Sparring Match

Jäger responded in a similar move to Rain's stab as he had to Jäger's. As the blade closed in, Jäger would flare his wing so that the blade would stab into the thick material that made up the flap of the wing. Then with a snap, he'd shut it again so that the metal struts that made up it's supporting skeleton trapped the weapon and pulled it away from the harmful path. Then Jäger would try to punch Rain again, this time with the back, flesh and blood hoof coming around in an uppercut.

Blade raises his left hoof to block Jager's punch and throws one of his own with his right, keeping a firm grip on his blade with his right wing he swipes the claws of the left at his opponents face.

Possibly surprising, the hoof wasn't hard to block and contained no more force than a normal punch, a far cry from the blow before that had sent Blade skidding backwards. Jäger though bent his artificial hoof at the join so that his blocked strike became a block of his own. While seeing the wing coming in, Jäger began to shift so that his body would actually be facing Blade while tucking his face so the claws would only scratch along the side and cheek rather than the eyes. However, Jäger was also using the wide strike with the wing to hide his right hoof that was now coming in for a powerful uppercut.

Blade loses grip on his sword as he stumbles back again, the blow to his jaw sendimg a jarring pain through his skull. The thestral struggles to regain his balance, a splitting headeache joining the the pain in his jaw. He groans and slumps to the ground, holding his head in his hooves.
"Nngh... Bloody hell..."

Jäger grinned as the two became detangled, and with a flick of his wing, the sword was tossed over to Blade. "Hyu's pretty good, ya eefen got my fashe," Jäger said with a grin as blood ran down the side of his face, forcing him to shut one eye and deal with a few discolored teeth. "But hy'd gotten hyur shword. Sho, hyu vant a minute and den ve go hagain?"
