Name: Tact Ician

Race: Unicorn

Age: 21

Alignment: Neutral

Mane: Dull yellow, short and well-combed, much like his tail.

Coat: Light Brown

Cutie mark: A puppet on a cross and strings

Distinguishing Features: The most prominent is a green snake, often coiled around his right foreleg or stretched out on his back.

Specialty: He is a genius at strategy and political manipulation, and his innate telekinetic skill is very strong as well.

Weaknesses: Physically, he is below the average in the Royal Guard, despite holding the post of one of its officers, because of his tendency to regard intelligence as a far more important factor than fitness. Besides this, he also has all the social aptitude of a hermit, and a predisposition towards temporarily losing all traces of good humour upon a less-than-optimal outcome, i.e. he is a sore loser and doesn't take defeat well. A truly disastrous, catastrophic, and severe loss can cause brief breakdowns and near-insanity, although he is liable to revert to his usual cold demeanour within the hour. Probably.

Occupation: Head Strategist of the Equestrian Royal Guard

Gear: He has gold-painted Royal Guard armour - helmet, breastplate, etc - which are moderately enchanted to provide protection from weaker magic spells. An emerald, inlaid in the breastplate, is designed to absorb only one strong magic blast, after which it takes a few hours to recharge. He also uses four standard durable Royal Guard shortswords to fight, as afforded by his skill with telekinesis.

However, he doesn't normally use any of this unless he's on duty. Most of the time, he simply wears a plain grey cloak, drooping to the floor and all the way over his tail, obscuring his cutie mark. It has a hood he can pull up, if he ever needs it, and a little slot down by his left hoof with a bunch of concealed knives; again, if he ever needs it.

History: Born into well-off family in Trottingham, Ician moved to Ponyville with his mother at the age of three after the death of his father, due to an inability to pay the bills in the aftermath of the passing of the family's sole breadwinner. He studied at the local school until he was fifteen.

His social life, however, was disastrous. From the time he entered school to the time he graduated, the number of friends he had ever made could be counted on two hooves. His personality was simply too cold and awkward to allow many friendships. The only non-familial creature that stayed close to him was a common garden snake he found in Ponyville when he was ten. It had been ill, but Ician soon nursed it back to health, and from then on it had been by his side.

When he was fifteen, Princess Celestia came down to Ponyville for what was officially a countryside visit, though rumours that she was scouting the place and analysing it for its suitability for her student, Twilight Sparkle, who arrived in Ponyville a year after, still fly around today.

When the Princess was in Ponyville, Ician recognised an opportunity to pull himself out of the relative poverty the death of his father had left him in, and he sought to impress the Princess in whatever way he could.

He succeeded. He was a master at chess and playing his opponents, and Celestia acknowledged his skill. She brought him to Canterlot and awarded him with a scholarship to study at a prestigious university, to the exultant joy of his mother.

While in Canterlot, he eventually became close friends with a fellow classmate, a unicorn mare named Antimony, who was the only pony in his life who had ever been able to accept and befriend someone as cold and distant as he. In a few years' time, it almost seemed ready to move on to something greater, but alas, tragedy struck; in the aftermath of the invasion of Canterlot by Queen Chrysalis, Antimony was killed in the fighting - right before his eyes, no less, as he was held tightly by his changeling captors.

Grieving, embittered, and disillusioned, Ician was determined to never be so helpless in the face of such threats again. He was also horrified at the sheer incompetence of Canterlot's Royal Guard: in the invasion itself, despite being armed to the teeth and prepared to repel any threats, they lasted not five minutes against the might of the changelings.

Ician resolved to improve the Royal Guard, so that it would never again be impotent against great danger. He joined the Guard at the age of nineteen, and, with the aid of his intellect, rose swiftly through the ranks to attain the position of co-strategist and officer, and rumour had it that he had further promotions ahead of him.

That rumour was subsequently proven true. A while into his career, he was faced with a crisis: A new attack by changelings, still small-scale at the time, but with the potential to blow up into something much, much bigger. He managed to defuse the situation before it became large enough for the public to find out by defeating the enemy army while outnumbered and capturing their commander for questioning. He was promoted to Head Strategist for his efforts, partly because he had proven himself and partly because he was the only non-alicorn to have actually had experience in facing and beating a changeling invasion. He is now responsible for countering any future threat the changelings might pose.

A number of factors contribute to his continuing success. Firstly, his intelligence, far beyond somepony his age. Secondly, his willingness to go to any lengths to secure a victory, so long as the lengths didn't jeopardise the victory or render it meaningless - essentially, the greater ends justify the means. Finally, his staggering ability to predict and think like his opponents, which allows him to stay a step ahead of them at all times.

Personality: Cold and calculative, shrewd and manipulative, and most of all cunning, he is the perfect fit for a strategist - but not so much for a friend. If he opens up to someone, however, he can quickly show himself to be warmer and friendlier than usual, although still somewhat crippled with social awkwardness. As mentioned above, he also has a fear of losing, and would do a lot to ensure that he wins, sometimes going so far as to cheat.

Current Home: Canterlot, in a more well-off district. He lives with two very, very close friends, Divine Retribution and Ruby Flame.

Misc: He is a firm believer in the phrase "the ends justify the means". Although he has Equestria's best interests at heart, he would go to great lengths to achieve his goals, no matter how underhanded or ruthless the methods may be. However, he does have a limit, and a threshold he can never cross: The cost of the means can never outweigh the benefits of the ends.

I've just been informed that Cerberus is a character canon to MLPFIM. As such, he cannot be an Original Character of yours. I'm sorry, but I wasn't aware of this fact.

Name: Runic Ruby

Race: Unicorn

Age: 27

Alignment: Her good side is Lawful Good while her darker side is Chaotic Evil.

Mane: Orange

Coat: Red

Cutie mark: A bone crossed over with glasses surrounded by a dark purplish magic aura.

Extra details that aren’t needed but are nice to add:

Distinguishing Features: An archaeologist hat and black squared rim glasses.

Specialty (eg. special spells, unique powers etc): She is highly skilled in defensive magic and can conjure up a shield that can hold off a timberwolf. She is also skilled in all types of magic and has a vast knowledge of the different type of magic.

Weaknesses: She has a darker side that only pops up when she is really sad or really mad, and when that darker side shows up, it’s almost a guaranteed chance someone is going to get hurt. Will hurt anyone, even if she isn’t her evil side, who brings up her brother. If her darker side is loose the only way to get her back to her good side is the either knock her out or remind her of a happy time.

Occupation: Archaeologist and researcher.

Gear: A small knife strapped to her left shoulder.

History: When Ruby was young, she was always interested in the different types of magic. She would spend her time in the library reading about all the different types of magic, from runic magic to dark magic. She tried to steer clear of dark magic as best she could though, but her curiosity would always get the best of her.

She was socially awkward at the time and her only friend was her little brother, who would come along with her to the library. She didn’t like meeting other ponies nor wanted to meet other ponies.

When she lived in Ponyville as a foal, she would always dig holes in the ground in search of fossils. Archaeology had become a second interest for her, and she thought that if she found a fossil or something, she would learn something new about magic.

One day when she was digging a hole near her house, she found a weird rock that had something carved on it. She cleared the dirt off it and examined it carefully. She was shocked when she figured out it was a rune of sorts. She felt slightly proud of herself for knowing it was a rune, but also weary considering she didn’t know what it did.

She figured that she could try focusing some magic on it, and so she did. A purple aura wrapped around her and the next thing she knew, she was knocked out cold. What she didn’t see was a note near the rune that had been covered by some dirt. It had told weary souls to stay clear of the accursed  stone, for it makes a pony’s soul as wicked as the evil Nightmare Moon.

Ruby laid there in the hole she had made and didn’t even know when there was a glow on her flank. He brother had found her and quickly got an adult to bring Ruby to the hospital. Ruby was brought to the hospital where she stayed for three days.

When she finally woke up three days later, she wondered what happened and was told she blacked out while digging a hole. She remembered that she was digging a hole, but also remembered the rune she found.

Once she was clear to leave the hospital, she ran back to the hole she dug, but the rune was gone. She thought maybe it was just a dream and she didn’t find anything. She was quite sad she hadn’t found anything and her mom had ordered her to stop digging holes.

As she grew older, she thought more and more that it was just her foal mind, playing tricks on her. She had, one time, tried to dig around the hole but all she found was a note. It gave her a slight encouragement to continue digging, but no that much. She, eventually, just gave up and did some studying on magic instead.

One day, while she and her brother was walking home from the library, a random pony attacked them from behind, injuring Ruby and killing her brother. Ruby was sad, but also mad at the pony. Her coat turned a slightly darker shade than normal. The pony had tried to stab Ruby as well, but failed horribly, she incapacitated the pony and threatened to stab him with her horn.

The pony hit the back of her head with a flower pot, making her lose consciousness. Ruby laid there with the body of her brother until someone found them and brought her Ruby to the hospital.

When she woke up, she barely remembered anything that happened the night before. She remembered the pony and remembered her brother being killed. She didn’t remember anything after that, but she knew she was missing something that happened after those two events. She just couldn’t remember though.

A funeral was held for Ruby’s brother. After it was over she asked her parents if she could move to Canterlot to get away from Ponyville, and the memories of what happened. Her parents understood that she didn’t want to be anywhere near Ponyville and said she could. She packed her things a moved Canterlot the next day after that.

Once there she studied and researched magic. She even got back into looking for fossils and bones. She had nearly forgotten about the note for the hole she dug when she was a filly. She was only reminded when she was looking through her journal and found the note. She poured her mind and energy into finding out what the note meant and where it came from. The more she researched the note, though, the more she realized that she had actually found a rune that day and that when she focused her magic on it it had done something, changed something about her. She just had to figure out what.

A few years passed, before she found out what that rune did and what happened to her on the day her brother died. Somehow the rune took the part of her that hated certain things about herself and Equestria and made it a part of her soul, to make it where if she got very angry or sad about something it would let that darker side of her loose.

Ruby was terrified for herself and the well being of others. She locked herself in her house for months, only leaving to buy food. She had found a way to speak, so to say, to that evil side of her. Though technically she was talking to herself in her mind. There were rare occasions where she would just get frustrated at herself that she would accidentally let that darker side of herself roam.

Ruby had tried her best to be positive and goofy, but that facade faded over time. She almost stopped trying to hide her evil side and almost let it roam free. She stopped herself though and asked what her brother would think if she had let that evil, demonic pony run free and wreak havoc on the land. She told herself to try to keep that demon contained, for her brother.

She resumed her job as an archaeologist and tried to make some friends. There were a few occasions where she would get mocked or made fun of, and accidentally letting the darker side of her loose.

Personality:
Good side: She is shy towards new ponies and rather easily scared. She’s also goofy and lighthearted. She’s geeky when she’s talking about magic or fossils.

Darker side: She is a sadistic, cruelhearted pony who doesn’t care about anypony other than herself. She is highly unpredictable, hot-tempered, and vicious. Her devilious personality also allows her to be manipulative.

Current Home: Canterlot

Name: Xeno Alchemist
Race: Unicorn (as pony) http://img2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20131029211511/new-monster/images/b/bb/Alien_queen.jpg (as creature)
Age: 42
Alignment: Good (as pony) Bloodthirsty (as creature)
Mane: Completely black and cut short
Coat: Very dark, shiny blue
Cutie mark.: Facehugger
Extra details that aren’t needed but are nice to add: Don't piss him off
Distinguishing Features: Aside from having a very dark look and a creature as his cutie mark, not much is distinguishing about him when he looks like a pony until he gets cut, then his blood is green and extremely acidic to anything it comes in contact with
Specialty (eg. special spells, unique powers etc): Killing things in the most gruesome way possible, and potions
Weaknesses: Creature is not very smart initially, and Pony is not very durable or strong and he has trouble keeping himself in control
Occupation: Potion-making
Gear: Saddlebags containing an all manner of potions, ranging from ability-enhancers to regenerative potions to strength multipliers to more intimate things. You name a potion he probably has it in his bags
History: Potion making was his pride and joy, though as all experimentation is it has it's backfires, and this particular incident happened 7 years ago. While working on a way to transform ponies into other species without the need of a unicorn to help them, he unwittingly mixed two very volatile chemicals while the mixture was being heated under a burner. Suffice to say the result is what happens when water touches hot oil, and the potion went everywhere, and most of it ended up on him. The effect of this was very quickly felt as his jaw split open to reveal razor-sharp teeth, a mouth raining a river of saliva, his head became domed and lost it's mane as his eyesight was torn apart, put under the dome, and reorganized into several hundred compound eyes, each able to focus on one thing. His body grew a tough black exoskeleton, covered with jagged spines and sharp edges, while his stance changed to bipedal, allowing his hind hooves to split into quarters, all 4 toes growing a single claw with which to grip the floor. His forelegs lost a joint as his front hooves split into fifths, each digit growing another claw to eviscerate anything that gets in them. Sprouting from between his arms and legs were another pair of smaller arms, ones meant to hold onto something. His tail lost all of its hair as the now shiny appendage grew longer than he was tall, and formed a scythe-like bladed tip. Once the changes had made their mark, his brain began processing a feeling unlike anything it has felt before, bloodlust; this new emotion was slowly conquering his normal way of thinking, his need to kill only growing as time wore on. Eventually he managed to supress it enough to keep his sanity intact, fortunately this also had the side-effect of turning him back into a pony, problem was, he could still feel that bloodlust within him, and that is when he knew that it would stay a part of him until the end of days...
Personality: He is known as being very cool and distant, though when provoked he is very aggressive to anyone nearby and will turn into that creature if he is angry enough
Current Home: Upper floor of his business in Canterlot; The menagerie
Misc: Very much likes to drink with Plasma Stream when given the chance
Power Level
Strength: 2 as pony, 4 as creature (15-20 ton range)
Intelligence: 5 as pony, 2.5 as creature (not quite a beast, it can and will learn)
Energy Projection: 6 as pony, 2 as creature
Fighting Ability: 3 as pony, 5 as creature
Durability: 2 as pony, 4.5 as creature
Speed: 2 as pony, 3 as creature

Name: Sphere
Race: Stallion, Pegasus.
Age: Late twenties.
Mane: Short messy mane, spiky in a few places. It is colored in black, green, and white stripes, black being the dominate color and white having very little presence. The tail is very similar, only longer and messier.
Coat: A shade of off-white.
Cutie mark: A dark green and grey bowl with noodles piled up past the rim.
Distinguishing Features: His wings are slightly larger than your average pegasus, boasting an impressive wingspan.
Specialty: Sphere is a good cook, he makes all kinds of food ranging from mostly vegetarian meals to pastries and beyond. He usually cooks his famous hay noodles of which he is known for on the floating island of Currahee where he resides. He is also a great flyer with his wings giving him a slight advantage.
Weaknesses: He is gullible and naive, he finds it hard to say no when something is requested of him. Sphere has gotten himself into a variety of sticky situations, some worse than others.
Occupation: Chef.
Gear: Aside from the horde of kitchen utensils that he uses on a daily basis, Sphere does not have many possessions that he carries on his person. Has a gauntlet designed by his father that acts as a hoof held retractable magical sword, but never wears it as he’s never had the need for such a lethal device.
History: Sphere worked on becoming a chef, apprenticing under the tutelage of his mother, Linda Wheat, who was already an accomplished chef. They even owned their own restaurant named after their signature dish, “Hey Noodles!” His father, Tin Shaper, was a self proclaimed inventor, always creating inventions to ease the day to day labor of him and his family. But most of his inventions were either pointless or colossal failures. One of these inventions, an automatic can opener, backfired and cut a hole through the floor, nearly cutting off Sphere’s hoof in the process.

Despite all of Tin Shaper's mishaps, his inventions were still bought by a lot of their neighbors on Currahee. In addition to these purchases, their food business was taking off as well. Delivering food to hungry customers was something Tin thought would be a worthwhile endeavor. Sphere quickly took up the mantle of delivery boy, putting his large wings to good use. He flew all over the island of Currahee, delivering food or his father’s inventions to the people who bought them. Even though Sphere was a chef first and a delivery boy second, flying was quick and easy for him, which made deliveries all the more profitable. He was praised for his speed and efficiency, which lead to offers from others around the island to deliver packages that the postal service would take much longer deliver. Letters and packages traveling between the islanders took more than a day when traveling through the postal service for some bureaucratic reasons. Employing Sphere to fly the letters and packages between the islanders took significantly less time. But soon he was exploited by some shady characters and before Sphere knew anything, he was arrested for possessing illegal drugs.

Sphere was met with infuriated parents when he finally returned home. But everything went back to the way things were, besides his mother looking after Sphere like a hawk from then on. He learned what he could in the kitchen and he stretched his wings on deliveries for his parents only. Sadly, this time of peace and quiet came to an abrupt halt when Sphere's mother fell ill. She lasted nearly a month in bed before passing away suddenly in the night. Needless to say, the two ponies Linda Wheat left behind were in shambles. Their restaurant closed down for several weeks. Without their head chef, there wasn't much they could do to keep the business alive. Getting over the depression of losing his mother took Sphere a long time, but when he did, Sphere tried reopening, “Hey Noodles!”

With what little help his father was able to supply, Sphere successfully ran the restaurant. He garnered the support of a lot of the regulars, but did not receive many customers outside of that. He wasn't nearly as good a chef as his mother and his skills reflected in the drop in customers. The restaurant was able to stay open for a long time, but was not making nearly as much profit as before. And unfortunately, Sphere’s father ran into a slump and was no longer making any money off his many inventions. Tin was in a downward spiral ever since his wife died and he wasn't looking like he’d be snapping out of it anytime soon.

On a pleasant summer night an investor came to see Tin Shaper to offer him a position at an research and development facility on the large floating city of Augusta. Dismissing Tin’s initial rejection of the offer, Sphere pleaded to his father to accept the position and to get his life back together. Tin accepted the offer after his son’s plea, realizing the mess he had put himself in. It wasn't immediate, but Tin would soon be back on his hooves, running at a hundred percent again. However, this meant that Sphere would be on his own. While he wasn't sure if he could handle the stress of running the restaurant by himself, Sphere resolved himself to the fact that if he didn't, he would never be able to live with his mother’s death. It was her restaurant after all, he couldn't abandon it or let it fall to ruin after all they have done to keep it up and running.

***

One fateful day, a Thestral stopped in at Sphere’s restaurant with a growling stomach. Sphere didn't hesitate to feed the Thestral even though the stranger could not offer any payment for the meal. After chatting with the Thestral, who was about his age, he learned his name, Dancing Shadows. Sphere thought it was a great name and quickly bonded with the Thestral. But misfortune befell these two when members of the Solar Government raided the restaurant. At the time, Sphere hadn't known of Dancing Shadows’ criminal past. And when the assailants attacked the Thestral, Sphere defended his new friend.

Dancing Shadows was able to escape the clutches of the Guardians of The Righteous Light thanks to the help of Sphere, but Sphere wasn't so lucky. With his restaurant nearly demolished, Sphere was arrested by the Solar Government for harboring and aiding in the escape of a wanted fugitive. Once again, Sphere found himself in jail, only this time he wouldn't be released anytime soon. Having lost his mother, seeing his beloved restaurant destroyed, not being able to contact his father, and being locked away in a state of the art prison facility, Sphere fell into a deep depression.

Sphere didn't blame Dancing Shadows for what happened. Sphere could only blame himself for being stupid enough to fight against members of the Solar Government. Even after learning of the crimes Dancing Shadows had committed, Sphere still thought of him as a good friend. He even harbored a small ounce of hope that maybe Dancing Shadows would rescue him from this awful place. But deep down Sphere knew that it would be impossible to do so. And he was right, Dancing Shadows never came to rescue him. Sphere sat in his cell, waiting to be released as the years passed by.

A prison riot, the likes of which the state of the art facility had never seen before, turned the prison into bloody battlefield. Prisoners attacked not only the guards, but other prison mates as well. All through the facility chaos erupted and the staff on site were spread too thin to control anything. Those lucky enough to slip through the guards defenses, escaped from the impregnable fortress. Unfortunately, the prison had been stationed on a floating island and the only path to freedom was to take to the sky. The ponies unfortunate enough to be grounded would either have to stay or fall to theirs deaths in the ocean below.

During this unprecedented prison break out, Sphere was able to escape on his own, flying as far away as possible. Even though he was free from that awful prison, he was a fugitive on the run. No matter where he went, the soldiers of the Solar Government would chase him. But that didn't stop him from returning home. When he arrived he was distraught at the state of the restaurant. Nothing more than ruined building, condemned and deemed unfit for living. This did not stop him from entering, there was something he needed to retrieve. The only thing he could think of that would benefit him him now that he is a wanted criminal. In a box hidden under the floor of his bedroom, Sphere lifted a box containing a gauntlet made by his father. He strapped it onto one hoof and grabbed a small picture of his family from the nightstand by his bed. He left the rest of the place untouched and hurried away from his old place.

Next on Sphere’s list was to visit his father and to tell him he was alright, but that would have to wait. A squad of soldiers had been dispatched to his home and restaurant by the Solar Government. They knew what connections Sphere had left in this world and would be waiting for him. He was lucky enough to evade his pursuers this time, but he didn't want to risk meeting with his father. It was hard to accept for him, but he knew he could never come back. Now, Sphere is just a wanderer who is just trying to survive while evading The Guardians of The Righteous Light.

Personality: A kind and generous pegasus, if a bit gullible and naive. Sphere is a run-of-the-mill kind of pony, nothing bad or good to say about him. He mostly spends his time to himself, the lonely type, but does go out of his way to help those who ask him of it. He’s very accepting of ponies and is highly empathetic, it’s rare for him to hate anypony.
Current Home: His family run restaurant, “Hey Noodles!” on the island of Currahee.
Misc: Sphere received a odd package from his father who was currently working on the mainland. It was another one of his inventions, Sphere could tell just by looking at it. A weird gauntlet shaped contraption that seemed to attach to one’s hoof. Instructions and a note were left with it stating only this, “For emergencies only.” Curious, Sphere strapped the device on and followed the instructions included. A whirling noise started after clicking the top button and suddenly a blade of magical energy sprouted from the end of the gauntlet. The whirling noise changed to a humming sound and Sphere felt slight vibrations coming from the gauntlet. It was a hoof held magical sword that appeared and disappeared at the users control. It was a fascinating piece of equipment, but Sphere quickly realized that it wasn't meant for cutting ingredients. He turned off the gauntlet and hid the device away, only to be used for emergencies.

The *** break in the history is the point where I've added history to fit my character into Johnny Maker’s rp, “To Raise a Broken Moon.”

Name: Harmony

Race: Unicorn

Age: 18

Alignment: Neutral

Mane: Sky-blue

Coat: White

Cutie mark.: An ink-black bass clef

Specialty: Her primary ability is in music, and her main instruments are a violin and a piano, although for obvious reasons it is usually the latter she carries around for usage. As is natural for a unicorn musician, her telekinetic abilities are strong and dexterous.

Weaknesses: Her other magical abilities are not as well-honed as her telekinesis, since she doesn't need the rest of them nearly as often.

Occupation: Musician-in-training

Gear: A lovingly crafted violin, complete with finely-tuned bowstrings and the bow to match, all of which glow with a soft blue aura. She also has a piano, although she doesn't bring it around with her.

History: Having lived her whole life in Canterlot, Harmony decided, from a young age, that she wanted to become a musician. This came as no surprise to anypony who knew her, since she was unnaturally gifted in the field of music, and particularly so with her mastery of the violin. Her parents, determined to make a prodigy out of their daughter, enrolled her in the Canterlot School of Music.

When she went for the entrance exam, however, she managed to fail spectacularly, in no small part due to her crippling nervousness and stage fright. She was waved away, and she ran all the way home, distraught and despairing, and locked herself in her room.

For a full day she refused to come out, not even to eat. The next morning, though, a soft knock on her door drew her out, and she was greeted by a sight she had never before been exposed to.

Her father was at the door, smiling. But what mesmerised her was not him; no, it was the exquisite instrument he held in his hooves.

It was an elegantly carved spruce wood violin, sleek, polished, and glowing with a brilliant bluish hue. Its bow, carved with similar care, gave off the same aura.

Harmony gazed at it, open-mouthed. Her father then proceeded to explain to her that it was a magical violin, one which had been enchanted with the power to give its wielder unending confidence and limitless ability.

Her second try at the exam, a few days later, was a resounding success. When she came out of the exam hall, beaming, her parents greeted her with big smiles and a warm hug. Whereupon her father disclosed that, in reality, the violin was really nothing special - the only enchantment on it was a light spell, creating the aura effect. The ability to excel was really just her own.

However, Harmony refused to believe him. A part of her knew there was something special about the violin. Something that brought out the best in her. And nothing her father would say could bring her to believe otherwise.

From that day forth, her skills developed even further through her school years. After her graduation, an invitation was extended to her from the Canterlot Musicians' Guild: An offer to join the Guild and become a famous musician.

She accepted the offer immediately. But there was a catch. For, before she could enter, she would have to pass a test.

She would have to perform on stage at the Grand Galloping Gala and secure a resounding applause.

Harmony prepared greatly for the big day. She practised her skills, day in and day out, until they were as finely honed as the razor-sharp edge of a sword. When the day itself came, however, she never actually got a chance to perform, for this Grand Galloping Gala was also the one to which the Elements of Harmony had been invited.

After the dramatic and destructive events of the night, the Guild agreed to give her another chance, seeing as this one hadn't really been her fault at all. She is destined, therefore, to play at the next Gala.

And she believes that she is also destined to succeed.

Personality: At first glance, she appears as many a Canterlot-bred pony would seem: Haughty and proud, with a disaffected air, she seems cold and unapproachable. If, however, one were able to get her to open up, she can be very sociable and pleasant. Her personality, as shown in her work, is primarily rooted in confidence in her own abilities and that of her violin. Unfortunately, she does have an underlying level of insecurity which she tries to hide.

Current Home: Canterlot, in the less well-off district on the edge of the city.

Name: Dirt Patch
Race: Earth Pony
Age: 23
Alignment: Neutral Good
Mane: Black with dark red stripes. Its long and fairly messy. Her bangs get in her face all the time and are often pushed out of the way. Her tail is often braided in one large chuck in order to prevent it from dragging on the ground behind her.
Coat: White around her mouth and legs. The white fades into a dark brown for the rest of her coat.
Cutie mark.: A cornucopia filled with veggies of all kinds.
Extra details that aren’t needed but are nice to add: Dirt Patch.
Distinguishing Features: Her eyes are a healthy green color that often draw a pony into staring into them.
Specialty: While she may be the most intelligent pony you've ever meet, she is smart once she steps on a farm, or is in eyesight of veggies or fruits she suddenly becomes a whiz. She can cook and grow the foods she makes with great accuracy, but its clear working on the farm where she shines.
Weaknesses: She's not that intelligent. She can often be used to other peoples advantage, or often just treated as a lesser being because she doesn't understand math to the point that she should. Up to date events, names, faces, they tend to get lost in that vast space between her eyes and ears.
Occupation: Farmer/Delivery girl.
Gear: A red colored flower is almost always tucked behind her ear. She often pulls along a wagon filled with the day's deliveries or just spare veggies to sell as she walks around.
History: Light Charmer, Dirt Patch's mother, never really talked about where she came from. Patch knew from stories that her mother had once lived in a rather large city, but which of the cities was hard to tell. She had been a socialite, a real charmer. A unicorn with rather impressive displays of light magic. Till one day, she just ended up on the smallest farm outside of Canterlot heavy with child.
Light Charmer was taken in by the kindly old couple that ran the farm and in return for a warm bed, food, and someone to watch the filly, Light Charmer stayed on the farm and did her best working for them. The farm was small, only run by the elderly couple Rough Stomp and Gentle Kick. They had clearly struggling to survive when Light Charmer showed up. The farm had been messy, clearly only a small patch of the farm was getting worked on a daily basis. Light was barely any help. She didn't exactly have what it took to be a farmer.... Thankfully, once her daughter was finally born things changed. Dirt Patch, even as a young baby, took to the dirt on the farm like none other. She played in, slept in it if her mother and caretakers didn't drag her back inside. Dirt Patch worked along Rough Stomp on the farm while the other two mares rested. It wasn't long before Dirt Patch was working circles around Rough Stomp and almost running the farm herself. Rough and Gentle ended up wanting to do some of the work themselves and send Dirt Patch out with the wagon to run deliveries. It wasn't a surprise to anypony when her cutiemark popped up on her flank as she worked the fields. If anything they wondered why it hadn't popped up sooner.

However... All good things must come to an end. It wasn't long till Gentle Kick could no longer keep up at all with any kind of work load. She ended up passing away in her sleep, and it wasn't long till Rough Stomp followed her. Light Charmer told Dirt Patch that he died of a broken heart. They both left the farm to Light Charmer, who in turn, passed it off to Dirt Patch, not wanting anything else to do with the farm. Light insisted owning the farm was her daughters destiny and took off for Canterlot to relive some of her own glory days before passing on like Rough and Gentle.
Dirt Patch was alone... And for the first time ever she felt afraid.
She wasn't about to admit defeat though. She buckled down and took care of the farm, working the small fields and at the end of each week taking her veggies into cities or towns and selling them. All the while making sure her customers know that she was looking for some help if she could get it. While the pay wouldn't be great, the work would be memorable. Its safe to assume that no pony has stepped up to the job.
Personality: A caring mother type. Sometimes she seems a bit older then she actually is. She's always up for hard work, and is eager to make friends. She values herself on her honesty and dedication. It takes a lot to put this pony down. She's got a decent sense of humor but doesn't always remember the punchline if she's the one telling the joke.
Her intelligence is lacking to a degree. Having no real education outside of farm life, she is often the plot of other ponies jokes. Either she doesn't notice or she just goes along with it. Cause whats the point in getting mad? Hurt feelings fade with time but emotional scars not so much.
Current Home: A rather small farm outside of canterlot.

I think you mean "chunk" not "chuck".

O.O Impressive art! Yours?

Given the context of this sentence, I think you mean "...she may not be the most intelligent pony...". I also think you mean "you'll" instead of "you've" unless you mean "you've met" instead of "you'll meet".

You did it right, although I have trouble believing the 6's and the 5's because as I recall, that means that Dirt Patch is akin to The Incredible Hulk. At any rate, you don't need this part unless you plan to use this character in Maretropolis.

Name: Crescendo
Race: Unicorn
Age: 19
Alignment: Good
Mane: Dark/Lime green stripes
Coat: Orange
Cutie mark.: Black Bass Clef
Extra details that aren’t needed but are nice to add: His first instrument was the euphonium (resembles a small tuba)
Tuba on left, euphonium on right

Distinguishing Features: His hair, for one. Also, he tends to be overly happy, even in public
Specialty (eg. special spells, unique powers etc): Music and magic; often intertwines the two. He has a euphonium which he can summon with his horn, and the melodies played on it create different effects. His magic is weak independently and needs the instrument to amplify his magic. However, when using it, his magic abilities far outmatch that of a normal unicorn. These abilities include:
A time stopping spell
A sleep inducing spell
A teleportation spell
A self-levitation spell (essentially flying)
A paralysis spell
and an attack beam (similar to the one used by Twilight against the Changelings)
Weaknesses: He is dragged down by his friends when they act negatively, he often dedicates his effort to helping, usually hindering his own responsibilities
Occupation: None
Gear: His euphonium
History: He was the first in his family to take up music, so his endeavors were made by himself. His older brother can be unstable at times, and has exceptional reflexes from living with someone as unpredictable as him. He moved to Ponyville to pursue a career in music, but nothing has come up. He got his cutie mark after performing a difficult solo at a concert for his Wind Ensemble, and the conductor gave him his euphonium when he graduated high school due to his enthusiasm toward music. He has since near mastered the magic instrument.
Personality: He is sarcastic and laid back. His sarcasm is playful, and hates to be unintentionally rude. Despite his actions, he is often socially awkward, especially around mares.
Current Home: Ponyville
Misc: He is a slow runner, though his reflexes are sharp.

You need to give a precise age.

What's a euphonium?

Quote :
Gear: Many magical instruments that he can summon at will.

What sort of magical instruments? What sort of powers do they have and how many are there?

Good start, but you need more, considerably more. Parents, childhood... anything you can think up.

Name: Moss
Race: Stallion, Unicorn.
Age: 24
Mane: Moss' mane is medium length, pulled back, loose and spiky in places. His tail is long and splintered, curving upwards at the tip. Both his mane and tail are a mossy green color.
Coat: A light grey color.
Cutie mark: Red and blue crossed crayons over a piece of off-white parchment.
Distinguishing Features: Moss has always been defined by his thick, rounded, black-rimmed glasses.
Specialty: Moss is a great artist who sees the beauty of the world, even though he rarely leaves his home. Moss is able to imagine the things he sees a lot more vividly than most ponies, which he incorporates into his drawings to give them life.
Weaknesses: A screw up by nature and a sloth by choice, Moss is the definition of weak. He wears thick glasses because his eyesight is terrible and is only getting worse as he gets older.
Occupation: Draws children's books for a publishing company.
Gear: Thick, rounded, black-rimmed glasses. A plethora of drawing utensils and materials that he mostly stores at home, but does carry a saddlebag full of them when necessary. Usually  wears dull colored hoodies when he goes out.
History: Moss was born and raised in Ponyville and has spent his entire life there. He grew up in a broken household, his parents divorced and his mother took care of him and his trouble making little brother. His mother was too busy keeping his brother out of trouble and working to support the three to watch over the already maturing Moss. He quickly became independent, studying and working to accomplish his own goals, he didn't have much of a say in it anyways. He made a lot of mistakes in his life, some small and insignificant that stuck to him like glue, and some large and life changing, decisions that probably should have not been made by a colt. He once tried fixing a leak in the ceiling of his room, but he fell through the roof and destroyed his room and his brother’s room adjacent to it. To pay for the repairs, his family was put into a large debt that they didn't fully pay off until several years later. Because of these mistakes, Moss was often indecisive and looked to others to make decisions for him, which was not healthy. He doubted himself, he doubted his judgment, and he doubted his worth. He drove himself into a corner of self loathing and gradually lost interest in trying or doing anything.

He shut himself away from the world and did the only thing he enjoyed, drawing. He had piles of paper and boxes filled to the brim of his artwork, scattered across his room. He didn't share his art with anyone other than his family and even with their high praise, Moss never thought highly of his abilities. Moss had gone from being an independent colt to a dependent stallion over the course of his teenage years. He had to learn to be independent again like he was in the past, but this was immeasurably harder now that he was set in his ways. To make matters worse, his mother had kicked him out of the house to speed up the process.

Moss now lived on the streets of Ponyville, or more accurately, he lived in Ponyville Park. He slept under the stars and ate what he could gather from the fields and forests around town. Out of the kindness of one certain pony’s heart, Moss was given a job and a place to stay. He worked as a janitor at the Ponyville Hospital, mopping the floors, keeping the place clean. He helped the nurses with whatever they asked him for and he slowly became the stallion to call on for odd jobs around the hospital. He didn't like the job or anything he was told to do, he was slow to start and complained all along the way. But Moss eventually fell into a routine and settled into the position. He was thankful for the roof over his head and the food in his stomach, even if he didn't outwardly express it.

On a particularly slow day at the hospital, the very same pony that had taken Moss off the street, walked in on Moss while he had been sketching a recovering patient. At first the pony was angry at Moss for disturbing the resting pony, but after seeing what Moss had drawn, and being assured by the patient that it was fine, the anger subsided. A lot of things were put into motion after the chance encounter, events unfolded at a sporadic pace until Moss was sitting at an interview with a children's books publishing company. They offered him a job and just like that Moss was thrust into the life he always wanted, he could draw all he wanted and got paid to do it.

Personality: Socially awkward to the point of preferring solitude over any pony interaction, an introvert. Despite this, he is a very good listener. Gullible and trusting of others, has a strong faith in ponykind. But the one thing that stands out about Moss the most is his ability to be incredibly boring.
Current Home: A small house in Ponyville.
Misc: Moss' drawings are sort of cartoony, but fit in well with the ideals of the publishing company he works for. Of the few books he has had published, they have been well received by their intended audience as well as by older ponies who enjoyed the stylistic drawings. Moss never learned to swim and doesn't like large bodies of water. Moss is very weak and fragile, reliant on his magic to do everything in his day to day.

Name: Clockwork Soul

Race: Unicorn

Age: Twenty Eight

Mane: Long and messy. A vibrant highlighter orange.

Coat: Ash grey.

Cutiemark: A silver gear surrounded in a white aura.

Distinguishing Features: Half of her front right leg is mechanical, as is her entire left hind leg, both silvery. Her dull grey eyes like lead.

Specialty: Anything mechanical, but she specializes in Automatons and prosthetics.

Weaknesses: Socially awkward, indecisive. Physically weak.

Occupation: Mechanic

Gear: Her prosthetic limbs, both with fighting capabilities. Her goggles, around her neck. assorted tools in her bags and a few crystals. An a lot of spare parts. Her back leg is twice as strong as a natural leg, and has storage compartments for tools in case she loses her bags. Her front has a six inch blade hidden inside it that can extend so she can fight.

History: Clockwork Soul was always odd, preferring machines over living ponies. She grew up in a machine shop, literally since her parent's owned the place. She learned quickly and made a working generator at age fourteen, at seventeen her first automaton, A dishwashing monkey, at twenty, a security system for a home, at twenty two a fully mechanized pony, with enough intelligence to respond to commands, runes inscribed inside th plates of metal for it's exterior powering it and keeping it running, but it was still slow. The last four years she has strived to better her skill, never leaving her new home in Canterlot unless she need to get groceries. She aquired her artificial limbs in n explosion when she accidentally messed up a rune for her robot. She built the extra limbs as fast as she could, using simple skeletal ones until she made her current ones.

Personality: Reclusive, indecisive, socially awkward, but violent when her stuff is tampered with.

Current Home: Her machine shop in Canterlot.

Misc: A virgin.

Name: Divine Retribution

Race: Earth Pony

Age: 23

Alignment: Good

Mane: Violet with pink streaks, cut short.

Coat: Steel Grey

Cutie mark.: A set of scales with a sword running through the middle.

Extra details that aren’t needed but are nice to add:

Distinguishing Features: Divine Retribution is naturally beautiful, though that beauty is marred by two large cuts across her eyes, blinding her entirely. Furthermore, she is almost always in a full suit of steel, including a helm that covers her eyes.

Specialty (eg. special spells, unique powers etc): Divine is exceptionally fast, even when wearing the full suit of armour. She is trained in the use of greatswords, and wields hers with a deadly efficiency.

Weaknesses: Divine, though able to use large swords with ease, is not overly strong, nor is she able to take many hits. Upon breaching her armour, she is exceedingly vulnerable, and can be defeated quickly. She is also completely blind, meaning she relies entirely on her other sense in the fight, in some cases rendering her completely useless is her opponent is quiet enough.

Occupation: Divine is currently employed as a judge in the courts of Fillydelphia.

Gear: Divine wields a greatsword, and wears a standard suit of armour, as well as a modified helm that completely covers her eyes.

History: Divine was born Angel Wing to a unhappy couple. Her father was a drunkard and her mother had a broken spirit. Raised under the threat of constant beatings from her father, Angel became quiet and submissive, her naturally boisterous attitude suppressed. When she turned sixteen her father, in a drunken fit of rage, attacked her with a knife. Cutting her eyes open, he screamed and swore at her. Terrified beyond belief, and wanting the pain to stop, Angel pushed him backwards. Her push caught him off guard, and he stumbled, impaling himself on his own knife. Angel left the same night, collecting the belongings she had and vowing to never look back. She renamed herself Divine Retribution, believing that to be what saved her. Over the next few years, she travelled around, buying a suit of armour and a sword, with which she trained and grew. She eventually arrived in Fillydelphia, where she secured a position in one of the cheaper universities. There she studied law, aiming to become a judge. Upon completion of her course, and obtaining her Masters Degree, she contacted the courts. Initially bemused by her, they accepted her application and placed her in a mock trial. However, they were surprised when she presented an unbreakable will, sentencing without mercy. She continued in this trend, becoming a whispered legend.

Personality: Though Divine presents a hard, unyielding attitude in court, she is still quite submissive. She is quiet, preferring to let her actions speak for her. When she does talk, it is often in short, clipped sentences.

Current Home: Divine currently has a home in Fillydelphia, a small flat, spartan in decoration.

Name: Moongleam

Race: Pegasus

Age: 23

Mane: White with pink stripes

Coat: Blue

Cutie mark: Full moon

Extra details that aren’t needed but are nice to add:

Distinguishing Features:

Specialty (eg. special spells, unique powers etc): In contrast to Sunshine’s power of the sun and light in general, Moongleam’s power revolves more around darkness, with some power from the moon and stars. She can allow darkness to consume her, creating a very effective camouflage. She can solidify the darkness around her as well for offensive purposes. Using the light of the moon and stars, she also has some healing abilities.

Weaknesses: Her powers are not as strong as Sunny’s, but they also need a charge. Moony recharges her powers by the light of the moon, meaning the phases of the moon affect how powerful she is.

Occupation: Canterlot Palace maid.

Gear: Her maid outfit and a pair of goggles her sister Sunshine gave her.

History: She grew up with Sunshine as a sister. Though they were close as family, she was the exact opposite of Sunny. In school, while Sunny was the rebellious one, Moony was the quiet and studious one. However, that changed when they graduated.

Moongleam got a part-time job with a local Canterlot baker, Donut Joe. Her job was basically to clean the shop after-hours, which she did well for a while. Soon, Joe noticed her acting odd. She seemed to be talking to ponies who weren’t there. While Moongleam seemed to enjoy her job, customers complained about the disturbance she made, so he had to let her go.

Disappointed, Moongleam left with a complaint to thin air, saying it was all his fault. As she went into the park, Sunshine found her talking to somepony who didn’t really exist. Moongleam argued that the imaginary pony has been following her for a while and that he was real. She said his name was Silver Stream and that he was a royal guard assigned to protect her by the princesses. Sunshine decided to take her to a professional psychiatrist.

After a couple hours of tests, the psychiatrist tells Sunshine that he suspects Moongleam might have a condition known as schizophrenia, a mental disorder which symptoms include hallucinations and hearing voices, as well as a distorted perception of reality. Sunshine pressed further on about what schizophrenia is and he told her that it could be a lot worse and that Moongleam can still live a normal life.

After that visit, Sunshine decided to help her sister get back on the right track. Moongleam had a hard time getting a job because of the fact she looked pretty much insane talking to no one. Sunny had an idea though, and questioned her about if she had similar abilities that she had (for those abilities, see Sunshine’s sheet). Later that night, Moongleam showed that she did (for more details, see her abilities above).

While Moony was confused on why she needed to show her power, Sunny introduced Princess Luna to her. Luna was marveled that a Pegasus held the power of the night in the way she did and offered a job inside Canterlot palace with medical care so that her schizophrenia would not worsen. Moongleam graciously accepted. While the schizophrenia prevented a job in the guard, Luna found Moony liked cleaning and gave her a job as a palace maid.

Personality: Her schizophrenia has caused complications in her personality. She became shy and more reserved after a while of getting put down because of her seeming insanity. She is prone to random bouts of just talking to her delusions. Because of these delusions, she is hesitant to talk to anypony except Sunshine or Luna, because she knows they’re real. Otherwise, it has become hard for her to separate reality from her fantasy delusions. She is kind, despite some of the more hostile voices in her head telling her to be more violent. The treatments she gets helps her control and keep the schizophrenia from getting worse. Sometimes she will go weeks without delusions and some days are just filled with them.

I actually posted this before almost a week ago, but I fear you may have missed it, so I'm reposting it just to be safe.

Name: Silver Liner

Race: Unicorn

Age: 19

Mane: White

Coat: Silvery grey

Cutie mark.: A bar of silver

Extra details that aren’t needed but are nice to add: Has green eyes

Distinguishing Features: none

Specialty (eg. special spells, unique powers etc): He's more resistant to the cold, and specializes in ice magic, even though he works with metal.

Weaknesses: Physically, he just an average pony and has the same weaknesses as one. Has less of a resistance to high temperatures.

Occupation: Silversmith

Gear: Carries a dagger for self defense.

History: The third child of four, he was born and raised in Trottingham with his brothers,Dusk Hammer and Torchlight, and his little sister. Silver has always looked up to his oldest brother, and he's tried being like him in many aspects. At one point it had led to obsession, and became envious of Dusk and everything he had. Dusk had to step in and give him some wise words. Since then he's found being himself was much better, though he still used Dusk as his role model. He soon learned he was much more of a social butterfly than Dusk ever was, and that got him a number of jobs for Trottingham nobles. Though he still doesn't have a place of his own, his workshop in his parent's home has suited him well enough. However, he still feels some inadequacy.

Personality: He loves to have a good friend by his side, and also likes being with the mares. Still feels a little bit of envy towards his brother, and has become envious of others at times. At times he feels there's nothing special about him compared to Dusk. However, he is quite loyal to those he works for and with, but is more loyal to his friends and family than anything else.

Name: Pastel Canvas

Race: Unicorn

Age: 16

Mane: Violet

Coat: Sky blue

Cutie mark.: A blank canvas on an easel.

Extra details that aren’t needed but are nice to add: Has violet eyes.

Distinguishing Features: none

Specialty (eg. special spells, unique powers etc): She's a prodigy when it comes to painting and artwork, and has a distinct eye for detail, as well as being able to see the big picture. She's good with many forms of magic, although she uses most of it to paint.

Weaknesses: Shy and reserved, and is physically weaker than the average unicorn. She has a hard time saying no to ponies, especially if saying no would possibly upset them.

Occupation: none currently, but wants to become a famous artist.

Gear: Often carries a sketchbook to save ideas.

History: She is the youngest of four, and was raised in Trottingham with her three brothers, Dusk Hammer, Torchlight, and Silver Liner. She was the only one of her siblings to be bullied in school, and that normally stopped as soon as they learned she was Dusk's brother. She never outright said that though, it just become common knowledge. Although, while Dusk was away serving in the Solar Guard, the bullying got worse. She became accustomed to ponies not treating her well, and used her painting as an outlet for her emotions. She kinda sees Dusk more as a second father than a brother due to how wise he's become, and often affectionately calls him "Big Bro."

Personality: Again, shy and reserved, she often prefers the company of herself and her painting. Often relies on others to protect her since she can't really do it herself. Due to this she often avoids dangerous situations, and it makes her a bit of a pushover at times. As soon as she's with somepony she trusts, she becomes much more open and playful, and loves to tease about romance, plus the occasional bit of innuendo.

Current Home: Her parent's home in Trottingham.

Misc: none.
