PostSubject: Songs Can Sing   Thu Mar 03, 2016 10:41 am

It had been a good night for the pegasus until it wasn’t. She'd just done with a concert her and a few other acts. That had all gone well, but she went to a party afterwards. The party was an environment a pony like like the pegasus could thrive. There were few ponies capable of partying until 5am so many days in a row, even after ‘working’. She used to go to clubs, and there was a similar atmosphere, but she liked the private stuff better. The whole thing had more soul, the music resonated with her better, and though she wasn't looking for anything at the moment, the stallions were better looking. Some ponies were playing a game that involved contorting themselves in ways it was inevitable they would fall down. It looked fun, but it wasn't something Arioso wanted to get involved in. Not like she'd have the time anyway. She couldn't catch a break anyway with the amount of ponies that came up to her, wanting to talk to her. Regular pony on the street would have had no clue who she was, but here, she was the shit and loved it.

She eventually excused herself from the group she was talking to, since the conversation was taking a boring turn towards musical history and she needed a drink anyway. The room was really warm when anypony took time to notice. The drinks at the bar are all overpriced compared to buying it from a store, but she was paying for the atmosphere...even though she’d already payed the greatest share for the stadium she’d performed in and one more thing...

A stallion had approached and so followed the regular deal when a suit walked up to her. They complimented her, she replied that she already know. They stated how valuable they might be, she stated that she already knew. They said who they represented, she answered it didn’t matter they were all the same anyway. Arioso eventually proved difficult enough that they gave up...for now.

It had become a predictable event over the past few months. She didn't fear for her life, but didn't feel comfortable sleeping either. The remedy came in the form of a guard. There were ex fire service and police force members to choose from, but their overwatch of her wouldn’t exactly be subtle. She wanted them to think she was _always_ under guard, regardless of appearances. That didn’t stop the pony from being...eccentric in a way. Arioso had no doubts at all that the thestral mare knew how to hide a body. That was comforting in its own way.

Arioso had never had to fight before, she'd come close, but never to the actually stage of blows being exchanged. She sized up her situation. They were all stallions, which wasn't too out of character for the soulless industry types. There were half a dozen of them, sort of quasi-military looking, maybe a little less organized, in a shrinking semi-circle around her. There was only one pony in front. The choice was easy. Arioso snorted, showing her displeasure with the ponies. It didn't have the effect she thought it would on the ponies, but the feeling helped her as she propelled herself forward into the stallion. Her lowered head hit the ponies shoulder. It sent a shock through her, enough to make her want to curl up, but she didn't slow more than physics forced her to. The pony recoiled, not expecting such ferocity. Arioso had a goal though. The pony that was meant to be guard her was across the room. She hoped they hadn’t been enjoying the party too much.

---

Across the street from the hotel a stallion was climbing a set of stairs on the outside of the building opposite. They led to some apartments or something, but he wasn’t interested in that. He just wanted the vantage point.  There was a little wind, but the concrete in strips gave some protection from it, as well as concealing him. With the aid of some of the darkness he'd be pretty hidden. He wished he had a cigarette or something, not like he needed to make himself even shorter of breath, he just wanted to more inconspicuous. He couldn't see what was happening inside the lobby, nevermind the room where the mare he was after was, but he didn't fancy pushing his way through all of the crowds.

“I’m afraid there aren’t many places you can blend in at this part of the city...” The stallion was clearly short of breath, something the statue didn’t need to worry about. “I know it's strange some of what I’ve asked of you, but I’m sure it’ll help me find my sister. Just because a few years have passed doesn’t mean the case is closed, right..?” There was a whine in his voice that made him seem desperate for validation. He looked back to the statue and his eyes matched with his voice. He was sincere in his hope and didn’t hide it.

---

The directive had been quite clear to the valkyrie. That unless she wished for tartarus to spill out into Equestria, She should do some work. The exact chance of something bad happening were yet to be calculated, and she was called upon to be the one to do the calculating. The situation could blow up rapidly or never reach the start. Though the mission was subtle observation, there was a generous allowance of discretion to remove any of what might be destabilising factors as long as she was subtle. Subtle meaning a spear point to the mare in all likelihood.

The mare was used to not sleeping, indeed she tested herself on occassion just to see how long she could last before exhaustion claimed her. She was enjoying herself, sipping champagne as she rested against the back wall. Her eyes darted around the room as she relaxed, the nights having been calm and quiet, especially given what she was used to. With a sigh, and a slowly growing smirk, she pushed herself off the wall as Arioso charged the first stallion. The champange flute shattered in her hand, and she began to cross the room, enjoying each of the subtle movements of the tight, little black number that clung to her curves.

Anyone watching the thestral, with each little sway of her hips, and the gentle bounce of her ample breasts, it was clear that she knew she was sexy. She approached the group of stallions with a sensual stride and an excited smirk. Grabbing Arioso, she pulled her into a tight kiss before gently escorting her behind her. "Now then gentlestallions. If you have a query, or a perhaps even a problem, I'm afraid that I will have to take you up on it," she whispered, leaning forward, her left leg lifting up as she showed off her rack.

---

Aurora studied the order one last time, before sighing and stepping forward so that she could be sent down to Equestria. "So the higher ups are sending me down... to deal with a possible hell-on-earth... by myself. Excellent," she grunted as a lightning bolt burned into her body, before she slammed into the ground with a thunderclap.

Rising up slowly, Aurora looked around the skyline of Vanhoover, slowly rising up to her feet. Her hand drifted to the spear that rested on her back before yawning and stepping forward.

((Ivory tower.))

As time went on, things changed throughout Equestria. One such change would even come to affect a most unusual companion of the troubled stallion, whose plight to find his sister struck a chord with the ancient large golem by his side covered from head to hooves in an excellently meticulous arrangement of leaves of varying hues shaped like a cloak around her. For the most part, she kept quiet while watching down upon the apparent target destination, and still as a statue would be while pretending to be like an equine under the hood of leaves while down on all four unseen limbs. That is, until the stallion looked to her; Then she moved as if she had always been breathing, a gorgeous face of marble looking at him with a light reassuring smile from under the hood. She nodded in agreement, and then as she looked back towards their apparent destination, some of the leaves around her began to float in a bundle before the stallion, forming words. 'Are you ready to lead the way, or do we keep scouting?'

Arioso didn’t resist being pulled closer, but was shocked when she was pulled into a kiss.
Her head did hurt a little, though she was sure the kiss wasn't to make that better. She huffed and turned her head away when she was free. She was meant to be guarding, not having fun, and especially not both.

The lead stallion nursed the area that had been hurt. He was far more concerned about the injury and his pride more than the pony that had pushed herself between him and Arioso. His friends had gathered behind him, but they were far more distracted by the charms that the mare was sending out. Some of them leaned forward a little themselves as Platinum did so. The pony in lead leaned back, making sure to push the ponies behind him back.  “We weren't finished with our conversation, you can see how rude she's been, running away like that. Luckily, we don’t let small things like an assault get in the way of business. We were just going to go somewhere more private and have a nice conversation about why it would be a good idea for us to make an arrangement. The only one being a problem is you.” The stallion already had a hand clenched tight while the other nursed his shoulder.

The stallion that had been originally approached the pegasus walked over from the other side of the room. It was far easier than the gauntlet the pegasus had been made to take. The crowd had dispersed and they now had plenty of room. The suited stallion was even more direct. “We’re not here to steal your mare, so just get out of the way and let my guys do their thing. What’s it worth to you?”

Not like there was much spare to hold onto, Arioso pulled at Platinum’s dress slightly. “I’m not for sale. I think it’s time we left and got some sleep.”

--

The stallion shook his head with a few mutterings of the word no. “Just a few more minutes…” His breaths changed from stable to shakey and the back again. He sounded like he was trying to work himself up. “I just don't know what I'm going to say…” He peered back through the vantage that he had. The silence was sometimes comforting, but it made him feel like he was talking to himself. He closed his eyes and nodded, his mouth moving quickly and silently. It helped him to think straight. “I can't just burst in there with you around, can I? That'd look weird...Not like I’m saying-” The stallion was saved by and yet cursed the sudden crash of thunder. He flinched as he heard sounds like a storm. They weren't due for anything like that! “Stupid kids,” he concluded. “Don't change, do they?” He was uncertain, hence all of the questioning. “There’s only one door they can come out of, and this person really deserves to know. They could be in danger for it.”

---

From her entrance alone Aurora had attracted attention. A powerful light covered her before she could fully take a step, throwing blinding amounts of light at the mare. The lights were meant for searching away from the city rather than towards it, watching the river and it surroundings for danger. Until she could be verified as a pony and not some monster, the light was not going to move. It would easily be able to track her movement among the roofs.

The living statue self-identified as Meglia studied the stallion briefly in his hesitation, and while she was one to prefer a lack of it, she understood him well enough. Once more, a formation of leaves shared her thoughts with him. 'We can keep scouting... Until circumstances are more favorable... But we should at least move closer... Or risk losing track of them...'

Soon after, the leaves returned to the cloak in an orderly fashion, but her body as a whole shook lightly when Aurora would come down in her own special ride elsewhere. Despite the distance between them, Meglia could certainly feel it. Unknown to the stallion, her own thoughts increased. "... Not a mortal... What is an envoy from beyond doing here? They best not be coming for me. I am not ready to leave just yet..."

Unfortunately for Arioso, the one thing that Platinum enjoyed beyond anything else was having fun, and she did not care where that fun came from. She pulled something from the heel of her shoe, grinning and flicking out a knife, the blades shining softly. "Rude? Really? Oh well then, she better apologise. But uh... first... how about you guys apologise for intimidating my charge to the point she has to charge through you, in a very unladylike manner I might add." Platinum giggled and shifted her stance, making sure her rack was still on display. "Oh really? See for some reason I just don't believe you," she smirked and shook her head. "And I'm not one for taking bribes... or conflicting job orders for that matter. So here's what's gonna happen sweetheart. You're gonna turn around, walk out of this place and never talk or threaten us again, or, if you want to dance, we can dance. I promise you this though: I won't be the one bleeding out on the floor by the end of it."

---

Aurora blinked as the bright light was shone in her direction, sighing as it clung to her body like glue. "Alright, alright... you realise shining a light on me isn't gonna reveal much, right?" she asked rhetorically, before moving towards the light, flapping her wings and launching into the sky so she could deal with whatever situation had actually demanded her attention.

Arioso huffed again at being ignored, but at least Platinum seemed to be handling the situation. She didn’t seem to have any concerns about who’s night/morning she was about to ruin. “They’re not going to go away until you make them,” the mare chimed with a little fatigue.

Platinum undermined her own message with how distracting she was proving to the stallions. Her tone seemed to barely register that it was indeed a threat and not some kind of flirtation. The suited stallion was not shocked by the appearance of a weapon. He knew she hadn't been reaching for her leg for no reason. Teasing a group of grown stallions into submission was a silly notion “It must be hard to run the numbers for someone like you, I'm not sure that toothpick of yours is going to change much  You can't use that on us? Have you no respect for the laws which keep us civil?” The stallion seemed bored. He didn't believe any of what he said. The mare's body was honestly the only spot of entertainment there was to be had. “We were just ponies looking to network when one of us got stabbed. Who would that put in the wrong, hm? If your client disappears, so does your contract.” The stallion stepped backwards and the group parted for him. No way was he going to be the first to get hit when this mare started flailing wildly.

---

The stallion nodded. She was right. Of course she was. “It only get worse if we baby step, right? We should just-” It was hard to tell what the marble mare was thinking, but she seems slightly out of it. “You alright?  Do you have a faster way to get down? I’m still not sure which parts of you are decorative…” It was at least worth asking if she could put her wings to use. Magic and statues was a freaky topic to the stallion, he wondered if she was turned that way. He knew the type that used that sort of spell. The good who wished to show restraint, and the evil who wished to gloat. She didn't have much choice but to trust them. Help was help. As long as she/it could help him unveil the mystery.

---

The light grew bored of its ineffectiveness. It sweeped the roof where the mare no longer was before turning to looking back outward as it had before. Just a pony. Nothing too interesting.

Meglia would set aside thoughts on the unknown entity for now, as she had business with the stallion next to her already. She nodded, and moved over to the darkest and least populated alleyway they could spot next to the building while she urged him to follow. She then climbed over the edge as her leaves formed into a basket on her back, again urging for the stallion to get on... And should he get on eventually, she'd slide down the wall gently, as if gravity weren't an issue for her as her limbs held to the wall like sandy mold, reconstructing back to normal afterwards once they touched down...

Platinum placed the knife back in her heel and she giggled at the lead stallion. "Oh yes, of course... the laws. Unfortunately, there is no law against me defending myself from a group of big, bad stallions who tried to force my dear marefriend into doing something that she does not want to. And you are right, of course, that using a weapon on you is kind of pointless," she said, striding forward till she was almost touching him. "Now, are you going to be sensible, or are you going to be the dickless coward I know you are and try and hit me," she asked, smiling at him.

---

Aurora chuckled as the light moved on, before looking around for anything or anyone that could potentially provide her with some opening clues as to what was going on. Spotting a stallion and a statue on a nearby roof, she spun and began to descend towards them.

“I would have thought that it is very fortunate for you with how brave you're being in inviting an escalation of this altercation. If you just give me a moment to explain I'm sure we can get along.” The stallion moved a hand into an interior pocket. One of the group moved to stop Platinum from getting so close. He didn't address the point of him being cowardly. He wouldn't be the one to hurt her after all. “We’ll just take both of you little lovers then if you are so insistent.” He didn't move his hand from his inside pocket. He didn't need. He'd already mentioned the numbers. The mare They were after had proven vicious, but not as interested in fighting. This new mare was obnoxious, an obstruction, and clearly not a prude. “I don't think you are lovers though, are you? Feel free to prove me wrong. I'm not so heartless as to break up girls having fun together. We can always wait for another opportunity.” The suited stallion raised an eyebrow in curiosity. Another stallion of the group placed a hand around Platinum’s wrist, only lightly, but eager to tighten.

---

The stallion didn’t let the nerves get to him. Jumping into a leaf basket wasn’t all that crazy an idea compared to what he’d been piecing together. The shock as they stopped caused the stallion's stomach to move. He looked shocked and unwell for a moment but nothing came of it. There was nopony greeting them at the side of the building when they landed, which was nice. He looked up at the distance they had traveled. In the narrow view he had he saw something on a path towards them. He nudged the marble mare and looked up anxiously. “Can we go?” he asked.

Meglia aided the stallion down gently from the leaf basket when he was ready, but she herself fidgeted briefly in her usually delicate movements. Her face pointed towards the sky, she frowned ever so subtly before lightly nudging the stallion's shoulder so they could move along. She wanted to know if the newcomer had any intention of actually meeting with her or just happened to be moving their current direction, but she did not want to wait around to find out which was which as she already had another task to attend to.

"I too believe we can get along, though my version includes you leaving us alone for the rest of our lives," she shook her head and her grin faded. "I don't think you will be actually. Like I said, I think you'll be pissing off and leaving us alone."

Platinum glanced at the hand that grabbed her wrist and raised an eyebrow at the stallion. "Let go of me. Now," she said, giving him a full ten seconds before she snapped it like a twig.

---

Aurora yawned beneath her helm, before dropping onto the roof silently, and trotting towards the side that the pair was on.

The suited stallion shook his head and removed a syringe from his inside pocket, and needle next to it. It looked to hold a blood and saline mixture with likely something else inside of it. He pinched the cap off from the needle and began to affix it to the syringe. “Do you want to know something about syringes?” The stallion asked, he didn't really care what the mare said in response. “The liquid doesn't quite come out of the tip of the needle. Like I said, this is going to calm you down and make us friends.”

The pony didn’t let go, and consequences occurred from this. Some of the stallions cringed and flinched from the snap, feeling phantom pains that were similar but lesser. The suited stallion didn't seem phased. “Oh? I suppose I should be impressed, but there's a lot of small bones there, so even a dainty little thing like yourself could hurt that. He’ll be well compensated for his sacrifice. We will not be short of the money once we're done. All a reward for making things better.” Three more of the stallions approached Platinum, two of them grabbing a wrist each with a solid grasp while the third pony began to move behind her. This involved putting his back towards Arioso, which earned him a balance disturbing kick to the back of his leg. On his way down he  pulled at both Platinum and one of the other stallions.

---

“Did they land on the roof?” the stallion asked. “They just disappeared. Maybe we’re both paranoid. Getting this over with is for the best.” The statue still seemed content to walk and have the play catch up. That was good, he guessed? There probably wouldn't be much of the night left, and he did want to sleep all through the day. He began to cross the street, making the decision that he was just going to walk in and explain things to the best of his knowledge. .

"Dainty?" Platinum raised an eyebrow and shook her head. "Two bit thugs these days, no respect for professionals," she glanced at the stallions who had grabbed her from either side. The moment the stallion to her left was dragged off centre by the one approaching from behind, Platinum smirked. She shifted her body weight, before snapping the wrist of the stallion who had managed to stay upright.

Without pausing, she dragged the stallion on her left in front of her, driving her heel between his legs and pushing him towards the leader. "What's in the needle? I am genuinely curious," she said as she retried her knife, spinning it delicately between her fingers.

---

Aurora spread her wings as she leapt off the roof, front-flipping before stopping her descent feet from the ground. Dropping the last of the distance, she landed with a clank.

A lady should be calm and composed at all times, and Meglia remained as such even when Aurora landed and hopped behind them from where they came from. Since they had not been addressed yet, she kept her focus on the stallion while assuming they had no business with each other, lightly encouraging him to move on if that was what he truly desired. She could adapt well enough if a conflict ensued, but Aurora had greatly sparked the ancient golem's attention during the mission; Even the Valkyrie would find it hard to get the jump on her if her intentions were less than friendly...

The suited stallion sighed at being called a thug. “It'll be the best drug you've ever taken. Nothing harmful at all.” The stallion just pushed away the pony that came towards him back towards Platinum. The top of his head collided with her stomach with no real finesse. He used this time grabbed her wrist further down, pushing the hand holding the knife backwards. He stretched her arm out and pulled, wanting the use those heels she was fond of against her to trip her. The hand with the syringe hanging back and ready.

The last of the stallions got to work on trying to aid some of the ponies the reckless mare had injured. He said soft lullabies and happy songs while he worked to fix the breaks. He actually got one of them to overcome their pain.

--

The lack of advice on how to respond to the situation annoyed the stallion, but no communication probably meant no problem. He hoped as much at least. He moved a little closer to the marble mare as they made it across the street. He was slow to open the hotels door, looking at the pony behind them’s reflection. He didn't like what he saw. One of that pony looked like they could do nasty things to several of the stallion. She made a metallic noise behind them, and seemed very fond of the spear she was holding.  He finally opened the door and held it open for the marble mare whilst looking even more at the pony across the street.

"Surely not the best drug? I mean, I've made myself immune to most of them, so it probably won't be. When one is a troubleshooter for the Manehatten Mafia, one tends to make sure one cannot be taken down by a simple drug," Platinum explained as she kneed the stallion who had collided with her stomach in the face, before kicking him to one side. She hummed as he grabbed her wrist, his attempt to knock her off balance failing, before she reversed the dagger and drove it into his arm with a flick of her wrist.

---

Aurora sighed as the pair entered the lobby, looking both ways before crossing the street herself, glancing up at the high rise before opening the glass doors. She considered what she would open with as she approached, armoured boots clacking on the marble.

Meglia certainly did not like the way things were going in the hotel, but it seemed going in might be the wiser choice now that things were escalating. It was also more pressuring that Aurora kept stepping behind them on the marble floor they were also on; She dared to hope it wasn't a bad omen against her, and just symbolized a challenge in the near future.

As for the stallion next to her, she gave him one tip in case he needed some more guidance by pointing with a leaf covered wingtip towards whichever of the mobsters had their backs turned to him the most, and then quickly gesturing an attack from behind with a 'chop' movement; It'd certainly help the mares in trouble to have more allies sooner than later.

“Oh no, this isn't on the market. We have the monopoly. Once you try it you'll want to meet our supplier though.” The suited stallion gasped, but didn’t cry out. The knife struck a very thick part of his arm and didn’t manage to find a way in too deep. The arm buckled, weakening in strength. His other hand flicked the syringe around as the mare had done with the knife and decided to abandon going for a traditional spot. He jabbed the needle into the mare’s leg.

---

The stallion looked incredulously at the mare’s suggestion. He understood perfectly and it still seemed dumb. Yeah...she was welcome to do that. He could afford to watch. The mare who was fighting wasn't the one he was interested in...and the stallion was scary looking. “Think I’m just going to keep my distance like everypony else. We still have one behind us, and this doesn’t look like a costume party…”

Platinum grinned and once the knife was buried in his arm, the knife erupted, the blade expanding into eight separate pieces, each one shredding his arm. She reacted a second too slowly to dodge the syringe, grunting as it sank into her leg.

Before the drug had a chance to take effect, she flicked a second knife at another stallion who was still standing. She took a step back, glaring at him as she pulled the needle free of her flesh.

---

Meglia's fear of Aurora attacking them was belayed as she darted past the pair, her metallic wings slicing through the air. The stallion who had stabbed Platinum had no time to react before he had a rainbow headed spear impaled in his stomach.

Without slowing, Aurora spun and flipped over his head, landing between he and Platinum.

Meglia shook her head, at both her companion and the Valkyrie that just darted past them. She had hoped the detective would show a bit more backbone to show who he sided with, but she didn't blame him for wanting to play it safe in his line of work. So instead, she choose to follow up on the distraction provided, and pawed at the marvelous marble floor briefly before lightly stomping on it... and various feminine marble legs decorated with heels shot upwards from the ground up towards the groins of the mob stallions surrounding the mares; Except the one already impaled, he's suffering enough.

There were shrieks as the violence level escalated from interesting drama to the chance somepony might die.  Arioso was also rather happy to run at this point. The stallion grabbed her arm as she tried to run out of the door. She turned her head and pulled away, but stopped once she saw the stallion’s face. She opened her mouth to say something, but the stallion just responded with a “later” and moved themselves closer to the crowds in the room for safety, his arms wrapped around her reassuringly.

The suited began to cry from the pain. He hadn’t been expecting psycho blade bitch, never mind a friend with a spear. Somepony had definitely gotten to her first. That was what needed to survive more than him. He still had the syringe even though most of the needle had broken. He entrusted it to a bent over stallion, dropping it and letting it roll before he was teleported away by one of his friends using what was probably the last of their energy.

Meglia and her contribution cemented the remaining stallions lack of wish to fight. Only the stallion the syringe had been entrusted to moved. With a stumbling crawl they moved towards Aurora, grabbing one of her boots and...beginning  to kiss it? This proved to be a distraction as he prodded her leg armor with the half needle looking for a way under, mostly just spilling the liquid.

Aurora watched the stallion teleport away, before glancing at the stallion who was... kissing her boot? "What in equestria are you doing?" She asked as the needle bounced from her armour, never finding a weak point to exploit. She smacked him into unconsciousness with the end of her spear, before glancing at Platinum, lifting her helmet. "Are you all right?"

Platinum was sure the drug would have started to take effect. "Mmm... well, I'm not sure what the drug is... so I cannot say."

Since the fighting had mostly gone down for now, Meglia was perfectly content in the fact her Detective companion was safe along with the target of interest he was with, and not being under focus from Aurora. She began to casually patrol the area, seeking out more hostiles if there were still others around, while occasionally flaunting her leaf robes. It was a lovely setup, and she wasn't about to let something like a bleeding mobster take all the attention from the public; They'd probably appreciate the artistry more anyway while the proper staff came to deal with the victims.

The stallion returned, arm still wrapped around Arioso. He was a good deal older than her, though if their parents knew commitment they could have been related. She was hardly lost however...Or that hard to find with all the commotion caused so close by.

As they walked together, the stallion seemed to finally talk, “Hey you, Hi-”

“Don’t you even…” Was Arioso’s answer. She didn’t rest in his arms as much now, her attitude coming back. What he was going to say was for friends, he was no reason an acquaintance

“Fine. I guess you're wondering why I'm here. I have a…” He looked at the statute providing a distraction from all of the other mess business. “Friend with me, I'll explain when she's done.”

“I have a...friend too.” The mare sighed, the breath behind it seeming strong enough enough to carry a strong curse. She wasn't just annoyed, she was pissed. At least her invest into a guard proved effective, she had that going for her.  “We should go upstairs and talk. Then skip town before this all catches up to us.”

“Yeah,” he said reassuringly. “Yeah. I have a place to go.” The stallion hailed the statue over. Signalling it was time to wrap things up. The ponies, thankful for having a distraction would be sad to see her go.

Nothing happened to Platinum. It might have been due to the lack if the stallions presence or not getting a full dose. Or maybe she was as immune as she claimed. It probably was something far more than that though. A blood test to find out was probably not an option though.

“Oh, great, another strange pony,” Arioso glared at Aurora before running a hand back through her hair, swallowing her feelings once more. She looked away in disinterest. “Platinum don't let her join us.”

“I'll protect you this time,” the stallion was very persistent.

“You couldn't protect me from a light breeze.”

“Light was a misnomer for that pony. Besides, it all worked out fine when....” He paused and they both looked pained. “That's who I'm here to talk to you about. I have something. I really think I do!”
