Night time Sounds

In the training hall, A white unicorn looking pony stepped through one of the doors with the required mental image in his head to set the stage for this fight. The scene was set, a sprawling cityscape, filled with streets, buildings, and alleyways. All of it though was in a state of some kind of destruction as if a lot of fighting had already occurred here. most windows were shattered, many of the building walls were scored with cracks and holes, and few of the doorways still actually sported a door.

The pony himself was a bit of a sight himself, actually sporting clothes. An unassuming pair of pants and a shirt with an open hoodie. His blue with silver tips mane and tail bobbed with every step, but the headphones he wore didn't budge at all. At his sides were a sword in holster and a pistol. Finally the pony wore a bandanna around his face, obscuring everything from the nose down with cloth that had an impossibly wide, sharp toothed grin pattern on it. The pony took a few more steps forward, before waiting for his opponent to appear.

Walking up to the training hall the tan mare took a look around "Is that it, just one building? Well that where the challenge is." Despite this she continue to walk in the hall. She saw one of the door with her name on it. " One room? This is not going to take too long." She enter the door to the surprise of an full city. "What the heck... Okay This could work." Looking down the street, she saw a hooded figure. "A sword and some kind of pistol. This guy better have something up his sleeves."
"Hey, Dude are you the pony that I'm fighting?" The mare yelled in attempt to get the Hood attention.

As for the mare herself she had her kunai holster to her hind leg.

Rez turned to look at the mare as she spoke, despite the headphones that were on his head. His horn lit up with magic, but instead of a weapon, what appeared to be a dry erase board with marker came out instead. A few scribbles later, and the board was tossed over at her. It read, "Yeah, I think so. We can start when you want," in blank ink, and surprisingly well spaced letters which hinted that he'd been writing on these kinds of boards for a while.

While the board was read, Rez just stood there at the far end of the street, watching and waiting for the mare to offer introduction or start the fight.

Nightingale read the board while still keeping an eye on the hooded figure. "he just standing there what this guy plan?, Well there no way I'm charging head on." "Name's nightingale, what's yours?" she asked before tossing the board back. "There an ally right beside me, let's see if this guy like to play tag."

The pony wrote on the board again and then threw it back over again. "Resonance, but you can call me Rez for short," could be read on the board. While it was being read, Rez seemed to reach into his coat, but it was no weapon he drew out, instead it looked like some kind of music player. Rez seemed to fiddle with it a little until apparently coming to a song he preferred and then placed the device back into his coat. While he stood there, Rez's head began to bob up and down a little to the beat of the song.

"Is.. is he... Oh is a cocky bucker, well this should be enjoyable then." "Well then Rez." She chuck the board like disk at Rez. While the board was in flight. Gale ran into the alley.

Rez deftly caught the marker and board, and carefully put them both back among his things so as to not damage either of them. As Nightingale ran into the alleyway though, Rez didn't chase after her. He did start to walk towards one of the ruined buildings on the other side of the street though. And after a little bit more walking, he reappeared on the roof of the building, looking about to try and spy Nightingale. The sword had been drawn while he was in the building and the handle rested in his mouth. The weapon's blade was currently only the length of a short knife.

Gale was in between buildings hiding behind one of the buildings. Where is he he can't be that soft to lose t a board.She looked up at the building. "Should get to higher grounds. might be hiding wings under that jacket of his."

Gale's hoof starts to spawn a little black mist. Gale whisper, not to be heard "ereh revo teg". The black mist, turn violet before spawning an ghostly gray chain. With a little twirl gale knock the lock on a fire escape ladder. She twirled the chain around her hoof. In a few moment, She got to the roof top. She looked across the way to find Rez. "Well that just rude." Her hoof with the chain begins to glow again.

Rez continued to look around for but a moment, and then his eyes landed right on Gale. With the sword at his mouth, or at least creating a fold in the bandanna where his mouth should be, Rez drew the pistol with his left hoof, aimed quickly, and pulled the trigger a few times, sending 3 small fireballs at Gale.

Gale used the chain to slash 2 of the balls and narrowing dodging the third. The fireballs destroy part of the chain. "That thing shot fire, Good to know." Quickly pointing her glowing hoof at Rez. "Buckshot!"
With that an large, purple ball of energy head right to Rez.

Rez dodged to the side of the energy ball, firing off 3 more shots from his rune pistol. Then he ran up to the edge of the building and ducked behind the small rise along it's edge before looking back to see how much damage the orb had done to the roof.

"Oh crad." Gale dodge to the edge of the building. One of the fireballs nicked gale's hind leg. Before she got out of the way. "Oh, this is a fun guy." She made an circle in the air while doing so, an arcane circle appeared. "Try this one." "Shadow bolt" Gale punch the circle upon breaking an bolt of black lightning appeared firing at Rez. Gale then jumped off the building. Into the dark ally below.

If he could have cursed, he might have. For the moment though, Rez was just thankful he'd had the forethought to duck behind some cover after that last shot. That however didn't mean he wanted to be at ground zero for when the lightning bolt hit, and so as it arced it's way down to where he was hiding, Rez bolted away, down into the hole blasted in the ceiling from the prior spell. The blast came, and had him hitting the ground a little harder than he would have liked, but overall, he was still mostly fine.

Rez then got up, dusted himself off a little, and proceeded back up to the roof again, where he'd once more look around, though now he was at a different section of the roof where the little rise around the edge was still intact.

Gale manage to land some what soft on the ground."No screaming, ether he is a mute or he dodge. And there my answer darn it." Gale's hoof began to glow violet again. "Hmm I don't want to tired myself out but I need to get something on him." She turn off the glow, looking down the alley she was in, she saw a trash bins and a dumpster. "That can work... I think." She pick up one of the lids to the bin.

From the ally Gale chuck the lid right to Rez. In mid flight Gale made a serpentine sprint to the ally on the other side of the street.

When Gale landed, Rez's eyes went right to the alleyway and he was watching it when she launched the trashcan lid. Turning his attention away from the lid however, Rez aimed the pistol at Gale again, and fired off another four shots as she zig-zagged towards the other side of the street. He paused two shots in to bat the trashcan lid off to the side with his sword. Once Gale got under his range, Rez put the pistol back into it's holster, backed away from the edge, and then looked towards the roof access to await for Gale to appear.

Gale looked back to see the burn marks on the road where rez shot. "Ok, he really good at this and smart to boot.hmm But I still have some aces left to play." Gale took a deep breath and turn into a shadow and used the shade from the buildings to get up.
A few feet away from the edge where Rez once stood. Gale turn back to pony form, latching on to the edge and hoister herself up. quickly and quietly. proceeding to quietly charge behind aiming for Rez.

A dry erase board would be suddenly levitated up right in front of Gale's face to stop her charge. "It's really hard to sneak up on a sound mage," it read and then it was levitated away while Rez reached up a hoof and pulled down his headphones. The music that was playing could be faintly heard at first, but rather suddenly became louder and louder, until Rez's eyes narrowed a little at a crescendo in the song. A shockwave of sound, made visible by the damage to the roof it made as it progressed, was unleashed and traveling quickly at Gale.

"The Buck is a sound mage? Ah crad!" with the massive sound wave, Gale was send fly across the street again on to the roof top. She crashed and tumble across the building. Coming to a stop on the roof access. Gale cover her ears as they were still ringing. "Ah son of a.. damn hiten scenes. Ok, my sneck skills are pointless, he has a strong attack that throws me like a rag doll and that pistol of his is becoming a pain in the neck. what next can he read minds. Rez if you can read my mind that just not cool." She went behind the roof access to get out of Rez sights. "So you want to play, like that." All four of Gale's hoofs start to grow black. She then made a an arcane circle on the roof access.  "Then I'll play by mine." She place two hooves on the circle upon doing so, The building started to get clocked in dark mist.

Upon hearing Night start with the "So you want to play, like that," Rez decided that it was time for him to put some distance between them. As she was saying "Then I'll play by mine," Rez was running towards the opposite edge of the building and jumped off it without any hesitation. As he started to fall, Rez caught sight of the black mist and while curious about it, he was still glad to be away from it. When he landed, Rez tucked in his head and rolled with the motion, meaning he only got a few small bruises before taking off the rest of the way across the street.

Rez still didn't like being on the low ground though, and while he was partially looking back to see what Gale was up to, he was also looking at the buildings he was moving by for one that he could easily get to the roof of.

The glow on gale's hooves started to blink. Gale let go of the circle and started to huff. "This is bound to scare him." The mist stop flowing but it keeped the building covered and the mist reached around the surrounding buildings. "He too smart to stay, that being said he probably try to get to another high point and we be back to square one."Gale turn off the glow on her hooves. "I probably can't do anything too fancy for a bit, but. all I need to do is get him to the dark side. I wonder if this thing has a night system." She walked over to the edge and peered through the mist from rez building. "Safe bet he went the other direction." Gale took a deep breath and disappeared into the shadows again heading in Rez direction.

Rez spared the occasional glance back at the shadow covered building, and the shadows that were spreading to cover other buildings. With just a bit of curiosity, and because he wasn't exactly trying to be sneaky. Rez turned about, drew his pistol and fired a shot at the shadows, just to see what'd happen. Though he continued to move right after the shot, re-holstering the pistol as he ran. Still on the side of the street, Rez kept running and looking for a new open roof for him to occupy, but he wasn't having much luck in finding one yet. A curious thing he decided to do though as he ran, and after moving his headphones back up onto his ears, Rez's magic sparked to life. Gradually, but quickly, all the sound in the area seemed to start to dull. All noise was made quieter until it was all but gone. Gale could stomp, scream, and shout, but she wouldn't be able to hear anything. Rez on the other hoof, continued his bit of hearing, amplifying all sounds around him, but keeping a cap on the volume so he didn't destroy his own ears.

Gale notice the bulb of fire in her shadow form. Turning back to pony form while still hiding in the mist. "He couldn't gone that far away then. Gale jumped on to a near by dumpster to get some height. "What the... "She tap her hoof on the lid to hear nothing. "Oh, so he trying to hide his sounds. Too bad for him some mare can sense his blood. Wait, he just turn off the sound, why would somepony that uses sounds... " An evil grin appeared on Gale's face. "Rez you done goof." Once again Gale turn back to her shadow form, going one ally over as not to be directly behind Rez but shortening the distance.

Rez continued running down the street, sword still held in the bandanna around his mouth. He looked back to where Gale had been when she spoke, but a shadow doesn't exactly make noise and so he didn't notice it from that. Rez however continued onward towards what appeared to be a destroyed doughnut shop. He was looking over the shop for now, not entering it yet, but more deciding if he wanted to use that building as his temporary high ground.

The mist started to become to thin at one point. She been using the destroy buildings shadows to continue her shadow run. She turn back to pony form. knowing that she must limit her movement she pop back in to pony form next to a collapse part of a brick building.
She picked up a brick and chuck it at a window frame of the donut shop. Before taking another deep breath and going back to shadow form.

Rez heard the sounds of the brick being picked up, and then flying through the air, but he didn't turn to address it, he just made sure it wasn't going to hit him as it sailed through the air. Despite that though, he still couldn't hear any hoof steps, or even the fainter flap of wings in the air. Deciding it was time to pull out the next stop, Rez turned around and looked towards a taller hotel across the street from the doughnut shop. With the motions of what'd amount to letting out a sigh, Rez lifted one hoof up and then seemed to punch towards the roof of the building, an act that achieved a surprising result as his hoof stretched and/or extended all the way up to the top of the hotel where it seemed to latch onto something. Then with a little hop, the hoof retracted, zipping Rez upwards and towards the building's roof.
