When the crystal liquefies under the influence of her hacksaw, Verde's eyebrows table. "What, seriously?" she grouches. It's clear that she's going to say more, something that gives some context to her expression of annoyance and frustration rather than elation, but then there is a roar and she turns and puts herself between Hoodwink and the source of the sound in a single and clearly unconscious movement. She braces herself solidly on the uneven ground, bringing her machete forward and into a ready position before the roof is ripped clean off and she gets a look at the mutant horror of a creature that's attacking the warehouse. Her eyes go wide as saucers and her magical grip on the machete blinks out as she stares up at it.

"Holy lesbiancestuous goddess-ruttings, what the bloody mother of buck is that?" she demands of no one in particular. "It... what... it makes no bucking sense! It's... it's... um... sort of..." she blinks and grins a bit "...cool... On the other hoof, I hear tell that there is at this very moment a certain legendary spirit of chaos petrified in the royal gardens. This looks like a pet project of a chaos spirit." She looks between the two stallions. "If we don't die, one of you can hold the chisel and I'll swing the hammer and we can help a chaos spirit take his first step on the long road to marehood."

While she's babbling, however, Verde has sheathed the machete, put the hacksaw away, and is both pushing Hoodwink back from the direction of the creature and using her magic to drag Heartstring backwards as well. The calm and sudden recovery is at least somewhat of a facade because it's quite clear that she intends to put as much distance as possible between them and this beast.

Verde didn't need to be pushing Hoodwink back; the terrified stallion had already jumped to his hooves and made his best effort to sprint away from the crystal. It took him a few seconds to realise how futile this was as he had tried to pretty much run away from his own leg but it was clear the stallion had had enough; he turned to Verde as if to yell at her and, the way is eyes snapped, it was as if he had only just now noticed the horrendous monster tearing the roof off.

The stallion would normally count his blessing that his cloak and hat hid how much he was shivering in terror but as he was looking that... thing in the face he could only think that he would have traded every treasure he ever stole and ever would steal to be anywhere else.

"What in Tartarus is that?!" He screamed, running for his bag and slinging it onto his back, immediately drawing out his ice axe for some small semblance of defense. The stallion stood his ground for all of a second before he leaped back and cowered behind Verde. "Please for the love of Luna tell me that one of you knows what this insult to all that's good is?!" He asked desperately of Verde and Heartstring as Hoodwink tried to make his legs obey his command to run all the way to Griffhalla and beyond.

Crystal Empire Barracks

"The state of alert is FPCON DELTA. I repeat, the state of alert is FPCON DELTA." This would be repeated over the intercom systems. The Crystal Empire barrack's rose to life faster than Pinkie Pie hopped up on sugar and began to mobilize. The information had arrived to them earlier about a strange Dark Crystal having been found within the alleyway in the Crystal Empire. They had sent out an earlier unit to go and check it out, but had returned with less than savory news.

Commander Battalion was not pleased by this news in the slightest and had mobilized a smaller group to go and find the supposed creature, according to Guard Red Robin, but was quick to find that this creature was far larger than Red Robin had initially told them. It became known not only to the guard's but the rest of the Empire as well. Something that massive was nigh impossible to move about unseen, but for the most part it had moved about for a good amount of time before it had been noticed.

The matters of how it kept itself hidden is a big concern, but not as big as stopping the creature and keeping the civilian's safe. When it had revealed itself it was found near the Warehouse area. The news had immediately been sent back so that they could mobilize a larger group to take down the beast. As soon as the Crystal Empire military finished mobilizing they would head out immediately to the warehouse area.

Heartstring

Heartstring's ears dropped at the screeching of the dark crystal and he flinched visibly pained just to be this close to the screeching sound, though that didn't matter so much as Heartstring looked over to the elderly pony that had yelled at them about being quiet. It was then that it had happened. The point at which Heartstring felt like he just died due to his heart stopping. His eyes widened and visibly he looked frightened. That roar shook him to his core and managed to shake his 'cool' demeanor.

The tearing sound's of the building's rooftop's caused him to turn towards what it was that caused the roof to fly off. At this point he was staring at the creature, much like his companions, he felt terror deep down within him. His heartbeat began to increase, pulsing faster and faster and faster. His ears stood at attention and he could just hear the sound of his heart beating within his ears. He felt his breathing increasing as well, the word's of his companion's and their state had passed right over him. He wanted to scream, he wanted to run, but nothing was working with him. At least not until Verde, who unknowingly saved Heartstring, pulled him with her magic.

This action along snapped Heartstring's mind free and helped him focus. Of course he did feel a little lightheaded, was he holding his breath the entire time? He looked back to see the cowering Hoodwink and the visibly shaken Verde. This was odd, why is it that he had enough time to see all of this happening at once? Was it because of the fear? Was it something else? Heartstring couldn't exactly understand it, just for him and him alone thing's felt still. Though at that moment he just realized what that feeling was, he's had this feeling before whenever he'd come across larger creatures in his adventures over the years. He liked to call it 'the calm before the storm.'

Heartstring finally found his voice in all of this. "L-let us retreat." His voice audibly shaken, though for the moment he still felt his legs, numb, was it numb from fear? Or excitement? He couldn't tell at this point. Heartstring would turn his head some just so he could see behind himself and look at the state of the warehouse's wall. His horn and tribal markings would light up and a hole would tear open the weak warehouse wall, his unicorn magic having 'pushed' a hole through it just large enough for the three to retreat.

Dark Crystal Death Worm Boss

Once it's roar was done, it stared into the warehouse. The silence didn't last long however as all the ponies within began to scream and get up and run towards the Warehouse entrance to run away from the colossal beast that threatens their existence. The beast would at the moment stare into the warehouse, it's eyes visibly moving around as if looking at each moving pony within the building. That sniffing sound would be heard again and it's mouth parted slightly before shutting closed. Whatever it was looking for, it knew that it was in the warehouse.

To those that would be of sound mind, they could notice that the beast hadn't immediately attacked anyone inside and had appeared to be looking and smelling for something. With one of it's arm's it reached into the warehouse and grabbed for a random pony and lifted it up closer to it's head and it sniffed the pony who was whimpering and cowering in fear. It didn't seem all that pleased because it roared again and then, with great force, tossed the pony behind itself through the air. It repeated this process with a couple other ponies since it started to grab for more than one with it's other appendages.

It wasn't all too long before it's eyes settled upon Verde, Hoodwink and Heartstring.

"Couldn't agree with you more, Heartstring," Verde says to him as she sheaths her quite useless machete. "And when we get out of here, you are going to be kissed so hard your entire coat stands on end for an hour, because I love it when exits appear at a moment of maximum convenience to me. So, yanno, work extra hard to survive because I'm going to survive and I have ethical issues with necrophilia."

With her machete no longer held in her grip, Hoodwink feels bands of energy wrap around various points on his legs and finds them being manipulated so that he's walking. If he bothers to look, he sees magical strings leading upwards and disappearing as Verde pretty much manipulates his limbs like a puppeteer, at least until he shakes it off and begins walking under his own power. As she's doing this (and if either looks close enough, is starting to sweat a little), various debris is being picked up and gathered into her magical grip. Some of the debris, such as bricks and stonework and other things that can be bent or further broken, are shaped one-by-one into rough analogues of spikes.

"OK you two, this is how it will be," she says to them loudly enough that they can clearly hear. "Eventually, that creature will focus on us. When it does, run your poor pony plots out that entrance because I'm going to make it really, really, really angry. And we don't want to be around when I make it that angry, but it'll totally be worth it. I promise... I think..." As she says this, the creature starts taking ponies and inspecting them, and then throwing them aside to their likely deaths. The moment its eyes settle on Verde, she stops moving and moves her collection of debris up, doing fine adjustments to it. Hoping the other two do as they were told, she grins up at the beast. "Hey, do you know what a flechette is? Let Auntie Verde teach ya." With one mighty effort that makes her momentarily stagger, she 'fires' her debris into every eye she can see (or has missiles for) and promptly hauls plot out Heart's hole.

Hoodwink's eyes darted back and forth over the creature so fast they blurred at times, obviously trying to look for some kind of weakness he could exploit, or at the very least a practical blindspot to position himself in where it couldn't just drop on him.

Hoodwink looked relieved that Heartstring had oh so kindly created a new exit for them but he had to test something; he had a horrible feeling that he knew what the creature appeared to be sniffing for, and he had to be sure. If it turned out true... well, he'd improvise.

"Just a moment Verde." He called almost casually as he strolled a few paces to the left, putting himself apart from anypony else and dropped vial; a plume of smoke erupted on the spot he had dropped it, with a loud hissing noise. Hoodwink casually sidestepped toward the hole as the loud hissing and smoking continued, keeping his eyes locked on the creatures face to see whether it's eyes followed him or not.

Heartstring
Heartstring, to say the least, blushed at what Verde said. It caught him off guard to ever hear something like that, though trying to see that he blushed would be rather difficult given that he's naturally red to begin with, only spots that would make it noticeable would be on his tribal marking's that tinted a light shade of red. It was definetly a nice incentive to push a stallion through the worst of situations, though her personally didn't think she would actually do it once all is done, but the mention of it was...nice. He would be lying if he said that it didn't give him some confidence, his only response to that comment was a confident smirk as he shifted his gaze over to the massive beast that was tossing ponies like he was tossing out trash.

Heartstring did take notice of the debris that was being picked up and he looked to see if it was being done by the creature, but from the looks of it, it wasn't the creatures and his gaze shifted to Verde seeing that she was the one. He made a mental note about this and glanced back towards the beast. This is not going to be easy, he knew that for sure, but he could just simply run away, right? It was a short lived question that floated in his thoughts before being snatched by Verde speaking out a game plan. Heartstring listened well to what she had to say, but he kept his eyes on the beast making sure he didn't miss anything, such as it trying to attack them.

He took a look towards the front entrance where a couple ponies that weren't grabbed has escaped through. The door's were wide open and clear open space could be easily seen. He did make the escape hole behind them, but considering Verde's plan, it was probably best for them to run out the front entrance, while she grabs the attention of the beast. The plan was going to be initiated, at least he thought it was, until Hoodwink asked that Verde would hold just a moment and Heartstring looked at him rather confused.

The beast's eyes laid upon them by this point and any sort of delay could spell disaster. Heartstring looked back to the beast ready to move at the moment Verde launches the spikes. When the spikes launch, Heartstring would high tail it out the front entrance. Of course, he didn't see this are running away though, he was merely going to relocate into an advantageous position.

Dark Crystal Death Worm Boss

With his eyes focused upon the three ponies that were left within the warehouse the beast did take notice of the floating spikes, but paid little heed to them as he took notice of Hoodwink moving off to the side, creating a smokescreen. This would in turn, not really prove his theory, it could have meant that the beast was merely looking at something that was moving, and the beast lost it's sight's of Hoodwink when the smoke screen went up. It did however seem to get angry at this as it's mouth visibly twitched and this gurgling growl erupted from the beast. Though before he could actually growl the beast would get hit rather hard by the spikes. The spike's actually managed to pierce the eyes and this resulted in a loud roar.

This resulted in a particularly angry beast afterwards. It trashed about for a moment before using it's hands it would pull out the spikes from it's eyes, and black slime would ooze out from it's eye holes. It would fill up the eye holes, and when it stopped thrashing it began to sniff the air trying to find the scent of it's target, this took about two full minutes. Once it found the scent it was looking for, It snapped it's head in it's direction and it would crawl right through the warehouse, destroying whatever got in it's way because of it's massive stature.

Verde actually did as Hoodwink asked, holding off on firing her improvised flechettes until he'd done his experiment with the smoke cloud. The bubbling in the creature's chest, however, seems to make her mind up for her and the moment he emerges again, four rings of magic wrap around his legs and lift him into the air just enough that he can't touch the ground... and then Verde books it after Heartstring, just barely making it a dozen paces passed the exit before she pulls to a halt, puts Hoodwink down, and turns to him, panting from magical exertion.

"Come with me if you want to live," she says very firmly before she turns and continues to run her flanks off, using a little magical tug on the front of Hoodwink to urge him in the direction she and Heart are running before she gets entirely out of range. She takes no visible notice of the sounds of the beast smashing its way after them but as soon as the sound reaches her, she tugs Heart to a side slightly to get him to alter his course and then starts a pattern of weaving through streets and putting as many buildings as she can between herself and the creature, knowing that however strong it is, smashing through so much crystal and stone cannot possibly be effortless and the effort would eventually tire it. Hopefully, before running tires us out, she thinks.

Hoodwink followed along with Verde and Heartstring but unlike the other two he took to the rooftops quickly, jumping across the roofs of various houses and shops to skip over the roads and alleyways entirely. Still though he slowed down enough to keep Verde and Heartstring in sight as he moved far enough ahead to reach back into his rucksack and pull out his bandoleer of vials; he removed all of the vials containing a bubbling puce liquid inside.

He used a bit of string to tie all the vials together in a circle and hopped onto a chimney stack; he kept his eyes on the direction they had come from, waiting for the worm to show itself. He was highly visible on this chimney stack but if all went to plan this would at the very least minimise the harm that worm could do.

"Verde! Heartstring!" He called down to street level, hoping they could hear him. "I'm going to try something really stupid but it might work!" He informed them as he waited for the worm atop the chimney stack; he probably looked like a particularly suicidal idiot but he had to hope his plan worked as he threw his grapple hook to the building opposite the one he was standing on and hooked the rope end around one of his hind hooves.

Heartstring

Now that was a mare, an assertive mare who, somewhat, knew what she was doing in quite a stressful situation. Heartstring wouldn't object to following after Verde and run's after her. Quite quickly catching up to her and kept pace with her. He figured she was trying to get as much distance between them and the beast as possible, but at the same time, Heartstring was being aware of how close they were heading toward's populated areas and he couldn't really sit well with that, for now though they weren't putting the public in danger. They were still within the warehouse district with a good number of warehouses in between themselves and the beast.

As they started weaving through the streets and alleyways once the Beast made itself known to them that it was giving chase. They needed to do something, before they tired out. They couldn't keep running forever, Heartstring pondered an idea. Maybe, I can try that... He thought to himself, but he would need time and right now, with this beast chasing them, it wasn't giving him the ample amount of time he needed. "Verde, I will..." as this point, Hoodwink interrupted him and he would look up at Hoodwink. Momentarily he stopped in his tracks. "Just what is he..." he mumbled as he gritted his teeth, slightly frustrated as these impulsive antics, but at the same time, it was indeed better than doing nothing at all. From the look's of it Hoodwink seemed to know like he had some idea of what he was doing. Now his concerned was about what he himself could do. His brow furrowed together in annoyance at the thought.

He would respond to Hoodwink and spoke loudly. "If this doesn't work, I have a plan." he spoke with confidence, he really hoped Hoodwink's 'stupid' tactic would work, but a backup plan needed to be made and he would require the assistance of Verde and Hoodwink in order to actually get it done.

Dark Crystal Death Worm Boss

The beast was currently blind, but it's sense of smell still guided it where it wanted to go and it chased it's target of rage; Verde. Though the tactic of putting as many building's between them and the beast worked to an extent. It did succeed in slowing it down, but it didn't stop it. It pulverized through the crystal warehouse buildings. Not even the sharp pieces of the crystals were capable of piercing through it's skin, they merely broke when too much of the weight landed on it. After hitting through at least two buildings it would stop a moment and sniff the air as if trying to locate the direction Verde was at, by this point the beast was well within visual sight of the trio, but separated between three warehouses spaces.

Under the low lighting and the fact that it's now slime filled eye holes blended with the rest of it's skin, it would be near impossible to tell that the beast wasn't bleeding from it's eyes. The slime was doing something. The beast caught the direction of Verde's scent and turned its head in that direction and and it's mouth began twitching like it did before. It would be pretty obvious to tell that it was preparing to charge in that direction. It released a short roar it's mouth opening revealing the fleshy barbed teeth that all wriggled and moved on it's own before it's mouth shut and it charged in Verde's direction.

Crystal Empire Army

The army was quickly mobilizing and their main concern was simultaneously evacuate the civilian's that were nearest the beast and block off the section to prevent the beast from going any further as well as sending off a good amount of soldiers to go and battle the beast. They were moving quickly and splitting themselves up effectively to get their job's done in the most efficient manner. The blaring sirens could easily be heard by all to wake civilian's from their bed, Crystal Pony guards, all unicorns, speaking loudly thanks to a vocal amplification spell alerting them 'Everyone is require to evacuate immediately, please follow the guard's direction...' and that would faintly repeat off in the distance.  4 units, composed of 6 Crystal guards each, Three crystal unicorns, Two crystal pegasi, and 1 crystal earth pony per unit are currently en route to do battle with the beast.

"I'm fully in favor of you being a very stupid stallion, Hoodwink, but I'm greatly opposed to the loss of a living shield against that delightsome paragon of pure fugly nightmare!" Verde yells up to Hoodwink as the stallion takes to the roof to do something with a collection of vials. A collection of vials...? Verde's brow furrowed as the gears of her mind cranked out a series of assumptions, a chain of logic, and a rather distressing conclusion. "...he's about to either feed those vials to that thing or throw them in its face, isn't he?" she inquires of Heartstring in voice of very obviously forced calm. She doesn't wait for an answer and sighs, bowing her head and starting to force magic through her horn, sweating and panting from the exertion of calling upon reserves that are already fraying from overuse. However taxing it is, however, light begins to flow from the horn and stitches what appears to be a delicate net of magical force intended to catch and slow the fall of Hoodwink when he (inevitably, she tells herself) either falls or gets knocked off. That he might get snatched and thrown or eaten is a result she refuses to let herself consider.

Hoodwink saw the worm charging in Verde's direction and scowled, rolling his eyes in visible frustration as his plan, as always, went completely up the spout. "One of these days my plans will work." He grumbled to himself as he noticed Verde's focus forming the magical netting around the building, which would at least lower the chance of him getting thrown and smashed into itty bitty stallion bits.

He fumbled and nearly fell off the building when the creature charged and shook the ground, charging in Verde's direction. "Oh.... better side of me I hate you right now..." He complained as he jumped toward Verde off the building, right into the magical netting.

He rolled out of it quickly and tackled Heartstring and Verde into an alley way, desperately pressing them forward to start putting distance between the and the worm. "That thing's charging straight and it seems to pick a direction and go; I figure our best bet is to keep going in different directions, change course constantly, until we can lure it somewhere where either I can use this," he held up the vial cluster, "or someone can come up with a better plan."

Heartstring

Heartstring shifted his view over to that of Verde hearing what she was inquiring about and he looked back up towards Hoodwink seeing the vial's as well and a similar thought fell into his mind, but he couldn't say for sure what it was that Hoodwink was going to do. Though it was rather obvious whatever he did plan to do involved hitting the beast in someway, shape or form with those vials. He looked back toward's Verde seeing that she was straining herself to perform magic and Heartstring frowned at this. He didn't like the idea of someone getting tired, not in a situation like this, but with what she had been doing so far it was rather understandable given what she had been dishing out within such a short amount of time.

The beast had begun to charge directly in their direction and Heartstring clenched his jaw shut in anticipation waiting to see what Hoodwink can do and feeling the cold sensation in his feet as his brain was yelling at him to run, run as far and as fast as his feet could take him. It was a bit of a disappointment that Hoodwink didn't actually do anything and decided to abandon ship, but maybe it was indeed for the best. Sometime must have happened that told Hoodwink that whatever he was going to do, wasn't going to work with the beast charging in like that, of course that was only Heartstring's mental assumption.

Being tackled into the nearby alleyway and desperately pushed to run, he would proceed to do as such. "With that in mind, I'm going to need both of your help with what I have in store." Heartstring would chime in after Hoodwink asked if someone can come up with a better plan. While he was running, his facial markings along with his eyes and horn began to glow a sky blue and very quickly the light would combine together and travel up his horn as it would rest on the tip like a glowing dot. "But first." He would tap his horn to Verde's horn and the light orb would attach to Verde's horn and disappear inside. What Verde would feel would be her magical reserves filling up again and her fatigue disappear, of course, Heartstring would feel quite the opposite as he felt rather tired not from giving Verde a part of his magic to help restore hers. He kept enough magic for himself though to do what he needed to do. "I'm going to need both of you to stall for time and lure the beast back to the destroyed warehouse. I would explain in full, but we don't have time for detail's." He hoped they would cooperate and help him out on this plan. "I will need at least five minutes, but if you can give me anymore than that, it's going to be very helpful."

Crystal Empire Army

"This is Alpha, Tango unit 1, target is within visual range. Charlie, Bravo what's your status?" Said a pegasi donned in what looks to be a Wonderbolt's outfit, outfitted to the designs of the Crystal empire, with it's main body being a sleek cool blue, with white stripes that lined around the torso meeting at it's center where an insignia of the Crystal Heart would be. All the pegasi has the same outfits, the only real difference between them was the color of their helmets.

"This is Charlie, Bravo, unit 2, woah nelly, I'm coming up on your three, but I got a visual on the target and it is uuuggggllly!" said a pegasi with a purple helmet with a 'C' embedded onto it. A second pegasi with a blue helmet with an insignia 'B' on it would speak, they were talking through microphones built into their helmets. "How in the world did something that big get in here without us noticing?"

The pegasi from earlier, donning a green helmet with an 'A' embedded onto it would respond. "No idea, but we're bringing it down. we just need to get into position and drop the runes and then we can get this party rockin." A pegasi flew near by, donning a yellow helmet with a 'T' embedded into it. "Units 3 and Unit 4, report in."

More voices would come in through the helmets, coming in from the other two unit's pegasi. "Delta, Foxtrot, Unit 4 reporting in. We're coming in high on your nine."

"Unit 3, Romeo and Juliet, coming from above on your six."

A confidence smirk grew on Alpha's face. "Rockin! Ladies and Gentlcolts, Once we all get into position drop runes and let's get this party started."

Soon after that each unit soared even faster to the scene, estimated time of arrival two minutes.

Dark Crystal Death Worm Boss

The beast would come charging in, though he wasn't as fast as it was before, it would appear that there was indeed some kind of effect putting the building's between the beast and the trio was having. Of course exactly what that was is unknown, but the important part is that it did slow down. the truth behind it all though was that the beast, since it's vision is gone, was forced to slow down and charge in straight lines because it couldn't turn on a dime and it knew that if it did try to turn in mid charge, it couldn't handle it's own weight when trying to turn and just barrel out.

So it would charge in, this time partial breaking the buildings it charged over, while the speed was much slower than before, it was still pretty quick. When it would come in close instead of just ramming it's head into the ground trying to eat where Verde and Heartstring were, it would lift one of it's hands high into the air and slam it down trying to crush them. Of course it would miss if Verde, Heartstring and Hoodwink kept moving.

Verde blinks and looks askance at Heart when he primes her magical reserves with his own, fully aware of how much the generous action would have cost him. "I'm glad to help but... what do you hope to do when you're already crippling yourself by transferring your reserves?" She takes a brief moment to look at him, her eyes genuinely concerned for him, before she seizes his face between her hooves and kisses him on the forehead. "Heh... never mind what you will do, Heartstring. You're the absolute best kind of crazy for what you did just now, and crazy is always good when you're in a bad place and about to get bucked crosseyed by circumstances."

The unicorn parts from Heart with quick pecks to both of his cheeks before she starts off down the alley again, looking at Hoodwink as she uses her magic to insistantly pull him along after her. "Let's go, sneak thief. Got any tricks in your bags that'll make this this mad, stupid, and doing exactly what Heartstring--and by extension we--want it to do? Because I aim to give him as much time as he wants to carry out whatever clever notion is bouncing around inside that exoticly-painted head." As she's talking and oddly not seeming to lose much breath for it, she takes a sharp right at the end of the alley, shifting their direction towards the warehouse already--only to take a sharp left at the next opportunity, seeming intent on continuing her practice of making the monster beat itself upon buildings as it tried to catch and kill them.

"Right then..." Hoodwink nodded to Heart, his mind calculating in his head as he ran, trying to picture the warehouse where they had been and the surrounding area. "Verde. There's an alleyway right next to the warehouse that had big iron gates on either end, back door for businesses and such; if we can lure the worm into there, close the gates and then use this," Hoodwink rattled the bundle of vials, "on the work then we'll have a better chance of holding it for as much as possible. Heart, how long do you need for this plan of yours?" The thief asked as he wallkicked off a partially smashed wall to avoid running flat out into it from not looking where he was going.

The stallion cursed loudly when his dark blue cape briefly became snared on a jagged piece of rubble, forcing him to lag behind the other two by a few paces. Luckily for him he was able to get his cape free, because he would no sooner have abandoned it than his hat. In the process though he dropped a vial, which smashed; the blue liquid inside quickly solidifed into some kind of thick sludge, which spread to cover as much of the floor around it as possible before solidifying into a substance that looked like cement.

Heartstring
Heartstring looked at verde and kept a serious, though tired, look on his face. He knew he was putting himself in a bad position by doing this, and Verde, a unicorn as well, would obviously know that as well. But he had an idea and he needed to be confident in it, right now of all moments there was no room for doubts. He needed to do it and if in the end it doesn't work out, well he'd have to face the consequences of his rash actions. Of course his serious look had quickly been defeated by Verde suddenly holding his face and giving him kisses upon his cheek and forehead. The blue mark's on his face had actually tinged red and he shifted his gaze of to the side in a shy manner.

Heartstring looked towards Hoodwink who had lagged behind some and when he asked about how much time he wanted, he would answer. "At least five minutes, more if possible." Heartstring hadn't noticed the dropped vial nor it's effect's as he wasn't looking in that direction. Plus his focus was on getting to the destroyed warehouse now. It wasn't too long before that when Verde and Hoodwink ran off. Heartstring watched them go for just a moment. "Best of luck.." he sadly whispered as he shook his head and the serious look returned to his face and he took off running. Ignoring the fact that his body was weakened, due to him giving Verde a large portion of his reserves. This was no time to complain about his actions. He had to push forward and pull through. Shooting through the alleyway and maneuvering his way through different turns heading for the Destroyed warehouse.

Crystal Empire Army

The four unit's soared through the air and as they were flying they were capable of getting a better view of the situation. They easily had noticed that the Monster looked to have been chasing something and when they had arrived at the optimal height necessary to see, they were able to just barely catch onto three ponies that were running. It was primarily thanks to the ridiculously bright coat of Heartstring that they were able to catch onto them whenever they moved under the few light sources that were in the area.

"This is Unit 2, Bravo speaking. I spotted civilian's in the vicinity. It look's to appear that the beast is chasing after them. They seem to be up to something..." Bravo watched them carefully seeing where they went and what they did and eventually spotted them splitting off. "They just split, two are heading due North-east, while one is heading North, north-east."

"This is unit 1, Alpha speaking. Keep an eye on them, once we drop our load, I want you two to find them and get them outta here."

"Roger that, Alpha." responded Bravo. Each unit's would arrive to the location they needed to be at. each unit stopping in one particular area, which if this were connect the dots, they would shape out one very large rectangle. this would contain the monstrous worm within that rectangle. they would land on top of the buildings.

"Unit one in position."
"Unit two in position."
"Unit three in position."
"Unit four in position."

Alpha would then speak. "alright everyone, let's get this party started."

Each of their helmet's would open up a small compartment and a small rectangular object would slide out from it, in which the ponies grabbed and placed onto the ground. Like Magnets they pieces would connect together and then connect with the ground they touched and slide apart as runic symbols began to appear. Soon after it opened up enough space for four ponies to stand in, four ponies had materialized on the spot. Three uniformed Unicorns that stood side by side muttering to themselves as their horns glowed and one larger earth pony that stood behind them.

Dark Crystal Death Worm Boss

When it slammed its hand into the ground it actually turned it's wrist's left and right as if it were trying to grind whatever he smashed ever further. He pulled his hand back and brought it up to where his nose was located and loud sniffing could be heard, and then an unpleasant growl followed soon after. It seems to have caught wind that it didn't hit it's mark. It sniffed around again until it caught wind of Verde's scent and turned in that direction and moved in that direction. It hadn't moved yet as if it were trying to make sure it was getting the right scent. It growled as it reached around himself and broke off a lamp post that was within reached and tried to throw it in the direction where he smelled Verde. Thankfully the building's provided protection and the lamp post would just crash into the side of the building and bury itself inside the building rather than jump bouncing against it's walls and landing in the alleyways.

Verde takes little notice of the dropped vial, instead keeping ahead of Hoodwink and zig-zagging rapidly through the various side streets, alley ways, and even a brief stint on a primary thoroughfare. Sometimes her direction was to the warehouse but other times, she ends up going away from it. Overall, however, the general trend is to lead the monster towards Heart and whatever he's doing. Hope that piece of firm and fabulous flank has one helluva trump card to play because it seems like this thing doesn't mind beating itself up trying to catch and kill us, she thinks as she goes. Because the monster is very tall, she mainly keeps her eyes upwards to check where it is from moment to moment and so, she spots the military scouts above them and watching them. "Hey sneak-thief... don't look now... but I think we're about to get some help from... the official forces..." she pants as she keeps running. "Bet it's... the first time you were... happy to see... the law on your plot..."

"Still not so happy to see them..." Hoodwink complained as he moved; he was not out of breath like Verde but that was only because he had paced himself well and trained his body, he couldn't keep this up forever. "But I won't object if they put a few holes in that thing before I have to get within twenty feet of it again." He admitted as he bounced off the walls, swung off hanging shop signs, doing all sorts of frantic, acrobatic and ultimately pointless maneuvers as he kept pace with Verde; as impressive as his energy and stamina was, he was wasteful with it.

"You really reckon the storyteller's trump card is gonna be able to pull this off?" He asked as he looked at the path of destruction the worm had already laid out. "Because at this point I'm thinking Celestia and an orbital strike wouldn't be overkill." He admitted.

Heartstring

Heartstring had arrived at the destroyed warehouse. He was panting heavily as he felt his legs tremble. He shook his head and gritted his teeth taking a big breath. "This is going to be a terrible decision." he muttered to himself as his horn and his markings began to glow as he did so, his magic spreaded into the warehouse and it began to pick up rubble and stack them up against each other into a makeshift pillar. The way he went about this was dragging the larger chunks to an area that was in the opening that could see the sky clearly and then he would lift it onto it's long side and support it on it's other sides so it wouldn't fall over and he would continue this process until he made a crude tower that was about twenty feet higher than the warehouse itself.

Crystal Empire Army

When the three uniformed Unicorn's and the one earth pony had shown up for each position. The central unicorns would step forward and then sat upon the ground and began to mutter under their breath. All four in unison closing their eyes and then opening them again and their eyes glowing white and their horns lighting up.

From the four corners a thin beam of light would shoot straight up and then light would split from the beams in two directions to connect to the other light beams that were on either side of them forming a massive square. From there magical walled constructs would form and shoot down, bypassing all the crystals as if it weren't there. and the wall also stretched up as well as far as the eye can see, but it didn't close the top. What the unicorn's has done was created a containment field, based on the same shield spell that Shining Armor has. This would keep malicious creatures inside and keeping the damage contained.

Unit 2's pegasi, Charlie and Bravo, would take off into the skies. "We're on our way to find the civilians, keep that monster off our tails."

Alpha would respond. "Roger that Unit 2, be careful out there. Alright everyone, Buffer up and let's get moving."

The other two unicorns would mutter spells under their breath and cast buffing spells onto the pegasi. Each one had a speed enhancing buff and a defense enhancing buff placed on them.

Dark Crystal Death Worm Boss

It's sniffing could be heard from a distance as it smelled in different direction. Searching for the strongest point of Verde's scent. Once it found it again it would begin to move in that direction, running building's over and crushing anything that landed underneath it's hands. It would try again to hit Verde, but with it's vision currently out of commision it's accuracy was severely low and this time when he threw a chunk of building it landed 100 feet to the east of Verde and Hoodwink's location.

At this same time, Hoodwink would feel that the crystal that was apart of him rose up higher on his leg and was partially onto his chest at this point, but at the same time, in that particular leg, he would feel a new sensation as if he has an unknown amount of strength within it. Tiny little whispers entering into his mind saying things like 'kill it', 'survive', and 'we don't want to go back' Of course only Hoodwink could hear this given that the crystal was attached to him.

OOC: Hoodwink temporarily gains, "Dark Crystal Death Worm strength" with that strength he can hit with the same strength the beast can hit with, but it's only found in that one leg.

"Gotta admit... would not mind at all... seeing Celestia show up and send a Sunbeam of Death at that... ugly git thing chasing us around..." Verde says to Hoodwink, trying to simultaneously keep an eye on the oncoming death worm, the road ahead of her, and whatever the hay the city guard are up to. She sees as well as feels the surge of magical might and watches the beams of light shoot up and connect, creating a barrier that would probably contain the monster nicely--as well as any of the monster's intended taste treats. "Oy. There's guards for you. Never think that... deeply about what they're doing..." she comments, actually veering slightly towards the block of rubble that the thing had thrown. "Can't imagine... why Aunt Scarlet... wants to join..."

"I wouldn't mind too much either, though my reasons might not be entirely virtuous there I'll admit." Hoodwink added with a somewhat lecherous grin which he quickly pushed away for a more serious expression. "Focus Tea lad, time for that later." He muttered to himself, just barley audible over the carnage going on.

"GAH!" Hoodwink jumped and broke his pace when he felt the crystal moving again, and especially when he heard the voices. "What in the name of Nightmare Moon's wet dreams is wrong with this thing?!" The thief dropped all pretenses of his suave attitude and violently smashed the crystal against a wall to try and get it off.

The stallion's face when the wall was reduced to rubble was something out of a comedy masterpiece.

"Hu buh whu, huh?" The poor stallion mumbled looking utterly buffled before he hit himself across the face, making sure not to use the crystal encased leg. "Survive now, worry about super strength leg later." He mumbled to himself before running to catch up with Verde.

Hoodwink caught up with Verde and followed her gaze to the pillars of light; the Earth Pony had no purposeful magic of his own but even he could tell a powerful spell when he saw one. "Remind me to buy that storyteller a drink if we survive this... and to tell him to edit out the parts of me freaking out." The stallion mumbled, more to himself, as he prepared to improvised bomb on his back again, looking for an ideal place to position himself.

"Even if this thing doesn't stop the beast it ought to soften it up a bit for the guard." He mused to Verde. "You know, before tonight I would've said I'd be the first to abandon the empire to get eaten. I kinda think I might have been better off staying that way." Despite his words the thief was grinning.

Heartstring

Heartstring had become aware of the presence of the Crystal Empire guard's when they had made the barrier. He was momentarily catching his breath, his coat now a shade darker from the sweat. He looked up to the sky at his tower, trying to estimate just how much he had left to go. It was at the height he needed. He looked to his left and then to his right seeing if there were stairs that led up close to his tower so he could teleport to it's tip, which was a small platform large enough for him to stand on. He spotted a still intact staircase that led up to the second floor of the partially destroyed warehouse. He would proceed to up the stairs and move carefully along the second floor moving as close as he could to the tower that he had made.

Crystal Empire Army

With the Pegasi guard's buffed they take off into the skies and fly in formation towards the beast. Unit 2 had already headed in the direction of Verde and Hoodwink, while the rest headed in the direction of the beast. The pegasi that were heading to the beasts were buffed with extra speed, so they covered a lot more ground much quicker, so they would quickly arrive around the beast. Surrounding it in a circle.

Alpha would speak to the other units. "Let's grab it's attention!" They would start flying around the beast, a couple of the pegasi would swoop down and quickly pick up random debris and throw it at the face of the beast to grab it's attention.

Charlie and Bravo would fly as fast as their wings would take them, though with Verde and Hoodwink constantly on the move swerving through buildings for cover, trying to quickly get a fix on them was a little bit difficult.

Dark Crystal Death Worm Boss

The beast had not seen the pegasi that surrounded it and it grabbed another chunk of a building near it and tried to hit Verde and Hoodwink with it, but it had missed again. Not long after that it had begun to feel things hitting it's head, at first it was small things and eventually the objects got slightly bigger and bigger.

The beast would sniff the air once again and catch wind of the multiple pegasi that were flying around it. It would swing it's massive hands around trying to swat the pegasi out of the sky, but the pegasi were a bit too quick and agile to hit directly with it's hands.

"As much as I appreciate the effort, I think that kind of maintained offense is just going to cause more dest- YIKES!" Hoodwink yelled, interrupting his own thought as the piece of rubble was thrown at them by the worm, his attempt to dodge it only putting him even closer to the impact zone; it was pure luck that kept the Trottingham stallion from being squashed flat.

"Okay, I'm starting to get really, really, really sick of this thing!" The thief yelled, though his declaration sounded more like a whine than anything. "Heartstring, whatever you're doing hurry up!" He yelled as if the storyteller would hear him even though the distance was probably too much for that.

"I think... you're not the only one," Verde comments in between huffs and puffs as she keeps going. "Looks like... the authorities have... decided to give its projectiles back... with a little Equish on them..." She grins at Hoodwink. "Not that you... need the fine establishment... watching your plot. You've got the luck... of the wicked for sure, Mister Hoodwink. Can't... imagine... how else you dodge a piece of... building by running straight at it..." Shaking her head, she continues to head hard for where Heartstring has set up, her eyes and head flitting backwards every so often to check the position of their pursuer and the progress of the distraction the guard is utilizing against it. When her head is forward, she continually alters her course towards buildings and then for no apparent reason, away from them again, always pointed at the direction of the warehouse where a certain colorful stallion is hard at work. And hopefully has a great plan for saving our plots.

Heartstring

Heartstring made the jump to the top of the tower he had created. He caught his balance and then stood facing the empty space that was in front of the warehouse, where hopefully, Verde and Hoodwink would lead the beast too. At this point he began to collect whatever magical energy he had within himself and he began to chant in an unknown language. As he did so, his facial markings began to glow, dimly as first, but overtime it would glow brighter, but also the other thing that would come to notice would be the clouds, as they began to darken and gather over the area where Heartstring was located at.

Crystal Empire Army

It wouldn't be all to long before Charlie and Bravo would catch up to the two ponies they were trying to 'rescue'. Flying just above them, they would keep pace with the running ponies. "We're here to get you outta here!" shouted Charlie to them.

Dark Crystal Death Worm Boss

By this point the beast's eyes had recovered and the black gunk that covered it's eyes would crack and pop off and reveal a new fresh set of eyes. It saw the flying guard's that would continue to irritate the beast as they had been doing before. The beast had swung it's hands and tried to smack the guard's out the way, but only managed to strike out two of them sending them flying across the sky, thankfully they had been buffed, so the damage was greatly reduced, but it still hurt them quite a bit.

"It's the establishment watching me that got me into this sodding mess." Hoodwink grumbled to Verde cryptically as he made for the location Heartstring had showed them, occasionally lagging on a corner or spending a second longer than he would need to to decide what way he would go; none of it was how the stallion normally moved, his usyal dancer like grace replaced with a more cautious pace to allow the creature to keep him within eyesight.

"Uhhhh..." Was Hoodwink's only initial response when he turned a corner and saw Heartstring's display of power, or yhe beginning of it he assumed given what he knew about magic and it's tendency for charge times. "I swear I've seen that on an old film reel..." He mumbled before he noticed the clouds gathering above. "Anyone else getting a 'about to defy the natural laws of the world' vibe here?" The stallion asked, looking rather apprehensive.
