Pride and honor are held in the highest regards to the point of overcoming justice.
Boon: You always know they are telling the truth, honesty goes with their honor.

Leader: King Indicus (bottom post ignore history for RP) Vencule

Greatest Military Strength: (Focus on technology and sciences) high amounts of research into new technologies and other sciences have lead to deeper understanding of how the world works and how to use that to an advantage in conflicts.




Greatest Military Weakness: due to a large mix of different races and cultures sometimes small conflicts can arise between them causing in fighting that can sometimes last for months and disrupt parts of the economy till Thalems military is able to put an end to it and even then unease can still remain.



Short Cultural description: Thalemn tries not to get into other countries problems and conflicts unless it is felt that said problem or conflict will become a major issue to the countries security or economy. The country contains a variety of races and is accepting of anyone who wishes to go trough the immigration process no matter the race or customs as long as the law is obeyed.

Thalem spits it's country into six districts with each possessing a district leader that is responsible for security and the economy of said district. These leaders also act as the rulers eyes and ears into the state of the kingdom. Big problem is that sometimes a district leader gets greedy and exploits the citizens in the district and because the crown can not be everywhere at once it may take awhile before the corruption is found and taken care of.

Vanity item:  large deposits of high quality iron, and coal

Quirk: Thalemn's foreign policy of staying out of conflicts between other countries
Boon: acceptance of anyone of any race or culture as a citizen as long as the correct legal channels are taken.

Greatest Military Strength: The variety of troops that can be used in battle and how they work together

Greatest Military Weakness: Normally falls apart if taken outside of large group of people

Short Cultural description: It is very accepting of cultures and new ideas though it's main focus is on the principle that everyone can do something, especially for the army. It is very prideful nation though tends to let others come to enjoy it instead of branching outwards, leading to little expansion outside of the mountain area it controls.

Vanity item: The mountain passes that it controls

Quirk: It often causes tensions between countries due to how heavily military might is focused upon

Boon: How united that the country is and how even those that are disabled are able to get use.

Greatest Military Strength: Meritocratic professional army and officer corp.
Greatest Military Weakness: Relies on small-unit tactics and extreme tactical flexibility, so has a very limited capacity to deal with large numbers.
Short Cultural Description: Has a very strong "survival of the fittest" mentality, although with a very flexible idea of what constitutes "fitness". Imposes no barriers to entry for any profession or position except for the requirement that anyone who wants the profession or position has to demonstrate that they're meritorious enough to warrant it.
Vanity item: Ornaments woven into their hair denoting achievements and recognition of merit.
Quirk: Perceived as being narrow-minded ignorant brutes with no concept of fine arts or culture.
Boon: Have no apparent prejudices or biases against anyone, anything, or any idea that has genuine merit to it.

Leader:Sophie Witherweird, of House Mistcrown.
Greatest Military Strength: Mistcrown employs primarily battlemages, many of which are capable of channeling their spells through weaponry.
Greatest Military Weakness:Anti-magic effects can cripple large swaths of the army, and Mistcrown lacks a dedicated melee force.
Short Cultural description:(Briefly describe how your nation interacts between themselves and other nations.
Vanity item:The Mac an Luin flower, which can be fermented into Evershock Brandy.
Quirk:Demons, Angels, and other extraplanar creatures are treated far more casually than normal, to the point that some children spend large portions of their childhood on other planes. This means that most citizens of Mistcrown are very blunt and scatterbrained.
Boon: Mistcrown has a very good brewing and enchanting industry, something they are all too happy to export.

Leader: Arnia, Aurora, and Nox (Vanaeria's military leader)
Greatest Military Strength: geography: with their cold region and mountainous surroundings, the Vanaerians have a great defensive advantage. Their defense is very comparable to a game of "King of the Hill".
Greatest Military Weakness: They are greatly lacking in offensive training and strategy, as such is usually largely unnecessary.
Short Cultural description: Vanaeria is a small, isolated triarchy far in the North. The population is over 95% pony, and many of them are earth ponies. They are short, fluffy, and tough. Vanaerians are a politically active race of ponies, not content to let the Princesses, Queen, and top 1% make all the decisions (thank you, Binkel ^u^/) ). They are very distrusting of foreigners, but they can warm up to them.
Vanity item: Past the jagged, icy mountains, Vanaeria has surprisingly beautiful flora, architecture, and a large, sparkling lake near the middle of the kingdom. It's a sight to behold.
Quirk: the population's noticeable xenophobia
Boon: Vanaerians are tough, both in body and heart. They can take a lot and give a lot back, whether that be in punches or bear hugs.
