Purse Cutter looked rather unconcerned about what the others were doing and instead had flapped her wings to take herself up onto the roof of the nearest building and perch on it, observing from above what the others were doing.

"You might want to get in line love." Purse Cutter called down to Verde Tin from her perch as she withdrew a pair of binoculars from her tap hat and held them to her eyes to observe the rest of the town that wasn't blocked by buildings in unfortunate locations. "You're not the only one looking for a cure, because oddly enough I'm not eager to spend the rest of my life having to live with every stupid decision I make."

The pink and white thestral continued scouting out the town. "Am I invisible to you two?" She called out to Lightning and Sledge, sounding rather irritated.

The moment Sledge opened the door, a gunshot was heard, and that was all she wrote as his head and body were now reduced to a pile of lovely gore, his legs stumbling for all but a second before falling over. The thing that killed him stumbled out of the door of the building, it only being about 20 feet away from the 'Dock Offices & Immigration'. It was a pony with a double barrel shotgun, though it looked to be of poor condition, the pony himself was covered in wounds, his intestines hanging out from his side, his neck and jugular sliced open, his right leg was barely hanging on to where it was connected, and his eyes were blank and vacant. He heard Purse Cutter, and aimed the shotgun up at her, firing the second shot. It missed of course, but firing it one handed tore his arm clean off. He drew a blade and sprinted at Robin, his eyes still blank.

Meanwhile, the gunshots attracted unwanted attention, as the figures in the distance came closer and closer. Some of them held guns or crossbows, while others had axes. They were about 80 feet away still.

((IT LIVES! and COMBAT, YAY.))

[Rules for combat:]
1. Every attack is an attempt for a hit, remember that. Certain things like a shotgun in close quarters however, might as well be an auto hit, as proven by Sledge.
2. Your basic melee actions are blocking, attacking, dodging and parrying. Parrying is hard to pull of and requires the enemy to present a melee attack action first, it then requires a series of heavily described actions, but the payoff for a successful parry is amazing.
3. Remember your distances to landmarks so I don't have to pull teeth in the OOC chat.

Verde looks somewhat taken-aback at hearing herself addressed from above, and she brings up a hand to raise the rim of her hat so she can see Purse Cutter as she takes Sonata's invitation to leave the building. "Love?" she chuckles as she reaches down to unstrap her crowbar. "Can't say I'd be opposed to that but I'm still deciding if I swing that way and sorta hoping to live long enough to find out." It was about this point that Sledge pulled open a door and was promptly treated to an unplanned identity change to Hamburger. The buckshot that misses Purse Cutter by a country mile catches her on its edge, at which point it's proven that her heavy gear is tough enough to deflect low-energy shot at a distance. Verde immediately pivots towards the oncoming walking corpse, using her fingers to twist the crowbar around so that she's now holding it by the prybar end, leaving the heavy hook dangling. She rises up on her toes and makes for Robin and thus the decaying person making for Robin, handing off the crowbar to her right hand and rotating it so that the blunt side of the hook is now facing her target. Upon reaching where she plans to be, in the path between Robin and his attacker, she plants her feet, ducks slightly, and winds up to deliver an uppercut at the enemy at the side that no longer has an arm, and thus no longer a weapon.

The figures in the distance getting closer and closer did not escape Robin's attention. Several of them, he noted, were also carrying guns and crossbows, meaning that the distance between him and them was not nearly enough to ensure his safety. In terms of his personal safety though, there was a much clearer threat in the form of the walking corpse that, with a single shot of a gun, reduced Sledge to a pile of gore and almost did the same for Purse, had his - her? Its? He wasn't quite sure at this point - aim been better. Then this walking monstrosity drew a blade and came straight for him.

The gore was nothing pretty, but Robin had seen worse in his time. The fast-approaching danger was much more of a threat, though, and his grip tightened around his knives. His tail began to instinctively fiddle with his butterfly knife. He spread his wings quickly, preparing more for flight than fight, when suddenly he found Verde in between him and his assailant. For a little while, he was tempted, quite a lot, to just make a break for safety and leave Verde to whatever. But then his brain was quick to remind him that firstly, he needed to make allies and he may as well help out this once since he was in slightly less danger, and secondly, that if there were a bunch of guns and crossbows in hostile hands, it would be best for him to have something to shield behind until he could speed off to proper cover. The corpse might come in handy.

His wings spread, he instead dashed forwards and stopping behind Verde, waiting for the attacker to hopefully target her instead. If it did, he'd attempt to spin around and stab it in the back of its head - and everywhere, really, his hands could move pretty fast - while it was preoccupied with Verde. If it still insisted on following him he'd just try to move around and distract it enough for Verde to pick it off.

Sonata was pleased when Verde had taken her up on the offer, but the slight notion towards a smile didn't even have time to completely form before the gunshot rang out. She hadn't been watching that direction at the time, but it was easy enough to piece together what happened, especially when the corpse tried the second failed shot. Though with aim bad enough that the projectiles were actually flying towards herself and Verde, Sonata had to wonder if it hadn't been aimed at them instead. None-the-less, she was all the more grateful when the more heavily armored mare stepped up to block the shots with her armor that could apparently take it, far better than Sonata's own unarmored form.

Before she could get any form of thanks out though, Sonata had an arrow drawn and being aimed towards the corpse that was charging Robin. Before she could take the shot though given the time for extra she was taking to make sure she wouldn't accidentally hit Robin or Verde, the two had sprung into action and seemed more than able to handle the single handicapped undead. Instead though Sonata turned her aim towards the horde that was approaching. A larger number than they had with more weapon than they had. Even if each one with a ranged weapon only had one halfway decent shot before they were finished, as shown with the Sledge-burger there, one good shot would be all it took in some cases.

Easing up on the tension a bit, Sonata looked to the others, "should we try and hide before all THAT gets to us?" she asked aloud while already backing up somewhat. The arrow however remained knocked and depending on the reply, she'd either re-draw the shot back and loose the arrow towards the first target she was confident to hit given the reply to try and fight them off, or she'd turn about and begin looking for places to hide if the reply was to look for hiding places.

Lightning was shocked to suddenly hear the gunshot go off and immediately turned around to draw a knife from his pocket, but Verde had already went to attack. He was caught in mid-throw as he caught Verde moving in for an attack. Since, he it appeared to be a no brainer that the mare could beat the pony, the sudden advance from Robin being a bit of overkill. He immediately went to look at the horde as Sonata called out to them. "Hiding sounds like the best option." He suggested since he doubted that they would get through the battle without drawing even more, even if they managed to beat the horde in front of them. He quickly placed his knife back into his pocket and went to see if there was anywhere that they could lose their attackers as he looked out of the doorway.

Purse looked down at the commotion with a look that was slight disgust bot predominantly curiosity as she watched in particular interest as the pony firing at her missed completely and lost his arm in the process. Either he'd loaded the blunderbuss with enough powder to wake up the whole planet or the stallion was as fragile as a Canterlot Noble's ego.

"Welp, that changes things." Purse shrugged and calmly unholstered her crossbow, loading three bolts into the repeater before taking aim, using the chimney of her building as cover. She took aim at the stallion, adjusting so the chance of hitting an ally was minimal, and fired; she could work out for herself that what would drop a normal pony probably wouldn't work here, so instead she aimed for his central back, hoping to take out the spine.
