Name: Lasagna (Goes by 'Synt')

Race: Griffon

Age: 31

Crest: A pale yellow mess of feathers.

Coat: Dark orange, bordering on brown.

Extra details that aren't needed but are nice to add: The yellow of his beak is faded so much that is looks cream, or even a very off white. One of his eyes are a bright gold colour, whilst the other is covered by a brown cloth that wraps around his head.

Distinguishing Features: His makeshift eye-patch.

Specialty (eg. special spells, unique powers etc): Synt is skilled in Close Quarters Combat, as well as wood-carving and slight of hand.

Weaknesses: Being poked in the eye, being called Lasagna, and being punched in the throat.

Occupation: Courier of illegal herbs and equipment.

Gear: He carries a small hunting knife in a sheath, concealed under his right wing, which he can use in combat. He can also use it carve stakes and other sharp objects out of wood.

History: Synt was found as a hatchling on the streets of Canterlot, with no parents to speak of, by a griffon gang of smugglers. Against the judgement of the rest of the gang, the leader took little Synt in and named him Lasagna, for no other reason than that he bared a slight resemblance to the popular dish, and that the leader was dreadfully hungry at the time.

The gang reluctantly took to raising the griffon as one of their own. He didn't catch onto the tricks of the trade as fast as they expected him to, but through many liters of blood, sweat and tears, the griffon caught on and was able to earn his keep, as well as a little extra for his own pockets. Due to growing up on the streets with his adoptive family, he didn't receive much of an education. This was made up for, however, by more practical skills. Such as the ability to fight, steal and lie his way out of potentially dangerous situations. He also spent his spare time carving away at any spare firewood that hadn't been used to keep the den warm. Over his lifetime, he became decently good at creating makeshift weapons.

At the ripe old age of 18, the griffon found himself in one particular dangerous situation with a rivaling gang. His smuggling team had been ambushed, and a full-scale battle had broken out. It had gotten to the point where many of his family members were severely injured, and he had been one of the only griffons standing. He fought his hardest, but the ensuing battle resulted in the tragic loss of his left eye and the addition of a chip on his shoulder. He swore, though, that from that day forward, he would return and exact his revenge.

It was a good ten years after that when the newspapers were filled with the news that there had been a bloody massacre in one of the abandoned factories within the area. Only one griffon had gotten away without being seriously injured, and even then he wouldn't dare share the name of his attacker without cowering in fear.

From that day forth, that griffon was no longer named Lasagna. From that day forth, his name was Synt.

Personality: Synt is standoffish and rude to the new people he meets, but he can be charming and witty to towards those he grows to care about. He also has a fowl temper towards those that dare threaten his family and friends.

Current Home: Canterlot

Misc: My take on a gritty, but slightly humorous character.

Name: Ipecac

Race: Zebra

Age: 25

Mane: A long and untamed black bright pink mane

Coat: Normal zebra white and black stripes

Cutie mark.: Used to have her clan tattoo in place of cutie mark, now has a blank flank

Extra details that aren't needed but are nice to add:

Distinguishing Features: Her bright pink mane stands out from most zebras, especially since it is often tied into braids and the braids will likely have their own splashes of color with little rhyme or reason.

Specialty (eg. special spells, unique powers etc): Ipecac is a master of hypnotism and potion brewing; she uses the amulet around her neck (a silver pony's skull holding a chunk of Painite shaped into a spiral shape) to induce trances in the weak minded or the willing. Additionally Ipecac is one of the most skilled potion brewers and ritual performers in all of Zebrica, able to easily master new recipes and invent her own if provided the right materials; as a result of experimenting with them frequently on herself she is also more resistant to toxins and poisons than most though not immune.

Weaknesses: Ipecac has no real training in a fight and relies solely upon her brainwashing and poisons; if those are defied the zebra mare would be no problem for a moderately strong pony to take down assuming they can prevent her escaping.

Occupation: Travelling Showmare/Master Criminal

Gear: Almost always travels in a carriage packed to the brim with potion brewing equipment and spell books, as well as her previously mentioned amulet. 

History: Ipecac was a member of the Walinzia clan of zebras and was being trained to become the clan's next shaman like her mother before her. When sent to Canterlot to receive education into deeper magical matters from Princess Celestia, Ipecac broke into the restricted section of Celestia's personal library and read through her journals and record books to learn all about Discord after finding mention of him in a history book which remained vague.

The promise of a world ruled by anarchy, which to Ipecac meant a world where those in power would not exist and all could do as they pleased, appealed greatly to the zebra mare, who eagerly began learning chaos rituals and trying to discover a way to personally perform chaos magic. Her first attempt at a chaos magic based ritual backfired on the zebra, distorting her mind severely to view the entire world through the eyes of madness, much like Discord himself; where most saw peace and tranquility, she could only see and think about ways to subvert that and make it "more fun".

Abandoning her studies and returning to Zebrica, Ipecac set about terrorising her former home to break it out of it's strict traditions and tribal structure, inciting anarchy wherever she went usually through drugging important water supplies, hypnotising large amounts of village populations during supposed magic shows or simply finding like-minded individuals.

Ipecac has largely remained at large for the last six years despite best efforts to capture her, usually imprisonments last only days before she finds a way to escape. She continues her goal to spread chaos and anarchy wherever she can, believing that if she fills the world with enough chaos that Discord will return and begin the world anew.

Personality: Ipecac is dangerously deranged, finding scenes of destruction, chaos and suffering genuinely beautiful. Ipecac often seems relatively normal if a bit overly prone to laughter when she wants to but when she operates her plans she is downright sadistic despite maintaining her friendly demeanor no matter the situation.

Ipecac views her actions purely as service to Discord and insists that what she does is no different than how the Elements of Harmony serve Celestia. No one has been able to determine or get a solid answer out of her whether she genuinely believes this or not, and with her addled mind the answer may well vary day by day.

Current Home: None, regularly on the move. Usually stays to Zebrica but has made occasional forays to Equestria and the Griffon Kingdoms.

Misc: Frequent opponent of Purse Cutter, member of Raconteurs (a particular contingent of Discord worshippers).

Name: Brimstone

Race: Earth Pony

Age: 27

Mane: None

Coat: Charcoal

Cutie mark.: A piece of burnt charcoal (invisible under normal circumstances due to blending in with his coat, leaving many to believe he is a blank flank)

Extra details that aren't needed but are nice to add: 

Distinguishing Features: Brimstone lacks a mane and is almost entirely charcoal colored, including his cutie mark blending in with his coat. The only parts of him that stick out from this are his eyes, which are dark orange

Specialty (eg. special spells, unique powers etc): Brimstone is a pyrokinetic, able to flawlessly control natural fire to his will and having a large degree of control over magical flames as well, including the fires of Tartarus if need be. Because of his often close proximity to fire Brimstone is highly resistant elemental exposure, able to comfortably walk in the arctic of the Crystal Empire and to stroll through his own flames without damage.

Weaknesses: Naturally water is a large deterrant for Brimstone. All but the most severe rainstorms will only mildly bother Brimstone but large bodies of water such as lakes, rivers and in the worst case scenario oceans will completely douse his flames and will inflict a great deal of pain on Brimstone himself.

Additionally while Brimstone is able to ignore one of the elements needed to create fire (fuel), he requires the other two; if he is in a sufficiently cold area or in a place of little to no oxygen he will be able to create either very little fire or none at all depending on the severity.

Occupation: Master Criminal/Fire-Eater

Gear: Brimstone usually carries candles, torches and matches in his saddlebags as he needs a fire to be already present to act as a catalyst for his powers (he can increase the amount of fire once one is already present but he cannot generate fire from nothing).

History: Brimstone grew up in an uncaring family of Nightmare Moon supporters (the same group which would later raise Razor Back) and was largely just used as labor by them due to the group having a preference for thestrals or at least unicorns. It was all he knew at the time so he didn't much object until one day it was decided to use him as part of an experiment.

The worshippers had believed that Princess Celestia had actually sealed Nightmare Moon in Tartarus (due to misinformation which actually pertained to Tirek) and decided to try and free her by opening a portal to Tartarus, a feat which is highly illegal and dangerous for obvious reasons; unsurprisingly the portal went badly wrong and Brimstone was nearly pulled into the portal, only saved by one of the other worshipers.

While he had avoided Tartarus itself, Brimstone had not come back and was inhabited by a spirit known as a Kosenjobi, which latched to him. While it granted Brimstone his pyrokinetic abilities it also forced him to leave his home and travel where the spirit demanded, travelling to sites of great wars and battlefields so the Kosenjobi could try to reach out for more of it's kind.

Brimstone eventually ran across Ipecac. Seeing an opportunity, Ipecac tricked the Kosenjobi into helping her perform a ritual supposedly to draw more of them out of Tartarus; in actuality the ritual sealed the spirit within Brimstone's body and chained it within his soul, removing any actual control it had over the pony. Brimstone, partially out of gratitude and partially out of not knowing anywhere else he would be welcome, became loyal to Ipecac and was soon a loyal ally to her goals of spreading chaos and anarchy.

Personality: Despite his destructive powers and even more destructive uses he puts them to, Brimstone is usually quiet and subdued when he is given a chance to be. While Ipecac delights in her insane actions and enjoys the misery she causes, Brimstone just sees it as a consequence of what they do and tries not to think on it too hard.

Due to speaking very rarely Brimstone is often mistaken for "simple" but he is actually very observant and when he must use his powers for battle he often employs his fires in strategic ways like locking down escape routes or using his fires to flank the opponent while they focus on attacking the stallion himself. Underestimating him has led several guards to grisly ends.

Current Home: None, regularly travels with Ipecac but also wanders on his own at times.

Name: Rhizome (often uses the name Gnawed Leaf)

Race: Zebra

Age: 23

Mane: Long single braid, black

Coat: Normal zebra black and white

Cutie mark.: Has his clan symbol (The constellation of Gemini) tattooed in place of a cutie mark

Extra details that aren't needed but are nice to add: Has a scar along his flank which cuts through his Gemini tattoo/clan mark

Distinguishing Features: The aforementioned scar along his flank. Also almost always armed with a supply of throwing spears.

Specialty (eg. special spells, unique powers etc): Rhizome is trained as a ranger and as such is both a competent fighter when need be and can also live off the land very easily. While not formally trained he has passable knowledge of potions and remedies.

Weaknesses: Rhizome sticks firmly to his training as a ranger to always focus on protecting people; as such it is not uncommon for him to fail to capture criminals due to being too focused on protecting innocent civilians. This strict adherence to his training/views also often causes him to reject help from magic even if it would be very helpful in the situation, believing magic to be a crutch.

Occupation: Ranger

Gear: Usually armed with throwing spears as well as a crossbow. Often carries enough food and water to last for a week of constant travel as well as medicine to treat mild to moderate injuries.

History: Rhizome was brought up in the Walinzia clan of zebras and unlike his parents or his sister was happy to simply be a hunter for the tribe and to do his best to provide for his family, especially since with his sister having such illustrious prospects he didn't think they would need to worry too much.

That changed when his sister actually returned to Zebrica. Gone was the sister he had annoyed but always ultimately loved and instead Ipecac had become the dangerous bringer of chaos that the world at large would know her as. Rhizome felt that he was partially to blame for it since he had encouraged Ipecac to accept the position of mentorship in Equestria, and developed the attitude that it was ultimately his fault that she had fallen into such a dark place.

Abandoning his own clan and taking up training with the Zebrican Rangers, Rhizome passed in record time and immediately set himself to capturing Ipecac as his number one duty. Despite years of opposing her at every turn and many confrontations between the siblings, Rhizome has never managed to bring her in as his desire to see Ipecac reformed and back to her old self causes him to hold back in their battles, always allowing Ipecac to set up an escape route for herself.

Despite how much he considers himself a failure and that only capturing and reforming Ipecac will redeem him Rhizome is well loved among the Zebrican tribes as one of the more dedicated and focused on the common folk among the rangers; inns commonly allow him to stay for free and he has received many offers to help him in his quest, all of which he has turned down for fear of any more people getting hurt than he (in his mind) already has caused.

Personality: Rhizome is very self-deprecating and downplays his own accomplishments and good traits at every opportunity. This largely stems from his perceived failure of Ipecac, years of failing to bring her in have enhanced this despite his countless successes elsewhere. 

While Rhizome would rather not be approached by the public and simply be ignored he is very friendly if required. He rarely strikes up conversation but will help anyone who needs it and ask for nothing in return other than occasionally some directions. 

However, due to Ipecac's fall occurring in Equestria and Brimstone also originating from there, Rhizome has developed a rather large prejudice against ponies; having never visited Equestria himself prior to Ipecac's fall he has decided that Equestrians are obviously highly irresponsible with their magic and will endanger others in the pursuit of knowledge. He is not blind to the good sides of ponies but he views the zebras as far more worthy of the position and power they hold.

Current Home: Currently living in a shack in the Everfree Forest due to Ipecac's presence in the nation of Equestria.

Race: Female Dragon

Mane: Hair: Dark blue with purple highlights, long

Coat: Body: Dark-grey over her whole body, light grey belly scales and wing membranes

Extra details that aren't needed but are nice to add: wears tiny reading glasses, barely noticeable on her large head.

Distinguishing Features: 13 feet tall, somewhat chubby dragoness, always anthro

Specialty (eg. special spells, unique powers etc): Along with her fire breath, she can breathe 'healing fire', allowing her to heal any wound.

Weaknesses: Clumsiness

Occupation: Maid and chef (in bigger houses that can support her height), occasional huntress

Gear: A large rucksack, tiny reading glasses, books, basic cooking and cleaning utensils.

History: Hatched in a large group of dragons, she slowly grew up to only be "sometimes chef" for the clan, but was mostly ignored. After numerous attempts to escape her miserable life with dragons that only cared about themselves and their power, which always went after her to bring her back, they finally let her go when she was about 60 years of age. Since then she was in search of a new home and figured that ponies could accept her among themselves. She did not exactly know how she could possibly be useful for the ponykind and decided she would go along with being a simple maid, her chubbyness and size being a big reason behind her major problem with clumsiness. Along with being a maid for any household that supported her size (and any whose owner was not too bothered with her occasional clumsiness), she also honed her cooking skills, putting extra effort in her meals to cancel out any clumsy mistakes she did. She still occasionally hunts for meat that cannot be found on regular market (whoever would be selling meat, his only business would be Shanny). Makes a living on her own just fine, even if she is bad at keeping jobs.

Personality: Kind, caring, tries to hide embarrasment from mistakes, sometimes rather shy. Becomes really happy if her food and overall work are appreciated by her employer/client. She is adamantly stubborn on staying a maid and chef, as she is not really skilled enough in anything else.
Current Home: Anywhere that she is hired.

Misc: Always anthro. Kindly though she is, she is still a viscious powerhouse like most dragons when she does get to hunting with raw strength. Typical dragon's ferocity in hunting aside, her generally kind demeanor to be a caretaker/maid is reflected by her ability to use soothing flames on the injured since birth.

Cutie mark: A wrinkled piece of paper with stars drawn on it and a pencil right next to the paper.

Extra details that aren't needed but are nice to add: Light blue eyes and an extra fluffy coat.

Distinguishing Features: Black square rimmed glasses

Specialty (eg. special spells, unique powers etc): She is an amazing artist and rather smart for her age.

Weaknesses: She knows next to nothing about fighting, is rather easy to upset, and has a dreaded fear of spiders. She is also partially blind without her glasses.

Occupation: Freelance Artist

Gear: A sketch book and spare pencils.

History: Starry was a fairly normal filly while she was growing up with her parents in Hollow Shades. Though she tended to play with colts more often than other fillies her age. Problems didn't start to bubble up until she got a bit older, however, when she was still a plain old blank flank while most her age had already gotten their cutie marks. Reason for that? She wasn't doing anything she actually cared for enough to find her talent in it.

Her parents, concerned for their little thestral, thought it'd be a good idea to move away from Hollow Shades to stop the bullying she was receiving. Though she honestly didn't care what other foals thought of her, she didn't object to moving. So they moved to Ponyville, thinking it's be for the best, but she was still being bullied if only a little bit. Still she didn't care much of it, going about and making news friends and playing with them

When she turned 15, she started actually trying to find what her cutie mark might be and started doing all sorts of random hobbies and things of the sort. It was then that she stumbled on her mom's hobby, drawing. Late into the night, she thought of what to draw or what to do for a drawing. She glanced up into the night sky and saw the brilliance of it all. She'd be amazed if she could capture it, but it was something she could draw.

So she stared drawing, trying her best to capture the wonder of the night in her drawing. She hadn't finished until it was almost sunrise, but she had done it. She had drawn her first picture and she was proud of it. She went to sleep right after, far too tired to notice she actually got her cutie mark till the next morning.

Personality: She's neat and enjoyable to be around, though she can be temperamental, but that only rarely happens. She is also quite when around new ponies she doesn't know. And above all that she is analytical and questions anything that doesn't seem right to her. She can also be rather goofy at times.

Misc: She hates girly froofy things, especially dresses, and she may or may not have a Luna obsession.

History:
Nova grew up in Prance, moved to Trotterdam with his parents, then to Ponyville, where he had a teen-fling with a lovely young Zebra, Zuri, whom he'd "befriended" in his short time there, and then to Canterlot where he got to see the Lunar guard for the first time. Even though he was young, and barely done with his classes he wanted to join the Lunar guard and be a part of something much more influential.

His father, on the other hand, Astro Starwatcher being one in a long line of astrologists, did not want to see his son fall into the "barbarism" of the military, and instead wanted Nova to to continue the family's long history of astrological study and discoveries. Something much more civil and socially flattering that being a soldier.

Nova and his father got into a fight about it and it ended badly enough that Nova no longer uses the Name Starwatcher, even though it is technically his legal name. He joined the military once he was done with school and graduated among the top of his class at Luna's Military Training Academy.

Things were starting to look good from there, but soon, nova started getting into trouble, whether it be fights, vandalism, destruction of private property and a violent case involving 3 goats and a very assertive minotaur. Meanwhile, he had begun personal training to get into the Lunar Special Forces, one of the most notible military forces that equestria had to offer.

About 3 rejections later, Nova got into an altercation with an officer which landed him in military prison for about a year. Slowly after that, he fell into a depression which could only be lifted by one of his close friends and comerades. However, even that would end for him as his friend, and first real love was brutally murdered by an unknown assailant.

This drove Nova to the point of guilt-nightmares that lasted for weeks and nearly caused him to commit suicide. Fortunitelly, was able to find help in the town of ponyville and is no longer troubled by guilt or shame of the event. Nova was able to pick himself back up again and with the help of some fellow soldiers, a knight or two and brand new motivation, he was able to successfully enlist into the LSF, thus ending a long quest for acceptance into the group.

After enduring long weeks of training, Nova now serves as a team leader in the war effort defending equestria beyond the front. He and his team perform top secret missions, clearing the way for equestrian forces to move forward and ensuring that the land he loves stays safe. During operations defending Equestria in its bloodiest war on record, he and his team were intercepted and Nova suffered injuries from an explosion that broke several of his bones, killed the other members of his team, and left him fleeing for his life for a week with almost no food or water. He escaped his pursuers and was found by an equestrian patrol who brought him back to safety. After recovering from his injuries, he deployed back into the war until its conclusion.

After the war, he started secluding himself from others and was placed in charge of a new team. Over the next three years, he would become involved in another plot against Equestria which resulted in the kidnapping of the Princesses. He was able to rescue them, and after being impressed by his and his team's skill, he was promoted to Luna's personal elite guard, where he serves now.

Personality: Takes injustices seriously, especially after the murder of his best friend and first real love. Possesses a will for revenge and can have a "You get me, I get you." attitude. Other than this, he is polite and professional with most ponies he meets.

Race: Unicorn

Mane: Long, medium length, sometimes hidden beneath her beanie, though she is seen at most times without it, her tail braided most of the time. Color consists of streaks of light pink and sky blue.

Coat: Light grey.

Cutie mark.: A mesh of wires and metal bars woven together to form a circle.

Distinguishing Features: She usually has a large pair of headphones on, listening to some random kind of music. As well as this, her entire right arm and shoulder are mechanical, as well as her right eye and half her body, from below her sternum downwards. Completely prosthetic and made up of enchanted steel, with runes to allow them to work and store magic to perform easier. Her right eye is a soft shade of pink while her left is sky blue, both glow softly.

Specialty (eg. special spells, unique powers etc): Seeing the life of mechanical objects and mechanical magic. Her mechanical eye can see in the dark easily, but does glow when it does this. Her prosthetic arm, when it drains a bit of mana, can construct long blades of energy to use to slash through objects. The more mana used, the sharper and stronger the blades. Klithei can do this as well. And as well as that, her prosthetic parts far outperform average organics, the limbs easily being twice as strong as the original, organic parts had been.

Weaknesses: Kaluon cannot swim, not because she doesn’t know how, but because submersing her mechanical body parts in water is dangerous and could cause harm. The parts getting wet, however, is not that bad, but complete submersion is very much a problem. On top of such, her body’s natural mana is limited by the fact is is constantly powering her prosthetics. And in order to make sure she can use mana quite often, she carries plenty of mana batteries. Her Klithei, however, does need batteries to stay powered for long periods of time. Kaluon is also not the best fighter, and leaves most of combat to Klithei.

Occupation: Mechanic.

Gear: Her enchanted goggles, which adjust to low-light and bright-light situations to allow her to see pseudo-normally. She usually wears a skirt and short-sleeve hoodie as well. Within a small hammerspace-enchanted bag, she carries dozens and dozens of mana batteries and a surplus of tools/powertools. She also has a beanie and large headphones, the headphones usually hanging around her neck along with her goggles. She also carries a heavy cannon-like weapon that is usually hidden in her storage spell, and it fires explosive shells that Kaluon has quite limited access to replenishing stock of, only able to keep, at most, three or four.

But then there is Klithei, her mechanical bodyguard and her best achievement in the field of Runic-Automatons. Standing at six feet tall and mostly made up of heavily enchanted steel plating, the automaton's runes, which animate him, allow for a simple personality and basic skills, such as combat. Klith can drain mana from a few sources. Like Kalu's arm, Klith is capable of using mana in it's battery-stores to create claws of energy to cut through objects, as well as runes in it's palms to allow it to collect kinetic energy and amplify it to allow Klith to send out a simple, but powerful, shockwave. However, despite all Klithei’s capabilities, he can only be active for a certain time before he’ll need to replace his mana batteries.

History: Kaluon was originally just a simple mechanic, but just like another mare known as Viola, she had the misfortune of being taken by a group of militarists that wanted to ‘enhance’ Kaluon and militarize her, the mare getting heavy amounts of surgery to replace most of her body, a chip installed to allow the militarists to control her body, and a chip installed to allow her to form a connection to another, fully-mechanized combat android known as K.L.Thei. Throughout testing, however, Kaluon’s ‘obedience’ chip malfunctioned, allowing her freedom of thought and movement, but with nowhere else to go, she stayed for a short time, and without thinking, began stealing several A.I. from the computer systems before she did indeed flee, going as far as she could, and hoping they couldn’t track her or Klith, who followed the mare blindly.

After a week or two, Kaluon was able to install a simple A.I. into Klithei, and communication became even easier for the two, but the biggest problem was keeping the big guy powered. Thanks to one of her arm’s functions, she was able to set him into sleep mode and store him in a storage spell for a while, but then came the fact she was probably still being hunted. She found herself in Canterlot, and bumped into a mare at a bar, and out of boredom and to try picking up on any news, she spoke with the mare, but then, when a few officers showed up, the mare offered to help Kaluon disappear. And after a quick escape, the mare, Sunshine, she was called, took Kaluon on a few adventures. At first it was crazy. Dimensional Travel? But when she saw Equestria in several different versions, she couldn’t help but be surprised and in awe of Sunny’s BARDIS. But nowadays, she travels throughout a dimension where cybernetics as advanced as her own are rare and never as sophisticated, Sunny having called this dimension of Equestria the “Vanilla” one, whatever that meant.

Personality: Friendly, kind, and generally pretty outgoing, but she can be a little mean when she doesn't like how someone acts.

Current Home: The BARDIS.

Misc: Klithei is extremely protective of Kaluon.

[Side note: I will play her power and abilities down or up depending on what the GM allows, but otherwise, her capabilities will be played down for the most part.]

Race: Golem (Formerly Zebra)

Appearance: All Cypher is is a ton of metal encased in a suit of armour, coloured in various hues of black and grey with assorted add-ons like his hood and cloak. He stands at about the height a regular equine would on two hooves.

Picture:

Distinguishing Features: Apart from the fact that, should anyone look closely, he is simply a suit of armour, he also prefers to travel bipedally (though quadrupedal travel is not beyond him, and he does it sometimes) and he occasionally wears a full-body cloak.

Specialty (eg. special spells, unique powers etc): Cypher is powerful, drawing from a large pool of magic to cast spells with power several times greater than that of ordinary unicorns. He can use lightning and electricity, telekinesis, teleportation, and shield spells. He is also an avid runic researcher, being well-versed in the knowledge and crafting of runes.

Weaknesses: Other than the spells mentioned above, Cypher has access to absolutely no other magic, reducing his versatility greatly. While this could conceivably be remedied by the use of runes, he requires significant time and effort to prepare them beforehand and being caught unprepared reduces him to using only what magic he has.

He also has no far-range combat abilities, relying on his teleportation to close the gap between him and his opponent.

Finally, his animation rune is his biggest weak point. It lies is at the very centre of the hunk of metal making up his central torso, and it is all that keeps him functional. While he has taken all sorts of precautions to protect it, if one were to damage it sufficiently he would simply stop working, becoming a soul trapped within an inanimate suit of metal.

Occupation: Hermit

Gear: He is a suit of armour, of course, and this suit is enchanted with every rune Cypher could and can get his hands on. It protects his runic interior with a dimensional wall, walling off the inside as its own dimension (which doesn’t really stop people from punching through it, only protecting the internal function of the runes from anti-magic.) It also isn’t quite as loud as one would expect it to be, since the noise has been damped. It is resistant to magic in general and is also incredibly difficult to break… just as well, since the suit is, as before, all he is. He also has a full-body cloak, and a sword in case his magic is cut off.

History: In contrast to generally more flashy, showy unicorn magic, zebras take a subtler approach. So it was with Cypher, self-styled master golemancer in his village five centuries ago. The title was easy enough to claim since there wasn’t anyone else in the village who knew how to craft or maintain the animancy and perception runes that kept his golems running. And everyone wanted them; after all, who better to gather firewood, do household chores, and stand as the subject of dangerous alchemical experiments than non-sentient golems?

Cypher made a comfortable, quiet living in his village, and he did so up until one day where he stared into a puddle and saw his reflection: a balding, wrinkly, weak old zebra whose prime had long since passed and whose life might soon follow suit. He asked himself one very important question that day.

Why must I die?

With that, he set to work on what he would eventually come to term, not a little narcissistically, the first of the Cypher-series golems - strong, tough, durable, self-maintaining golems with the ability to function as soul jars. He set about gathering the strongest metal he could from the surrounding regions, forging it into the armour that would be his body. He would spend the next few years perfecting Cypher Zero, the husk he would eventually transfer his soul into, and on his deathbed he finally succeeded.

Unfortunately for him, the villagers didn’t take such an abomination very lightly. They considered Cypher a monster, a perversion of the magic of life, and attempted to dismantle him. Cypher was vulnerable; as a golem he did not have access to his natural zebra magic and was forced to run away tactically withdraw. He spent the next few years in the forests near his village, tinkering with his body, adding rune after rune after rune, slowly covering the entire inside of his suit with them. When he returned to the village he did so as a machine of war, and with the command of his powers he decimated the entire village. And then looted it.

After that, he spent some time fortifying himself against all the incursions he expected to face. He modified the inside of his armour to protect against anti-magic. He added runes that dampened the constant sound of clinking metal produced whenever he went somewhere. He also continued to add to the runes he had already created, making them more intricate and more complex… and more powerful. His constant modifications proved to be critical when, spurred on by stories of a massacred village, parties of hunters ventured into the forest he was hiding in, searching for the monster they believed to be the cause of it. Many of those parties either never found their prey or never returned - mostly the latter.

Eventually the problem grew sufficiently severe that the parties started to grow progressively larger in size, and Cypher realised he couldn’t hold them off forever. He left the forest hurriedly, travelling to the more peaceful lands of Equestria, in the Whitetail Woods, where he could live without the constant threat of being hunted down - albeit still in hiding. There he made his home, continuing to research and experiment with runes and golemancy for the next few centuries.

Over time, as people came and people went, the rumours of a mysterious something in the forest persisted, and occasional uninvited visitors came to his abode in search of adventure or with something to find. Cypher got into the habit of granting wishes… when those wishes involved, somewhere along the way, being turned into a golem. Either that, or being turned into an electrically charred corpse. He was fairly exceptional at both.

Personality: Cypher is calm, cool, and analytical, approaching problems as a scientist would. He is somewhat ethically challenged, though, and while he understands enough about societal beliefs and values to adhere to them when needed he rarely takes them into consideration when choosing an important course of action. He is coldly practical, weighing consequences with no mind to their emotional impact, and in totality tends to treat everything as expendable, including himself… though he values himself highly enough that he does not particularly want to sacrifice himself for no cause.

Current Home: Whitetail Woods

Misc: Cypher can, in fact, speak, with the assistance of runes, though he lacks the usual vocal system of organic beings. He is capable of regulating the pitch and volume of his voice, up to a certain extent.

Mane: A fiery red that almost seems to burn brightly as like a flame. The color is cardinal red with four stripes of silver running evenly across his feathers. There are black lines around his beak and down his neck.
Coat: Most of his fur from below his chest is a lovely wooden brown color with those four stripes of silver trailing down the length of his body. Two of those stripes travel down his back legs and the front end of his paw. The other two stripes come down his rear side and down the far side of his legs.
Cutie mark.: N/A
Extra details that aren't needed but are nice to add: The navy has been his whole life and he normally wears a dark blue uniform, embellished by golden buttons and a white undercoat. A dark blue shoulder cape that wraps around his shoulders. Golden chains holds the cape together. He wears a black dualcorn hat laced with golden trim and a white feather in the side of a red and silver stamp bearing a piece of water skin parchment with a poem given to him from his departed wife.
Distinguishing Features: Other then his strange uniform and the brightness of his feathers, there are a few scars running across the right side of his face.
Specialty (eg. special spells, unique powers etc): A graduate of the Naval Academy, he is a great naval officer and experienced in naval travel. Navigation and positioning are nearly second nature to him. He could find himself anywhere in the world with a Sextant. His knowledge of ship board management has kept his ship running at an effective rate. Trained in Flint lock pistols and saber fighting in ship to ship combat.
Weaknesses: If you take him off his ship and put him on land then he would be in a world of hurt. Secondly his life has been his ship, without it then he would have no ship.
Occupation: Ship Captain for the Royal Equestrian Navy on the H.M.S Sextant's Star
Gear: An officer saber and four flink lock pistols with their own small ammo pack. He keeps a telescope and Sextant in his pockets.
History: Born with a defect in his wings, Lionius was unable to fly and would never be strong enough to fly. Growing up Lionius loved being by the sea, the smell and the soft crash of the waves were all the comfort he needed when he fell asleep. Enrolling into the Equestrian Navy Academy, he learned quicker then some of his fellow students... His years watching the ships come in and out of the harbor had proven useful in these circumstances. Graduating and gaining a ship by the age of 22, he went for a few years til he met his sweet heart but alas she died during child birth and the baby died short after thanks to a flu that ran through the town. Further dedicating himself to the shop and her crew, he now sails the seas to remove his mind off his loses.
Personality: Sometimes he can get really angry and will rant or rage when he people push his buttons. Though he has a bit of a temper, he is a fun loving happy gryphon who spends time with his crew when and where he can. Sharing his passion of the Sea to cover his broken heart.

Distinguishing Features: Platinum is a natural beauty, and this is only enhanced by her make-up and outfits. She can turn heads with ease, and enjoys doing so.

Specialty (eg. special spells, unique powers etc): Despite her outward appearance, once in combat Platinum is a vicious killer, almost to the point of being a psychopath. She snaps necks, slices throats and cracks ribs in what could only be described as a dance of death as she moves through her foes with the force and majesty of a natural disaster.

Her beauty only aids her in this, as it can mesmerise ponies and distract them as she closes the distance, before finishing them in what some would an unnecessarily brutal fashion.

Beyond physical skill, Platinum is trained in a form if pressure point manipulation that allows her to disable an opponent in a variety of non-lethal ways, meaning even unarmed, she is a combat monster.

Finally, beneath her fur Platinum has had runes tattooed onto her skin, protecting her from virtually all forms of magical attack, and preventing those who use magic to see from seeing her.

Weaknesses: Whilst Platinum may be brutal at close distances, she has no form of ranged attack, and has very little defence against ranged attacks targetting her.

Further, her beauty has given birth to an arrogance that sees her take on enemies well above and beyond her skill level, to the point she believes she could have taken Tirek at full strength in single combat. Her arrogance also means that she never backs down from a fight, and has continued to fight even when she was on death’s door.

Finally, though Platinum may have a rather moral outlook on life, she can be sadistic, and has on more than one occasion tortured her foes for no other reason than that she wished to.

Occupation: Platinum works as a mercenary, generally to the highest bidder, though she will not operate against her moral compass.

Gear: Platinum is almost always dressed in some form of fashionable clothing, except when she is on a mission. Then, she changes to a tight, black combat outfit that features a dozen small pockets, as well as sheaths for knives and her sword, the Juuchi Yosamu.

Crafted to her exact specifications, the Juuchi Yosamu is a long Katana that fits into the sheath on her back, and has runes carved into it’s obsidian length. Sharpened to a molecular edge, this blade is capable of cutting through just about anything, and the runes prevent it from breaking.

History: Platinum was born in Manehatten, and raised by a single father, who also happened to be a member of the mafia. Despite his best efforts to keep her out of his shady dealings, she managed to sneak out constantly, and he was forced to train her in self-defence.

Platinum took the training like a duck to water, and quickly mastered everything her father had to offer. It was also here that her viciousness was first realised, as her father quickly realised that Platinum had no qualms whatsoever in using any means necessary to win a fight.

At age sixteen, he introduced to the mafia boss, recommending her as a troubleshooter. To test her, the boss sent her up against one of his best men, who should promptly kicked in the balls with a high heeled shoe, before breaking three of his limbs.

By age nineteen, Platinum was a feared underworld figure, one whom nobody was willing to go up against without significant backup. Her father, having served for some years, decided to retire, and was allowed to due to his service, and more importantly, because of his somewhat psychopathic daughter.

For the next four years of her life, Platinum became a mercenary, moving around the country in search of fun, and work.

Personality: When not fighting, Platinum is an easy going mare, who enjoys fun of any kind. She is kind, and caring, and enjoys a quiet night just as much as a loud one.

Current Home: Platinum owns a house in one of the richer districts of Canterlot, and often dreams of visiting the castle, and of fighting the princesses

Name: Larissa

Race: Red Wolf

Age: Young Female, just out of her teens

Mane: Her hair is snow-white, long and usually curly. She tries to keep it behind her eyes when possible.

Coat: Her Coat is a darkish red, often well kept.

Cutie mark.: Details are appreciated but a basic description will do.

Distinguishing Features: Despite being a female, she has the body on a hunter with well-toned muscles and cuts on her fur.

Specialty (eg. special spells, unique powers etc): Larissa has very good hearing and tracking abilities, especially for a female of a wolf pack. In combination of that, due to her parentage, she is very resistant to the cold as her father is a Snow Leopard, and her mother, a Red Wolf. She is also very
nimble and agile.

Weaknesses: Larissa is prone to panicking in situations that change too quickly for her to comprehend, and once a panic has started, she is very hard to calm down. High pitched noises can also ‘disable’ her due to her sensitive hearing, leaving her defenceless. On top of that, she, like many wolves, can become ‘feral’ where her instincts overcome her rational mind.

Occupation: Larissa is a huntress, living in the forest hunting her own food.

Gear: Larissa has a small set of equipment she carries with her, lighter, a map and a series of knives. Everything else she feels she can get if she needs.

History: The daughter of a small pack, of a Snow Leopard and a Red Wolf up in the snowy mountains, Larissa quickly learnt it was survival of the fittest. With that always in her mind, she didn’t treat herself in the typical manner that female wolves do, she became a hunter capable to holding her own against the packs males.

Eventually, after many years with her own pack, she decided to go travelling, to explore the wonders of the world before her. She had always been curious about what lay outside the mountains, and her curiousity had to be sated, or bug her forever. So she left, armed with only a few tools and her wits.

Personality: Larissa is a reality with a cynical streak, making her not the easiest to get along with. She refused to fit the typical role of a female in a wolf pack, which gives her many raised eyebrows, but she refuses to back away from a challenge. Independent, but not stupid. If a challenge is too much for her, she’ll swallow her pride and turn for others, for life comes before her own pride at all times. However, she can let her curiosity get the better of her and lead her into traps that she shouldn’t have been caught in the first place.

Current Home: She currents lives in the woods, making camp where she is at night. After all, home is where you lie down for the night.

Misc: This is for anything that doesn’t fit in the other sections. Any extra little things and all that. This can help add some more depth to your characters

Name: Lyall Lupin.

Race: Unicorn Werewolf.

Age: 32.

Mane: Long, dark black, slightly curly.

Coat: Snowy white.

Cutie mark.: A simple dagger.

Extra details that aren't needed but are nice to add: His eyes are a soft, pearly white-ish-pink.

Distinguishing Features: He’s always seen wearing a suit with a longcoat and a fedora, and always has his cane handy. He is also quite handsome. As a werewolf, his ears are permanently canine-esque.

Specialty (eg. special spells, unique powers etc): Lyall is an excellent shot with most firearms, and decent with a crossbow, but give him a bow and he can’t do very much. Beyond his skill with firearms, he is quite skilled with knives of most sorts, and his magic is strong enough to assist in his work, the stallion capable of becoming invisible as well as altering shadows to make them seem to have someone or something within them. Due to being a werewolf, his sense of smell and hearing are quite heightened, the stallion able to, for the most part, find his way around in darkness. As well as his body being stronger than average.

Weaknesses: While skilled and fit, ponies who specialize in physical combat could overpower him, as well as ponies who specialize in magic specifically. While Lyall finds the fine line between physical and magical and walks it, those who chose a side to stand on can beat him easily if he is not careful. With his heightened hearing, exetremely loud noises can be very irritating to him to the point of breaking all concentration.

Occupation: Assassin. Though to the public, he is just a young man who oversees his late parents’ businesses.

Gear: He wears a simple dark grey suit, with his family crest, a black wolf with a  gleaming amber eye, on the chest of his shirt and across the back of his deep black longcoat. His clothing is enchanted with be able to easily stop blades from cutting through, but he would still otherwise feel everything. He also has a hammerspace within his grey fedora, where he sometimes keeps one of his most prized possessions. A large, mahogany-and-steel cane, with a few distinctions from any normal cane. First the the subtle curve of the handle, almost like a handle for a gun. Second is the fact the cane also doubles as a musket. The cane, when held steady and ready to fire, pops up several lens’ for magnification for a better shot, and even magically reloads after a short time, and he calls the weapon D’Caliber. The stallion also usually carries a dagger or two hidden in his coat.

History: Lyall was born in Canterlot, to the noble house of Lupin, and raised by the maids for the most part, his parents usually halfway across Equestria or locked in their studies. ‘Working’. Perhaps this was why, as Lyall grew up, he became less of the innocent young child he had been until age twelve, and slowly became the troublemaker. But none ever knew it was him. He was always able to find a way to convince others it wasn’t him or make sure trouble happened while he was nowhere to be found. He grew out of this eventually, and his school years went by as most did. Slow, boring, not much exciting. But around the time he graduated, he had received word his parents had been killed out in the Gryphon Kingdom. And as he was the only one left in the family, he inherited the family fortune and mansion. After the funeral, which he attended as only a formality, he moved on, hiring others to run his parents’ businesses for him while he pursued interests of his own, overseeing his parents’ businesses only when he feels the need to check on them. He travels around, taking work as he pleases, but he has recently taken an interest in being an assassin. But during a particularly long job, he had the misfortunate, or perhaps fortunate, luck as to come across and be bitten by a werewolf, which he was able to kill before he himself got killed. And later, as he learned of what he had become, he found it rather thrilling to kill and have no one know who did it or why, amplified by his new instincts. The money was an afterthought to him, he rarely cared, but the thrill of hunting someone down was always delightful. He still travels and takes on work, but he always prefers the jobs where he gets to hunt someone or something down.

Personality: Kind and friendly at most times, but once you insult him, or when he’s on the job. He’s cold and cruel.

Current Home: Canterlot.

Race: Earth Pony
Age:29
Mane: light grey with dark grey tips (Kind of a spiked crew cut style)
coat: Crimson (longer around the chest)
Cutie mark: Circular saw
Distinguishing features: Left ear has the top half missing, blue eyes.
Specialty: Having spent most of his life living in or around the Everfree forest as a lumberjack, Buzz Saw is significantly stronger and tougher than most other ponies and an intimate knowledge of the forest and it's inhabitants. He has also developed the knowledge as to which plants (and animals) can prove useful or edible and which can be harmful, even deadly, to the consumer.
Weaknesses: Living alone in the woods for most of his life has left Buzz Saw mostly unaware of the outside world and so he can quite naive at times when being in the know could make the difference between life and death. he can also become quite uncomfortable in large crowds or similar social situations due to his lack of interaction with others.

Occupation: Former Lumberjack turned drifter. Often does odd jobs when he isn't wandering the wastes.

Gear: various Medicinal herbs, his Splitting Axe "Anarchy".
History: Born to a pair of wandering Traders, most of Buzz Saw's early life was spent travelling around the Equestrian Wasteland. The caravan he was born into sold a variety of items, however the commodity which they had in excess was firewood and timber, which they often sold to smaller settlements to keep themselves warm or as materials for new buildings. They didn't rake in caps but had more than enough to survive and buy more stock for their business. All was good, or at least, as good as one could hope for things to be in the Wasteland.

However, after 10 years of living a relatively simple life, the caravan was nearing the end of a routine journey between New Appleloosa and Old Appleloosa & disaster struck. Raiders from Ponyville viciously attacked the caravan, Buzz Saw's parents, along with most of the others in the caravan, were killed in the ensuing battle, Buzz Saw fled into the Everfree Forest as the Raiders slaughtered those whom he had known since birth, taking only his Father's splitting axe. The young Colt fled deep into the forest, until the sounds of screams and gunfire faded, now with no food, no medicine and no hope. Buzz Saw was alone in the Everfree Forest...

Many years passed, and to the ponies of the Wasteland the Everfree forest remained silent, but one day, a lone Stallion with a blood red coat emerged from the forest, Buzz Saw, now a full grown stallion, entered the Wasteland once more, for now he wanders, searching, for what? Riches? A family? A chance for revenge? That, even Buzz Saw does not know.

Personality: Makes the most of his situation, no matter how dire. Buzz Saw believes in what many know as "Wasteland Justice" killing raiders and similar individuals on sight unless they outmatch him by a large margin. He is quite quick to anger, when he isn't on a job, he's drinking, and when he ain't drinking, he's fighting. Those who come to know him will soon realise that he is willing to take a bullet for those whom he cares for.
