Sacred pressed her lips together as she listened to Ardent. She was about to ask another question when she heard the request to sit and wait and decided to follow it. She sat down and hung her head a little, waiting. Her muzzle scrunched up a little in thought, trying to think about what to do. Should they still go to the badlands...or should they listen to Ardent. She just didn't know what to do and it did not help that she couldn't scream in frustration! She ground her teeth a little before pausing and lifting her head when Ciergey arrived. She let out a deep breath and stood up. She paused and watched Ardent for a moment, then quickly backed away from the map as it disappeared in fire and smoke. She watched the unicorn as she left, pressing her lips together again. She waited for her to be far enough from hearing range before turning to her roommate. "You ready to meet up with the others to go to the Badlands?"

However, it seems that Dust's player has been physically ill due to anxiety and really hasn't been up to posting for three or so weeks due to her parents threatening to destroy her electronics.

"I don't think they told us," Dust said with a frown. "Should we just go back to our room?"

"That might be our best bet Dust," Sena replied as she nodded with a sigh. "Heh, this little expedition is off to a wonderful start, wouldn't you say?" she went on to try and make light of the groups first little blunder of not even designating a meeting spot for after they gathered the needed supplies. She turned about and began walking back with towards the dorm room, still smiling lightly as she tried to keep a positive attitude.

"I... don't know." Ciergey hesitated. She hadn't expected a reaction like that from the Headmistress, though in hindsight of course she would want to destroy it. It went to show just how concerned she was about this whole thing. "I... kinda feel like we don't know what we're getting into. Do you think maybe we should, like... not go? The Headmistress has to be acting like this for a reason, and she looks really agitated." She shook her head. "Still, I'm not going to let you guys leave me behind. If we go we go. We just have to be careful, yeah?"

Sacred looked at Ciergey as she hesitated. She shook her head a little and started walking towards the stairs, hoping her roommate was going to follow. "I think there's something going on. The headmistress talked to me while you were getting a map and she said stuff. The professor sent us the map for a reason so what better way to find out that reason when to go to the Badlands. Now come on. We should get back to the other two." She quickly trotted down the stairs and off to their room to meet back with their other roommates. During the walk back, she wished she were a pegasus so that it would have been at least slightly faster...and easier.

Sena managed to get to the room before Sacred and Ciergey and she waited there for their return. Luckily, she looked over at the sounds of approaching hoofsteps and then waved when she saw it was Sacred and Ciergey. "Hey everypony, how'd it go? Are we good to go?" she asked obviously excited for the proposed expedition they were about to embark on.

Ciergey sighed. "I'm just saying, maybe we should actually tell somepony about this whole thing. Maybe get some backup. Like an army or something." Despite her grumbling, however, she followed obediently after Sacred. "We could actually, y'know, die. Which is bad for health."

Once she caught sight of Sena, she waved back, but flinched slightly at her question. She looked hesitantly at Sacred. "Yeah, I guess."

Dust frowned, noticing Ciergey's flinching. "Is something..." she shook her head, quieting. "Nevermind. What did they tell you?" She shuffled awkwardly, obviously uncomfortable with whatever they were hiding for the time being.

Sacred smiled and waved back at Sena when she waved. She kept quiet for a moment as her roommates asked their questions, looking over at Ciergey as she hesitated. She let out a deep breath and nodded her head to Sena's question...then shook her head to Dust's question. "Yes we should be ready to go, no they didn't tell us anything considering the professor is dead." She opened the door to their room and quickly grabbed her bag of bits, throwing them into her saddlebags. "Shall we go to the train station and get tickets to the closest possible location to the badlands as we can get."

"That sounds like a plan!" Sena replied happily as she once more levitated out the map they had acquired and looked for the closest couple of towns to the badlands, just in case one or more of them proved to not be train accessible. After the brief moment spent studying the map and then extra bit of time to pass over the extra goods acquired for Ciergey and Sacred, Sena rolled back up the map and returned it to the spot in her pack before beginning to lead the way out of the dorms, off the campus grounds, and towards the train station. There however she paused and looked back to the group, "so, are we all just buying our own tickets?" she asked with a sheepish and hesitant grin. "Because I might be a tad short on bits after getting these supplies," she added with a grimace.

"I'll, uh, I'll buy the tickets," Ciergey said as she took the goods from Sena, snapping momentarily out of her brooding mood. "I've got enough money on me, it'll do.I think. I mean, if you wanna go beyond the first twenty stations or so then I might, like, run short a little." She sank back into her silence, staring into blank space. "Maybe we should, y'know, bring a sword or something. Or a shield. Or a scroll of Resurrection."

Dust sucked in her breath when the word "dead" was said. She knew it was 95% likely and not some weirdness on the professor's part, but hearing it aloud was... painful to say the least. "...Yeah, I can pay for some of the tickets. As for weaponry... We're all unicorns, aren't we? We all have to know at least something in the way of self-defence magic."

"Yeah, umm, of course we do. I'm sure we'll be fine!" Sena replied though the enthusiastic exclamation was marred by her pitifully worried expression. To tell the truth, she had no clue as to offensive and defensive magics yet, she hadn't gotten to those books yet, but there was no way she was going to let a little something like that stop her from going on this exciting adventure with her... friends? Yeah, that's what they were to her, her first friends just like the ones everypony was always talking about or seemed to always have. In her little walking inner thought process, Sena had barely realized the progress she was making towards the train station along with the others and before she knew it, the ticket booth was right before her. "So how does this work? Do we just go up and ask for the tickets, and where's the train? She asked while looking around excitedly.

Dust shrugged. "There's probably a booth near the platform. There'll be directional signs in all likelihood. The stations were built to be mostly idiot-proof. The pony on the train will take your ticket, make sure it's valid, all that jazz, and then you just ride the train."

Ciergey stood in front of the ticket booth, counting out coins from her purse. She had a lot of small-denomination coins, she realised, and they began to float up out of her purse and pile themselves up onto the counter. She eventually stopped when she thought she had enough, handing them over to the booth pony with a sheepish smile. "So, um... four tickets please?"

Sacred looked at Sena and Dust for a moment shrugging. "Train arrives at a certain time. Sometimes it gets held up and comes later than expected. Let's hope it's going to come on time." She scratched the back of her neck, looking down at the ground for a moment. She then ran after Ciergey to the booth for their tickets. She looked at her fellow unicorn for a moment before adding on, "To Dodge Junction." She smiled kindly at the booth pony.

“That’ll be…” The stallion behind the ticket booth began, stopping to take a headcount before continuing, “Forty bits, please. Your train should be arriving in…” he stopped again, glancing at something taped to one of the booth’s windows, and continued “Twenty minutes.” Once the mares had payed what they owed him, he would slide over four tickets stamped “DODGE JUNCTION”.

There were conveniently placed benches scattered across the platform for patron use, each fitting five ponies comfortably with ease. The station itself was fairly empty, with only a dozen or so other ponies awaiting such an early departure. Eventually though, notably twenty one and a half minutes later, said train would arrive and open its doors for boarding.

Sena watched the train enter the station with big curious eyes, and started to approached it before the engine let out it's excess steam. When it did and the loud hiss resounded outwards, she jumped back just a little bit. Then the doors opened and ponies started filing in and out and with that the last shreds of her hesitance disappeared. Hopping onto the train with a skip in her step, Sena quickly took a seat in one of the booth like chairs, scooting close to the window so she could look out it, though her eyes were also wandering over just about every inch of the inside of the train as well, making it very obvious if it wasn't already that she'd never ridden one before, or even really seen one up close.

Much lighter now. Ciergey toted her little purse, it having grown much lighter. It was twenty-one and a half minutes' worth of staring at the bag, estimating the change in mass and running numbers through her head to figure out the weight of the smallest-denomination coin before the loud whistle of the train snapped her out of her reverie and back into the real world. It took her all of two seconds to be bumped into by somepony, to whom she gave an apology, then the second who didn't even stop to turn around this time. Ciergey slowly began to realise that she should really be moving.

She darted away from her position on the platform and into the train, looking around for the nearest available seat and all but jumping onto the one Sena was sitting next to. After a bout of heavy breathing she noticed that Sena was there and gave her a sheepish smile. "Hi."

Sacred took the tickets in her magic and looked at them as she trotted back to the others. She continued looking at them for a good three minutes before turning her attention upwards towards the sky for the rest of the time they waited for the train. She had to wonder something...what would it have been like if she were a pegasus. Would she still be mute? ...Most definitely. Would she and her parents have lived in Cloudsdale instead...Maybe. Many question swam through her head as she waited for the train with her...friends. When the whistle blew, she looked down at the train just pulling into the station, blinking. She shook her head and stood up, walking to the train like her friends. And then saw two of them dash off towards a seat. She shook her head slightly and followed the two, sitting down on the booth across from them. She looked at the two for a moment before remembering the tickets, floating them each a ticket. She'd then float over the other ticket to Dust.

Dust had been lost in her own thoughts for most of the wait, and blinked at how quickly the near-two dozen minutes had gone by. It had seemed like thirty seconds... Ignoring the hiss, she stepped inside, taking a ticket. She sat next to Sacred, mumbling a thanks.
