Oathbound saw the two creatures land and he kept his grip firm on his axe. Another axe appeared, floating just above his head, to his right.
"You two, stay behind me." He said to the newcomer ponies as he spread his legs slightly and gripped the other axe with his right hand, taking up his combat stance. Waiting for the creatures to make their move.
"They look like they're like him... But different..."

The creatures would have to get past him if they were to get at the two strangers. And something told him that he'd have to make sure they don't. Regardless, he would throw his life down to protect the others if necessary.
He knew however that it would not come to that.

It was bad enough that the shadowy figure's face could not be seen despite the light Sugary used on him, but disappearing the way he did once again sent that odd chill throughout his body, only to be accentuated further somewhat by it's eerily close sounding voice, seeing the card on the ground with a blank looking mare-that he knew nothing about-, and watching as the shadow creatures emerged. "This feeling... He... It... Summoned monsters...!? Bad omen..."

Easily noticing that the others were taking up position for battle, it didn't take long at all for him to figure that the extra visitor and monsters were not nearly as welcome to them as he was.

While Oathbound admirably offered himself for protection, Young Sugary had fair training so far, even against some monsters. He slowly took careful step after careful step until he was on his right but somewhat behind him in in terms of rank and file, and spoke to him as he focused his energy as a red aura wrapped around the white one on his horn as a small flash of light replaced the shield for a sword with a golden hilt and a small mouse-like symbol on it as well. He now focused light onto and shine from the sword while pointing it with his left arm straight at the creatures, keeping to the basics of dealing with Dark monsters with Light, while the barrier he had was dissipated and the wand began to expel much heat, eventually causing some mild steam as the weaker rain fell on what was now a slowly increasing fireball overhead, showing he meant business as well despite the constantly uneasy feeling he had. "With all due respect, Warrior, I would prefer to provide support from the Back Row at least..."

As Fantasy had turned around to see this sequence of events, and was now threatened with some weird-looking shadow animals, her shoulders slumped and she groaned. "Seriously," she mumbled, her right arm tensing up as she readied herself to use her mace for the second time today. "I've been through enough shit today."

Fantasy did as she was told, and stood behind Oath, but held her mace like a baseball bat, over her right shoulder, ready to strike. Sugary's actions made her raise an eyebrow in awe- that was pretty cool -but her focus wasn't on that for too long; she quickly had her attention back on the shadow beasts, mace raised just at her head level, and behind her.

Rain Splash sees the threat, wanting to make himself not seem the weak link of the group he reaches to his hip, where a odd flask of water lays, he uncorks the cap not letting his eyes escape the enemies, the water begins running over his hand and freezing, turning his left hand into a giant ice sword, up to his elbow is covered in the strangely sparkling ice while the rest of his arm is covered in ice like armor, his other hand holds his sword firmly.

He mutters as he crouches slightly, "I'm not dying so soon."

Lightning didn't know what the figure meant by he thought they looked familiar though the pegasus was sure that he would have remembered someone like this. As the figure stepped into the portal of darkness he could only watched as it faded away. The urge to follow and see where the dark portal led to, but that meant going into the unknown. It probably end up with him dead.

The stallion didn't have much time to think of it as he noticed the two figures come out of the portal. Whatever they were they obviously hadn't come to talk. He pulled out his pistol and knife and positioned the two weapons in front of him. He held the pistol in his right and resting on top of his arm which held his knife.

A small heat started to resonate from somewhere and things became a little humid. After, a quick glance Lightning realized it was because of Sugary's mace that was now glowing. The small mist coming from the rain evaporating. While, he wasn't going to use his field now to see if he could move the small cloud he would keep it in mind.

He also realized something about where he was. He was apart of the first line and from the looks of things these creatures it would take more than a few bullets to bring them down. So, he slowly started to move a little to the right so that once the battle commence he wouldn't have to worry about accidently shooting anyone. As he looked at the creatures he is trigger finger had a strong itch to and was ready to fire when needed.

The two creatures moved in an odd fashion; they jittered and lurched forwards and backwards, then to each side, as if their limbs had a mind of their own and refused to cooperate.

The long antennae on their heads however, soon dropped; sinking in to the wet grass as if they had planted themselves in the ground like a flower. The grass and flowers around the contact points quickly withered and died, disappearing entirely until two, pitch black, seemingly endless portals lay on the ground like a flat mirror of the one swirling behind them which the cloaked figure had exited through.

The original portal widened and cleared at the center, less a swirling mass and more a window. They could see the hooded figure just for a moment before it entered through the doors of a most bizarre looking building:

But despite the strange building, they had more pressing matters. From the four dark spots on the ground generated by the two creatures now firmly stuck, more clawed hands identical to their own were reaching out like undead, clawing at the ground to try and pull themselves up.

Wild Card watched as everypony seemed to get into their own battle stance, whereas he was just standing there in the rain with an umbrella. "I kind of feel left out here, should we crouch a bit or something to make us seem more battle ready?" "No need, and Miss Tin, the card depicted Princess Twilight Sparkle," The stallion reached into his front pocket and took out the card he was referring to, and showing it to Verde, the cards circling him moving around his arm as he held it out.

"She doesn't look too fussed about it, and seems in a much better state of mind than Ace is in his. Though it is a clue and we should probably follow that... person, into that building." Once again, Wild put the card into his front pocket after giving enough time for Verde to look at it, and stared at the two original dark figures. Unfortunately for him, the other members of the group plus the newcomers, were in the way of direct attack. "So, we're actually doing something now? Awesome."

"Excuse me. I'll be going for the one on the left, just a heads up." He said politely, informing the others of his target and shortly after announcing this, five runic cards separated from the group of cards circling the pegasus and shot upwards, and then down towards the figure on the left. "I want answers for that card." Wild said, anger tainting his final word.

Oathbound could feel the heat behind him and glanced back to see the fireball forming at the end of Sugary's staff. Hopefully it isn't one of the explosive kinds - he wasn't sure if anypony was far enough to be out of the explosion radius. But for now, they had foes to fight.

"Ok then." He said simply, throwing both of his axes at the two black figures. They weren't close enough to be a threat yet, and they seemed to be focused on maintaining the black pools that seemed to summon more of their kind. So a ranged attack while he still had the chance was the best option.

Verde chanced a small glance at him, smirking a little. So he's got a gentleman, a wiseass, and someone called 'Ace' in his head, she chuckles and gives her head a little shake as she lights her horn, a quartet of large metal spikes floating out of their sheaths on her belt. This is going to be quite the adventure... shadowy figures, mysterious cards, monsters made of darkness, and my companions include a berserker, a gentleman with a committee in his head, and a dandy with serious magical chops based on that fireball he's pulling out.

The hovering spikes rotate in place slowly, lines of greenish magic flowing towards them, causing them to spin steadily faster, and faster, and in moments, they look like blurs of green instead of throwing spikes. "Then for balance, I think I shall target the one on the right," Verde tells Wild as the spinning projectiles shift slightly so their tips are pointed at her target. And with that, the spikes zip forward like bullets from a gun, narrowly avoiding whoever might be in front of her and reaching their target faster than any of the party would be able to blink. If they strike, they'd hit like four haymakers from a professional pugilist, two to the right chest of the target, two to the left.

Lightning looked as the two creautes before him and the rest of the group turned into puddles. "Did we win?" He asked as he looked at the others wondering if that was really it. Sadly, it was not the case as more things started to come out of dark puddles, but during this brief moment of ease Lightning could see that the figure was going into some sort of castle. "I really need to learn to shut up." He muttered to himself as held his aim at the things coming up from the ground.

Luckily, it seemed Wild had things covered for one and so did Oath and Verde. Lightning looked down at his gun for a moment and realized he was probably the most ill-equipped memeber in this group for something like this. He lacked armor or anything magical and while he probably had more ammo shoved into his pack than what would be legal, if there was a law for it, but still it was an limited amount.

He would have to try and conserve on ammountation. As he watched the spikes, axes, and cards fly to their targets Lightning looked over at the portal which was still open. He wasn't sure wheather the portal would keep open or not though it didn't seem to be closing. It was so close too. He would be inside of the portal with a few seconds, but Lightning didn't see the purpose of it. So, instead he kept his eyes on the opponents that they were trying to deal with now and would fire onto the few that managed to survive the initial attack. "I got anything that's left I guess." He said since everyone was basically calling out where they were attacking.

Fantasy's grip on her mace slackened just so slightly as she watched the two new portals form on the ground, and begin to produce more shadow beasts. Oh, fuck you, Murphy. she thought, sighing again and raising her mace once more. This was just bullcrap. Then again, with a search like this going on, what was she really expecting? The Element bearers had gone missing. Whatever had managed to make that happen was obviously a very real threat, and not likely to be defeated easily. In hindsight, Fantasy should've fully known that.

She glanced at the bigger portal behind the creatures with their heads stuck in the ground, seeing the strange, gloomy castle. She put five bits on her and her new group having to go into said castle after defeating whatever the hell these creatures were.

Sugary merely assessed the situation before him in general, though kept the spell up despite the creatures being beaten quickly just in case. "... The one with the umbrella... I thought he was very composed and level-headed, but he seems... unstable... And the others... Attacking efficiently, but was it too premature...?" While his gut instincts against the creatures and possible opponents was to attack them if need be, he was taught to to do so when they immediately pose a threat, and not get a Preemptive Strike unless fully certain of the circumstances if possible... Which he still wasn't. He had barely met the group, was in the presence of what he felt was a powerful being and energy of Darkness, had seen oddly familiar yet different creatures that the others had disposed of rapidly even though they had not shown any immediately aggressive behavior other than appearing and moving oddly, and still had no clue how to get back to the Guild.

He'd have to assume that these creatures were somewhat common in these parts, and try and trust the judgement of the ones he was currently with... He was also trying to keep calm as the other portal opened, and once again gave him that chilling feeling. "... What IS that place...? Does it have to do with how I got here...?" Sometime during his thoughts, his chest began to glow with a soft and small blue light seemingly from within. He felt a light tug towards the castle past the portal due to it, which made him flinch lightly and also give him more to ponder over. "Ah...! The crystal...!? Wish the Professor was here. I need a Scholar's guidance right about now..."

Rain Splash against better judgment ignored the portals and focused on the enemies at hand, the enchantment on his water turned his arm into a icy arm sword, a sudden flick of his wrist or the arm itself could throw ice shards with precision and deadly speed, he concentrated on the ice, allowing spikes to form along the forearm. As he prepared his throwing ice he glanced at everyone else, a few seemed unnerved by the sudden extra enemies, some were looking at the portals with curiosity, as well as a mix of fear and wonder.

He began slowly moving towards the bigger group of ponies, bolstering everyone's chance of survival by staying together, another reason he was fond of being in groups. Everyone worked together, it filled him with reassurance to know someone was watching out for him. He continues to slowly move towards Oath, Sugary, and the rest while keeping a constant eye on the darklings.

At the entrance to the strange castle the hooded figure seemed remarkably unconcerned with the death of his minions as the shadowy creatures fell before them to the mixture of axes, slicing cards and magic bombarding them and sealing the portals before any of their kin could fully emerge to join the fray. Far from it, he looked almost fascinated, tilting his head to the side as if to get a better look.

"Strong hearts that resist the Heartless. But as all hearts are born into the darkness, so too shall they all eventually return to it." The voice was different than the quiet whisper they had heard before, this was a loud, booming echo that was so distorted it was impossible to make out tone or even gender, it was hard to even make the words out at all.

The hooded figure held up his hand, revealing six more cards in his grip; he turned them faceways so they all could see. Even from the distance between them and the swirling portal, they could make out what was on the cards.

And that was largely because they were moving.

On each card a bearer of the elements was depicted, moving and flailing against the confines; Rainbow Dash kicking as if to break out of the card, Fluttershy rocking back and forth in a panic while Twilight flailed her arms and swished her horn around in some effort to conjure a spell.

The figure turned it's head to focus on Lightning in particular. "Typical heroes; so dedicated to the light that you will not step into the darkness even to save your own heroes."

The figure stepped back, the large double doors began to swing shut behind him.

For some it would appear as simple as a shutting of the door. For others... it was less pleasant.

Before the eyes of Verde Tin and Fine Fantasy flashed a visceral image, Equestria engulfed in flames with ponies dying left and right, followed by an arid, lifeless desert replacing what had once been their kingdom.

Wild Card and Rain Splash were greeted with an image of a mental asylum, their vision locked on to one of the cells where a foal lay thrashing in a straightjacket.

Before Sugary and Oathbound another vision; the same stallion Oathbound had seen depicted on the card that had appeared to him and a towering figure with a single, massive black wing, shaking hands as they stood in the center of a flaming village.

Lightning meanwhile could see nothing. Only a pitch black, empty void. But even within this void he could see movement, no more sense movement. He knew that many, many creatures of pitch black were squirming and moving all around him but he could not see them. A small distance off he could see six very familiar ponies, running or flying at full pelt as if being pursued...

"What good are your hearts if they will weaken you so that you cannot save your heroes, or even yourselves?" Were the figures final words as the oak double doors shut and, simultaneously, the edges of the portal began to flicker and fade. It would not stay open for much longer.

Lightning eased for a moment as the creatures were defeated, glad that the battle had been finished quickly. But, this faded the instant he heard the figure speak once again. He guessed the creatures he fought were heartless and that the cloaked figure was a pessimist. The sight of the element bearers immediately caught his attention and pointed his gun at the figure, but didn't fire since there was a good chance he would miss. While Lightning couldn't tell where the thing was looking at he had a feeling it was looking at him. It creeped him out a bit in all honesty.

He was about to the thing to stop when the vision started.

The stallion looked around and only saw darkness for brief moment until he noticed a group was in front of him. At first glance he mistook them as his group simply because they are the only ones he thought would been in something like this. Sadly, he let his body react instead letting his mind think about things. "Wait!" He yelled as he quickly bursted into a full out sprint and took flight a good foot or two above the ground to catch up to the group in question.

Then, the vision faded from view.

Now, he found himself rushing inside of the portal which was now closing. He wasn't able to get his bearing until after reaching inside of the portal and land a little ways from the door as he tried to wrap his head around what he had just seen. For some reason he felt a cold chill run his back and was a bit in a daze for a moment.

Suddenly, he remembered something really important that he had forgotten. His group and looked behind himself to see back to the portal he had just entered through to see if anyone else had followed.

Fantasy was very grateful the battle had ended quickly; the dumb-ass Timberwolves had put her in a foul mood already. Her attention was soon on the hooded figure again, once she remembered he was there, and frowned a bit at his logic. Technically, what he said wasn't true. At least, she didn't think it was. She knew humans were inherently good, and that it took raising them badly for them to be bad; did that rule apply to ponies, too? Probably. After all, herbivores don't have to kill anything, so their moral standards would likely be higher-

Fantasy was snapped out of her ponderings on psychology when the hooded figure held up six cards, with moving images. Of six very specific ponies. Fantasy's grip on her mace, which by now was hanging near the ground, tightened. "The Elements." she whispered to herself automatically, though it was likely too quiet for anyone else to hear. Fantasy could feel an indignant rage building inside her. It was clear to her that the mane 6 were all terrified of their predicament, and it only upset her further to know she probably couldn't do anything about it right now, given her distance from the figure, and especially since she knew he was probably way more powerful than her. Inside, she was furious about this- though in hindsight it's probably not the worst thing that could happen to them -, but on the outside seemed rather calm, if a little shocked.

Then came the vision.

The vision forced on Fantasy's senses made her stomach drop and her heart skip a beat. She saw and heard, vividly, ponies running left and right, screaming, on fire, dying. Death was not discriminate with age, and the younger ones screamed the most horrifically. The sky was dark and red, filled with smoke from fire that was seemingly everywhere. She tasted the smoke in the air, almost felt herself choking on it, and felt heat from the imagined flames. They felt so close to her. She felt if she didn't move quickly, she'd join the bodies on the ground.

"What good are your hearts if they will weaken you so that you cannot save your heroes, or even yourselves?"

Before she could properly react to the imaginary flames, though, the image changed to something far less chaotic, but no less horrible. Now, somehow, she could see most of Equestria: dead. A desert, with remnants of pony society, destroyed by the massive fires that had taken it over. The ground was hard, and the air was hot and dry; Fantasy coughed.

Then, after just several seconds, it was gone. The images she'd seen of an Equestrain apocalypse were gone, replaced with her current reality of cold rain and a portal to an ominous castle in front of her. Before she gave herself time to ask what that had just been, she noticed the hooded figure had finally left, the castle's large oak doors closed behind him loudly. At the same time, the portal was starting to close.

Shit.

Without even a second thought, Fantasy charged and jumped through the portal, landing a few yards from the castle's doors. She might've landed closer, but as she was, her legs and stomach were somewhat weakened. As were her hands, as her mace had landed a foot ahead of her. Shaking slightly, Fantasy pushed herself off the ground, nearly falling again when she relied too much on one of her legs for support, grabbed her mace, and looked up at the dark castle.

She saw it was a castle. A dark, deformed one. Not many more observations were made, but Fantasy continued to stare anyway. Mostly because she was waiting for the others to jump through the portal as well, if they would. Really, she should've considered further whether or not it'd be a good idea to jump through the portal, but really she didn't have much of a choice; the portal was closing, that hooded guy had the Element bearers, and she needed to re- they needed rescued. They needed as much help as they could get. She wasn't going to not help them just because she was indecisive. Now, she was going to have to think quickly and make snappy decisions, if she were going to save the Elements of Harmony.

Verde is already stepping forward towards where the creatures had been when the hooded figure speaks--and reveals to them the Element-bearers, confined without cards. The sight causes her to stop stock-still so that when the vision comes, she's already got her eyes fixed on both everything and nothing, disengaging so her mind can realize the implications. In this state, what is meant to be a terrifying vision to dishearten and break them becomes just one more input into a morass of contemplation. The Bearers... within cards? That can't be... the magical energy requirements would be just immense and the method is inefficient anyhow. What if they were damaged? You'd either risk a particularly intrepid pony breaking free and complicating things, or you might severely injure them which undermines the entire purpose of confining them instead of killing them. Those cards represent something... the card of 'Ace' given to Wild Card, the other care of Princess Sparkle that fell into his hands... now this hooded one displays six cards that appear to have the Six trapped in them. There's a purpose to this... there must be.

As if coming to some kind of conclusion was the breaking of a fetter holding her back, Verde began to move again, her steps steady but with a certain careless placement as if she was walking without being wholly aware of deciding to do so. As she passes the remains of one of the beasts, she distractedly extends a hand over the remains and the needles she used against it, shorn of the spells she inscribed, float up and back into their holders on her sash. As she walks, it's with her shield before her... but then she stops right at the cusp of the portal and turns back.

"The camp," she states in a voice heavy with distraction. "Well... the tent is waterproof... but the backpack... yes... supplies will be needed. Perhaps the tent? Perhaps..." She turns fully and her horn lights... and with the precise movements that perfectly simulate someone rapidly breaking it down for transport, the tent begins to disintegrate into the poles and components that it started as. The poles are slipped into a drawstring bag and the bag is closed, and then the entire thing is rolled into a tight tube and placed in its holder. Straps snake out from the backpack and bind the entire thing to itself before the pack levitates and drifts slowly towards her.

Without another word, Verde turns back to the portal, speaking in a voice loud enough for others to hear. "Heh... weak hearts... and this from someone so terrified that their heart quails at the thought of their face being seen. Pathetic." Perhaps not so pathetic as I say, she cautions herself in her mind. I can't imagine that the hooded figure would show us these scenes of fire and doom if it couldn't bring them about. Or, more specifically, if it had any doubt of its ability to accomplish them. The second is almost as dangerous as the first because immense damage could still be done in the attempt.

She smirks suddenly and takes a step into the portal. "I guess I'll just need to take your head as a trophy before you do, won't I?" She says to the empty air.

Oathbound had to stop himself from smirking as he saw the creatures of darkness fall, more intent on the next threat.
He froze as he saw the six familiar figures. Figures of those who had attained a legendary status on Equestria, flailing and panicking like they'd be suffocating in their prisons.
"The Elements of Harmony... But how?" Oath asked himself, not aware of any sort of power in the universe that could match the power of the Elements.
His axes returned to him as he began to step forward, only to stop as the visions barreled down upon him.
The pony of his dark nightmares, shaking hands with a figure who had a single massive black wing. Around a burning village. One that he didn't recognize, but that did not count for anything when it came to the horrifying factor.
He clutched his head as he fell down on his knees, dark thoughts and feelings flooding his brain as they ever did when the former of the two was seen by him.
Every other pony present could see his axes flashing a crimson hue of red in place of their light-blue color. It passed quicker than they could blink, but if they saw him, they saw the axes flashing without a doubt.
Oath was also aware of it, even if his eyes were glued shut in an effort to keep away the vision from his sight.

"No!" He grinded his teeth as he stood up. Whoever this second figure was, he was allying himself with a pony who would destroy Equestria itself in an effort to sate his rage and as such, this second figure must fall like the dark creatures that were just slain.
"If this hooded one can make this vision come to pass, no wonder that the Elements of Harmony were captured. He must also be punished for his crimes."
His axe flared up at the thought.
"In blood."
He stepped forwards into the portal, following Verde and the others, not caring of the fact that the portal was closing fast.

The castle that came into view was much larger in appearance from this side of the portal, that was for certain.
And it reminded him of the stories of Nightmare Moon for some reason. The architecture defied reason and logic, at points even seemingly defying gravity itself.
"Hide within this chaotic maze all you want! This vision of yours shall not come to pass!" He yelled out to the castle, as if expecting the building itself to answer.

Rain Splash sighed in relief that the enemies were destroyed, well, those currently faced at least, he relaxed his arm letting the water thaw and flow back into its flask, to which he put the top onto it. His eyes then darted towards the portal, which he began stepping towards like many others did as well, a vision came to him, it reminded him a lot like a dream or possibly a memory. It showed a rather young teen, in fact it was Rain Splash. He was holding himself as red seeped through the back of the straight jacket lashes from the torture the griffons put upon him, he failed ONE job... And this was the credit he was given. It was also one of the main reasons he loathed the griffon race. The colt version of himself was trying to keep off his back, looking around desperately for a way out. And yet....

There wasn't one, he was all alone.

The pain of this sight was enough to make him stumble and fall to his hands and knees, "Gah fuck!"

He shook his head and looks up slowly three others had went into the slowly closing portal, he knew that portal was shrinking, he needed to be there with them he sprinted quickly towards it, doing a very quick equipment check as he did so. He threw himself into a dive screaming, "You aren't leaving without me!" As he went to the other side of the portal, with the vision still in the back of his head however he stumbled and fell over groaning as he began slowly rising to his feet.

Wild Card watched as the enemies fell to the mass assortment of projectiles, and called back his cards with a small hand motion. The purple backed cards returned to Wild and joined with the others floating around him, which slid up his sleeves one by one. 'We might not know when we're going to need them again...' 'True... a lot of weird stuff's been happening.' The stallion did tilt his head slightly in confusion as to what the figure had said, and he added a raised eyebrow for that completed confused effect.

When the figure held up the six cards, Wild chuckled and smiled. "I can do that too. See-" Just as Wild held up six cards which seemingly appeared out of nowhere, he saw the six ponies encased in the cards the figure was holding. "But... Wait a minute. Two cards of the Princess?" "And he gets the moving one." He then stamped his foot into the ground impatiently, leaving a shoe-print in the ground. "Shut up you two! That bastard has done something absolutely disturbing, including putting my likeness into a card. I want some bloody answe-"

He fell silent almost instantly. The vision could be seen by all of him, all looking at that one cell door in shared fear, sadness and anger. Wild felt his mouth start to quiver and tears build up in his eyes at the sight, and slowly he saw the foal writhing and thrashing about inside the cell. Once again his irises shrunk in size at the realization of what he was seeing...

Him.

The stallion walked towards the door - and so into the portal - and opened it fully. He looked down at the colt and simply stood there, umbrella still in hand and tears forming in his eyes. Wild Card stared for a short while at a space next to the small foal before sitting down next to him, his irises growing larger and larger and yet changing in colour rapidly as all of him stood at the forefront of his mind to see this vision. The umbrella was dropped on to the ground, and Wild brought his knees up to his chest to rest his head against them, looking at the floor.

As he saw the ground change from the slightly padded floor to the strange, unknown substance, Wild held his knees closer to himself and started to cry slightly. This crying soon became a full torrent of tears and sadness as the stallion couldn't hold it back any longer. "H-How... Why... How d-did it... How?" He managed to say in between small gasps for air as he continued crying, and through the tears his eyes turned a silvery-grey.

(("Those chosen by the planet"))

The words of the hooded figure were ominous to say the least for Young Sugary. But he was no stranger to the meaning and relationship between Light and Dark. He was taught well, and knew better to be deceived into thinking that either one should ever be absolute... But no amount of teachings would prepare him for the fires he felt, or the fear he had when he saw the vision he shared with Oathbound.

The twisted look-alike of Oathbound's form was questionable enough as it was, but the location of the fires, and the tall winged being, were fairly familiar to him... And it made him feel incredibly unsettled. "... N-Nibleheim...? And... T-The One... The One Winged Angel!?" He spoke in a low and shaky voice, clearly affected by what he saw even after the vision had gone away.

He tried to make sense of what he saw, and why he saw it. And then it hit him. A realization that shook him to the core of his very being. "Dark hooded beings... Old reports and stories involving HIM mentioned people in dark hoods... Could they be trying to revive that phantom!? Cause another Jenova incident...!? But those cards... These ponies... Bah! So much I don't get!"

He eventually dissipated the fire spell he had in the ready, put the wand away and traded it for the shield, then switched them between right and left hand, and gave a yell into the sky to psyche himself up and follow those who seemed to be affected as well. Plus, the feeling in his chest from earlier kept urging him into the portal, and it seemed to be that until he did so, it would not leave him be. While he was concerned for the state of being of some of the others, and he himself was still shaken, he needed answers. "Graaah! Okay, I need someone to tell me what the heck is going on! I don't care who...! Who were in those cards!? Are those creatures common here!? Does anyone know the hooded man!? And what region, continent, or... or even planet is Equestria!?"

((OOC: The following is posted via direct permission from the GM of this thread, ObsidianPony.))

Verde turned at the multiple voices that came from the stallion as he expressed his outrage at what he, and the rest of them, had seen. Thus when Wild goes abruptly silent, eyes fixed on something only he could see, Verde was watching. Wild approaching the invisible whatever-it-was wasn't entirely unusual to her; he clearly had many minds and those minds would obviously see the world differently. What wasn't expected was a fully grown stallion sitting down, drawing his knees to himself, and sobbing like a terrified child. Verde's eyes narrowed as she mentally reviewed what she'd seen, trying to spot anything in the vision that could be approached and sat down beside... and she came up with nothing. Could he have seen... something different? Yes... yes, that would make sense; those who can't attack the body will oft attack the mind or will.

The reaction of the foppish young stallion, especially his strange invocation of 'Nibleheim' and 'The One-Winged Angel' and his thoroughly bizarre questions about where he was and especially who was on the cards, cinched it for her. Visions tailored to each of us, she concluded as she secured her shield and sword and approached the weeping Wild. The coward must have some insight into who we are and what would most affect our emotional state. And yet, he taunts me with a fantastical and absurd vision of Equestria destroyed and the innocent consumed by flame. Why would he think that would bother me, beyond provoking me to work all the harder to destroy him?

She kneels next to Wild, noting the change in his eyes, before she very tentatively reaches a hand out and rests it on his shoulder. "Mister Card, what you see is not real," she says in a low and soothing voice. "The coward in the hood fears you, fears us all, so he taunts us with visions of grief, destruction, and fear. Whatever evils have befallen you before are in the past and cannot harm you any longer. Whatever evils are destined for you are in the future and you can armor yourself against them. Heed your anger now and point your rage against the one who dares to wound you thus; fear and grief can only cause you to bleed."

With her hand still on Wild's shoulder, trying to offer a reassurance and an anchor to draw what seemed to be a very valuable ally back to an even keel, Verde turns to look up at Sugary. "How is it that you're here and don't know where you are or who was on those cards, young man?" she asks him. "Every pony in Equestria knows the Six Bearers of the Elements of Harmony, paragons and protectors both, and it is they who were on those cards and whom we were commissioned to come here and search for. This place you tread is Equestria; beyond that, I have no answer for you. As to who that hooded man is..." Verde's expressed turned hard and ugly. "We'll find out soon enough and he will have cause to regret our knowing. Already, he has given me things to revenge myself against him for: the attack, the imprisonment of the Bearers... and now, tearing open another's wounds for sadism." She looks hard at Sugary. "Concern yourself not with where you are, young stallion, but with crushing your foe to the mud and grinding his cowardly face in it."

"What is hidden in the heart cannot remain hidden in the boundaries of Castle Oblivion. Secrets, emotions, worst memories, futures... all are like an open book within these walls." This voice stuck out to them all, they were all once again hearing it in their head but it they all heard the same words spoken.

Though for each the words were the same, there was some difference to the voice. Each voice was familiar but the echoing and the distortion behind it made it impossible to place the voices in their head, the dead, emotionless tone in which the words were said doing nothing to help.

"There is darkness ahead. But do not be afraid... do not flee... and follow the light in your hearts." Were the final words each voice said to them before the doors to the castle itself swung open.

The interior to the castle contrasted greatly with the outside, which was primarily rocky grounds and black, swirling skies beside the golden and bizarrely built castle; the interior on the other hand was so plain and shining white that it almost hurt their eyes from the contrast.

The shining marble floors and pillars were smooth and polished to perfection, with a slight raised floor that was carpeted leading off in three separate directions; the ending to each carpetted path was the same, a pair of large doors with a strange symbol on them:

Before they could take a step forward however, a card flashed up in front of each of them; blank initially, the cards soon faded their image into place, an image of the dark creatures they had defeated at the portals, one for each of them.

"The cards dictate everything in Castle Oblivion. They are the past, the present, the future, they hold the key to power, knowledge, new worlds... everything is a part of the cards here."

They didn't hear any voice this time, but somehow each of them knew this the moment the doors had opened. As a final addition a large, white roman numeral "II" appeared on the corner of each card.

Oathbound shook his head slowly as he heard Verde's words about heeding the rage inside and directing it against the assailant.
"...But what if your rage is hellbent on destroying you?" He whispered to himself.
He decided to add to the conversation Sugary and Verde were having.
"But remember. Never let your anger consume you and wipe away what you are." He said in a tone that implied that he'd experienced it over and over.

The words that echoed through his head alerted him, though he calmed down slightly, the tone and emotionlessness of the voice being strangely soothing to him.
The card that appeared in front of him faded it's image of the darkling in place, causing him to scowl slightly, as if expecting the creature embedded in the card to jump out and bite his head off. He took the card in his hand and stared at it for a second before motioning to put the card away, but stopped himself. His mind seemed to acknowledge the power of the card as if someone was talking to him, but he heard no voice. As he was about to question if anyone heard a voice like he did a second ago, he snapped his gaze back to the card as the "II" appeared on it.
He finally decided to stay silent for the moment and put the card in his pocket.

Sugary listened in carefully to what Verde was telling him, which both helped him put things into perspective... and confirm that he was far far FAR away from home. It was, admittedly, hard to cope with, and the cryptic words of the voices coming from the castle only weighed him down further into his thoughts.

Even so, he had psyched himself up a bit when he had wanted his questions answered, and was slightly motivated further by Oathbound's words on top of having been given guidance on what was happening by Verde. By the time the card of one of the defeated creatures appeared, he only mildly hesitated in grabbing it and placing it in his inventory before he spoke again after looking at it, pointing his sword towards the castle while adding some Light magic into it with a spark in his eyes.

"You dare lecture me on the meanings of Light and Dark!? Neither element should ever be allowed to flood the other, or the Void of Chaos will reign! You, who wield Darkness to cause fear, kidnap heroes, and hide your visage will learn to fear Light! That is a Tantalus Mercenary promise!" With a steel-clad determination to make things right, full of vigor and anxiety to see this all end, he took step by heavy step as he made his way towards the entrance that others would likely go into as well as he thought about the now self-imposed mission upon himself, which had, thus far, been the only thing to set him at ease. "Right! Save the heroes, protect the allies, defeat all foes, and go back home...! I hope..."

In the brief moment of self-doubt as he went over to enter the castle, he passed right next to Card and was once again back to his chipper self as he stopped walking with a leg extended in mid-air, pivoted through sheer force of motion, looked down on him, and began to do jumping jacks right in front of him and everyone. "Oi, oi! This isn't the time to be brooding! Come on, get up! You can do this!" He was practically cheering the Top Hat wearing stallion and, to an extent, Rallying the others to boost group morale in what had thus far been a cryptic encounter with mysterious forces.
