Another Battle

The Tournament has started and the majority of the ponies fighting for Equestria were dead. No one was spare and no one was given a painless death. Their deaths became spectacles for the Outworld crowds that came to visit and simply a demonstration for their opposition. Yet, the Tournament was only midway through and the chance for an upset was now. Just one fight could disrupt and hurt the morale of the other fighters of Outworld.

So, in the massive and bare coliseum, stood a pony. He was not extremely tall like some of his fellow fighters, but was about 6 feet tall though the guess could be an inch or two off. He wore light armor that had the same design as the Greeks and the Equestrian Guard that had adopted the style of armor many years later. A circular sword shield covered up the right arm of the green unicorn as a sword was still in its sheath.

The alicorn sisters, who were prohibited in taking part in the tournament themselves, and the other fighters watched in a small booth above. The enemy booth was just across from the Equestrian's.

Across from him stood a pony of similar height, maybe an inch or two different in size. He was clad in light silver piecemeal armor, all his joints open for maximum mobility. He carried no weapons as far as anypony could see. One of the few Equestrians left now, he understood the odds against him, and why he'd been pressed into service by his former liege. Extending a hand to his opponent, he spoke. "Come, let us be done with this. I've many more of you to send to the afterlife before this tournament is over."

The stallion had to admit, he was a bit surprised by the pony. Yes, the fact he had came in without a weapon wasn't too surprising, but his armor seemed strange for someone that only used their body. He would have thought a martial artist would go for simple clothing in order to prevent being slowed down with any sort of armor. Yet, he complied with request. He drew his sword and approached. He was not dumb enough to simply charge and instead went with a slow advance, his horn lighting up as he approached the pegasus.

As the stallion began his approach, Sword exploded into action. Lines of mana flashed down his arms, two paired blades snapping into existence as he grasped them. Spinning in a fluid motion, he hurled them at his opponent before charging him, the blades drawing neat arc as they flew towards the neck of the opposing stallion before him.

"Spirit and Technique, Flawless and Firm."

The armored unicorn went on the defensive as he ducked under the two blades, letting the two blades hit one another. He angled his shield upwards to deal with him coming up and having a feeling that the pegasus would be on top of him soon. He now knew that the pegasus could create or summon swords to aid him, but what was his limit? The question was forced aside as he covered himself with his magic, most of it focused on the areas his armor didnt cover and a light layer around what it did cover. His shield held firm in front of him and hid his sword behind his shield.

"Abjuration magic. Sword noted as the stallion layered his defense with magic. Abandoning his initial offense, he shifted, projecting a mace with which he rained a heavy blow down on his enemy's shield, letting the projection go as he conjured another set of the swords he threw initially. One blade came under the shield, stabbing upwards, while the other one remained reserved for defense. Behind the stallion, the two initially thrown blades circled round and began careening back towards him, drawn to their opposite pair.

The sudden change to a mace caught him off guard, but his shield held though a few dents could be seen. The moment the mace was tossed aside, he made his move. He stepped forward and quickly moved his shield to the right, accidentally moving the tip of the newly projected sword in that direction as well. The blades coming at him was placed to the back of his mind as he thrusted his own blade forward , the magic barrier around his left forearm moved over his sword. With the quick addition in his attack, he focused the magic to the tip and forced it outwards. The strike would hit the right of the pegasus' chest if things went to plan. If he had succeed, Blade followed up with a side ways shield bash into the other side of his opponent's body in order to further get him off balance. He also didn't notice the blades coming towards him.

Sword stepped back in time with Blade, parrying the incoming stab with his other blade rather than trying to press his offense any more. "Perhaps a different kind of offense is required for this opponent... Rather, he'd wait a moment to see if the blades whirling in around his opponent would do any damage, and would let Blade initiate the next offense, rather than going to him.

Blade didn't push the attack, not wanting to let the pegasus to use his advance against him. The stood there for less than a second when the barrier around him faded. The speed of his movements were increased as he spun to intercept the blades that that had cut into his shield and leaving a scratch over the armored armband over his body. He quickly turned to face the pegasus, fully expecting him to take advantage of the brief opening of his exposed backside, the speed of the movements were still there allowing for enough for him to turn quickly in order to bring his shield around in order to block or redirect whatever attack was coming towards him.

If the attack never came, then he would simply would have brought himself around so quickly for nothing. He would also be glad for the fact that he had pushed the equestrian back enough to allow him to even hear the blades coming towards him in the first place.

As Blade spun to intercept the blades attacking from behind, Sword spoke, blue lines of mana flooding down his arms as he did so.

"Trace, on"

Dozens of swords of all varying sizes and makes formed behind him, before firing themselves at Blade. A very large blade, at least the size of the claymore then appeared in Sword's hand, him continuing his invocation.

"Trigger, off. I am the bone of my sword..."

The words would resonate visibly as reality briefly distorted around him. Blade would be able to feel magic feeling out targets on his body as the mana began to crackle and writhe on Sword's arm grasping the claymore.

Blade felt his speed fade as the swords started to come it at him. He focused magic into the palm of his shield arm and shot out a large orb out to the center of the blades. It would easily be cut and it would explode just as the stallion began to hide behind his shield once again, placing his palm onto it and focusing his magic to the underbelly of it. He hoped to simply direct the blades outward and possibly knock into the other blades, forcing them outwards instead of towards himself with the added protection on his shield in order to keep himself protected.
